    Hey girls!

We got our shipment of BBH's fitted's the other day!! Bought them at the sale price so saved a bit of money and got a free AIO with the package!! I just love the BBH's!!

QUESTION - what nappy rash creams do i have to buy to use with MCN's that won't damage the nappy fabric?? I'm thinking just paw paw ointment? Would that do the job? What about Sudocreams? are they bad for MCNs? please let me know as i would like to buy some soon.

Ren, if you find you need to use creams you need, actually MUST use liners. All creams are going to build up & have a bad effect on your nappies. So a fleece liner for those times is highly reccomended.
    Cornstarch poweder is ok though.

ok, so you don't really even need creams? What do you girls use? Just cornstarch powder? I notice J&J do one so i'll grab one of those (dont' wanna use talc!)

Ok, thanks guys...looks like different machines have very different cycles.

Gigi - it's not a delicates cycle as such, it does a pre soak, then wash, then rinse, then spin. It takes almost 2 hours and the nappies came out really clean (and there were lots of dirty ones in the load) much cleaner than my old top loader would have done. The 'delicates' cycles are different all together. This thing has like 15 different cycles! I guess it might be a bit of trial and error. Maybe I should try the 'coloureds' cycle, which is just like an every day wash and see the difference. I just thought the 'delicate synthetic' cycle would be a bit gentler on the nappies over time.

Renstar - I think most people put it in a shaker (like an empty talc container or a cheese/icing sugar shaker thingy). I don't use it though so I'm not talking from experience!

I'm very pleased with my MCN today... we went to the city for the day and had the following:

8 am - change into BBB + PUL for trip in car
10.15 am - change into BumGenius (for our first undressing at hospital!)
2pm (ish) - change into Cushie Tushies Minkee before bottle
6.00 pm (ish) - change very wet nappy for shower into night nappy (Sandmans)

I think they stood up rather well. The only leaking was the cushie tushie - but that was on him for ages in the capsule so it did ok!

I felt like shopping for MCN all day, but there's only one shop I know of in Adelaide that sells them and it was too far out of our way One other sells a few types (like pea pods) was about 15 mins walk from where we were going and because I wasn't sure what other brands they sold, didn't want to bother having the argument with DH as to why we NEEDED to go there

I took a leaf out of your book Mel (Gudism) and asked DH what nappies he liked so I can have permission to buy more! Lucky for me, he likes the Blueberries too! I reckon a few more BG wouldn't go astray either...

Now I know that Liam is still under 6kgs I can confidently get some more nappies to suit his current size...
