Nettie - babylegwarmers are worn on the legs. the nappy is worn on the bottom.
so no wicking problems.
If there is a gape from bottom of longies (or trousers in the daytime) to the socks, i use the baby legwarmers on bilbs from KNEE to ANKLE - so nowhere near the nappy - there is plenty of thigh between the nappy and the baby legwarmers
Does that make it any clearer?
about nappy rash creams
there are PETROLEUM based nappy rash creams (not reccommended for use with MCN) if you do, some MCN warranties will be invalid for example.
there are NON-PETROLEUM based nappy rash creams
I try the non-petroleum based creams first. If they are not enough, i try the petroleum based creams as a last resort, but WITH a liner, so the cream ends up on the LINER not the NAPPY.
great quick dry ai2's just stocked up at bits for bots (front snappers). Many say hemp as the absorbent fabric but there is an option at the bottom of each entry to say "Bamboo upgrade for $2.50" or something similar.
WOTBB: sugarpeas cover with snap in and bamboo trifold
Hiya Willow (waves)
RE: Babylegs and Longies: Like Gigi I only use the legs up to DD's knees at night under her longies (she gets around in her cot so I dress her at night so she will be warm enough without any blankets) and have no probs with wicking...
Who ever was asking about the front leaking night nappy and longies combo....Just in case nobody mentioned it...when was the last time you lanolised the woolies? Just an idea, dont know it is any use whatsoever ...just ignore me otherwise! lol
Ali - good work on the tax!! enjoy your shopping lucky duck!
Nettie - if you like th calendula, see if you can get a beeswax based one (not petroleum) lik tinderbox, dont know if it will actually make a difference but it is the one I use and it is beeswax based and I dont use liners and have had no ill effects on my nappies :) works like a charm!
Willow - did you figure out where and how he leaks through everything at night? do you have a night nappy or just use bulked up day nappies?
Well, all good here atm...nothing nappy related to report really....been able to get lots of sewing done though thank god for that, so things should be up ad running really soon!! Sew excited!! (Just for you Suse :p lol)
Bump lived up to her name today while we were out...took 3 nasty falls , twice on her forehead, now hse has a MASSIVE bruise about the width of her eye covering the whole height of her forehead :( Was a bit worried, but she is standing and balancing fine adn really ahppy adn energetic tonight, so no concussion!! lol poor little bugger
Mel - Have you got down on your hands and knees and scrubbed the kitchen floor yet?? I swear it works.... ;) Hope you are feeling ok hun :)
WOHB: sandman and longies :)
We're back!!!!
just wanted to post - WOHB flat & itti PUL cover
I've been dying to write wohb. LOL :cryinglaugh:
Maz - The midwives loved your covers, they'd never seen one like it before. I refused to use those plastic snib things, they're pathetic & dont cover a nappy properly
Yay Sal! After all these months you can use WOHB! It's so exciting when you can do that :D Hope it's all going fabulously for you!
Yay Sal congratulations again!!!!!! woohoo!!!!
WOHB: Green Kids from last night...
Congrats Sal!
Now mel it is your turn!!!
Nettie - Ashley has REALLY BAD nappy rash a week or 2 ago. I cut up some microfleece liners and covered her in bepanthen and it cleared up in about 4 days. my mcn's are fine because of the liners :)
WOHB - BBB Boosted + Wool cover
p.s i am hoping my LJ longies arrive to day!!!!
Hey PP, with the longies coming do you think you still need the MM fleece cover?
You know what FJ - let me see how they work (to save you $$ on postage etc)... and i will get back to you. If they dont then - i will buy a fleece off you ok?
I hope they do arrive today :) yay! they were posted monday but no idea what state they were coming from!! :)
Hey FJ - (totally unrelated Nappy question lol).... what made you know you wanted more children? I see you are up for # 4 ....
WOHB - checking now... but i would say SOAKED bbb lol
I always wanted at least 4, anything smaller just seems odd to me. I am one of 4 (well technically 8) & DH is one of 4. I dunno really, even with #4 on the way Im not ready to say no more.
I got fluffy mail today x 3  Haven't opened them yet, but looks like my minkee magicalls are there from BBH.
FJ - wow, that is cold where you live! I can't complain then that we got to 10 last night  although, last week our min was 20, so that's a huge difference to us. And considering I don't even own a jumper, I froze!
I would love 4 kids. I can really see myself with 4, but dh only wants 2. He wanted 2 girls, and he got them. But I want some boys.
Well DH prefers the shorties, so I'm going to try some of them out. Thanks for all that info.
Let us know how you go tonight Jodi! :)
Jodi........do let me know how the Minkees go, am dying to get a black one but want to hear some opions first...and waiting for my FTB supps to come through, then I too will be nappy shopping with about $300.
i really should look at doing my tax! only got last years return back 3 months ago... lol..
WooooooOOOOoHOOOoooOOOOO

Congrats, Skittle!!!!! woohooo
Beatrix........if you go to all products they are on page 5 $25 it is sooooooo tempting.
ness - they've been listed since Monday, which is when I ordered them.
Oh they look like Dlish's dont they!!!
hmm
*ness backs away form the computer b4 she buys any, i have way to many nappies*
JODI my bin lid was frozen shut thsi morning!!! bbrrrr cold~!!!! how are your gorgeous girls going!!?!?!?!
might go check those minkys!!
wohb greenkids which i hate but sophie picked it out!!
JODI are the minky ones the same 'cut/shape' as the smooth pul ones?
has anyone used a berry plush without pre washing it first? need to take dd to the dr about her nappy rash and so i needa take her without cream and its the softest nicest nappy i have.. any ideas on how they hold up without pre washing??
If the snap in is bamboo you should be okish, Most bamboo materials are prewashed prior to sewing, so its possible its had at least 1 or 2 washes already. I don't prewash anything LOL (that I buy that is, I prewash before I sew)
i think its hemp
I'd wait on the new magicalls. They tend to have good specials so it might be worth it. IF you can live with missing out on a colour JIC is sells out ;)
On the topic of prewashing.. will i need to prewash my longies - or just lanolise them?
You don't own a jumper Jodi!? *nelle packs her bags for Cairns*
I use BP's before their first wash, but that's usually at home, so that a leak isn't a disaster.
Do you think that Minky liners would work? Instead of fleece? I don't why it took this long to occur to me, but I just LOVE the way poop rolls off minky.
I want to know too - How are the Minky Magicalls different to the PUL ones? Do they still have the diggy-in elastic at the legs? (it digs into Riv's legs and leaves marks.)
What Large nappies are people loving for their bubs? I'm thinking I might get some more Ittis, and maybe some more BBH (since they're on special) that I can team with longies...
WORB: Sposie, because he's 'relocated' his nappies, like he relocates everything, and I can't find them yet...missing an Itti and BerryPlush at least...both brown, funnily enough!
Do you think that Minky liners would work? Instead of fleece? I don't why it took this long to occur to me, but I just LOVE the way poop rolls off minky.
you dont get out much do you Nelle  - I was talking aobut this a few months ago when Vy couldn't handle normal fibres near her woo hoo so I made minkee topped boosters...(they are for sale at a certian place too ;) ) Its been som much easier on her and YES fantastic for rolling of pooh!!!
I have something waitng for my signature at the post office...woo hooo, will let you know what it is before I turn my computer of for 5 days.
BBL need to get my perm fixed (dont ask) at the hair dressers..
**** sorry Sal - honey im so happy that your home and that the nurses likes your covers...talented woman must of made them ;)
Nelle - to answer your question about nappies on bigger bubs - I still really like my GK on him... and any of the widdlewuns too..... oh and of course BumG's.... (and I have a LOT of brands to choose from...pmsl!)
Melham - your question about GNST? I have two of them, they work pretty good if boosted appropriately, but the rise isn't as high as a Snoozywun so I worry more with DS cos of the tummy sleeping thing... but had one on him the other night and it didn't leak..
Hi all :)
for those hunting ht eLS there are about 5 listed on EBay at the moment... should be enough for all of us!! lol
I need some specials girls!! I want to buy about 5 new nappies, and will only get ones on special...so lay them on me!! lol
WOHB: Fluffle and tb cover
Haha I KNOW Maz, where is my brain? When I first thought 'hey, minky liners' I remembered that you top your boosters with minky. D'you reckon minky on its own would be good? It doesn't curl or anything does it?
WORB: Lotus night nap (I thought the medium wouldn't fit still, but it does!) & Mazalicious cover
WOSB: BBH and Tots Bots PUL.
What type do you like LimeSlice?
Do you like the pocket AIO's?
PP - anything really :) I am thinking ahead for summer here now, because it is soooo hot over here in summer she will be showing off her nappy a fair bit, so anything good looking is good :) I have a fair swag of IB AIO's and BumG's so some fitteds would be good, she willbe out of her Fluffles by then and I am in the middle of a covert operation to slowly divest us of the BWDNM without DF realising...a couple make their way to Clothie Heaven every week :) :) lol
WOHB: Fluffle and fleecey cover....cant remember wher eI got it, but I wish I could cos its velcros adn ace! lol
CLothie Heaven
NO fluffy mail for me :(
I know on NC there is a WAHM having a sale on her pockets tongight. only $16!!! PM for the link if you like! they look very cute!
What a shame I don't need any more nappies... :(
OMG NO MEL!! I never thought of you as a quitter....are you sure you dont need anymore??
I mean there could be a cataclismic explosion in your nappy pail one day and then what would you do?? you need spares! lol
LS - I went five days without any being dry after washing, and only just had to start using flats..
I think I have heaps.. lol
(except for night ones... but DH is drawing the line at that one since I've proven how good Green Kids are at night...... hmmm.. maybe I should get more Green Kids.. PMSL)
Come on!! I have to entertain myself with something!!!!
LS - I want to get some Rumparooz for summer...anyone here got one or heard much about them? Last time I looked at them was when NN launched them but they sold out that day. Got a tax cheque coming my way. Have enough work horse nappies so want some show off stuff for summer. BADLY need a LS (yes, still haven't got one!) so going to check them out too.
It's sunny here today girls, so that mouldy nappy is baking...no change yet but prepared for it to take a few days at least.
Mel! - what if your washing machine breaks and you need to go longer than 5 days without washing? Or if you get an attack of ILS (incredibly lazy syndrome, also known as Nelleitis) you could go for longer than a week! I love my Minkytimes GK's...
