    Pinkpalace - Thanks for that
I was thinking about CC too and was wondering if you had disposable liners would the staff be happy to remove them for you - i dont think that is too much to ask??

I think I am going to do a heap more reading on MCNs - i do have time !! bub is due in November eeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk!!! Feeling a bit more at ease with it and definatley agree with buying a few different brands and trying them out.
AB, that is exactly what our CCC does - takes out the flushable liner and flushes it in the toddler toilet.

if you look up the Bubblebubs site, they have info on MCN adn CHILDCARE, links to various state's legisation (the Children's Services Act). Between that and the "what is in a disposable?" link at the Nurture Nappies site, i felt quite confident, when the time came to approach a CCC (i wanted them to use MCN on bilby).

I am having trouble with the WAHMNAPS site, it's like i only get to see half the text. I bet your going LIVE last night went OFF Maz! such pretties!

    PINKPALACE
i used cloth breastpads solidly for eight months - was a milk leaking machine i was! I did used some that had PUL on the outer and microfleece on the inner, Mazzies weren't available back then.

i had a go at sewing them on the overlocker - all i did was WASTE heaps of fabric. I have had success with flongies, bumjumpers, inserts, trifolds, and a small amount of pocket MCN, but the breastpads just had me swearing at the machine and having to throw the "results" in the bin!

KATONES - sometimes photography on the internet can be misrepresentative of what products really look like in real life. Itti Bittis are actually very trim. If you saw a photo of the itti bitti NEXT TO other mcn products, that would be obvious to you. You might have only seen them BY THEMSELVES. so nothing to give you a sense of proportion.

for example, on the Nappycino site and other places, sometimes people will post a phto of their stash (or many photos!!!! LOL) and in THOSE pics, you will see IB side by side with other brands.

another way around it, is to go to real life nappy meetups (ozclothnappies and nappycino) and see them when people bring along their stash to show.

there is an IB trial pack.

CHRISTY - have you used an itti bitti boo before (fitted nappy). THey are very good.

MAZ - so are both Mat and VY rashing up to stay dry fabrics? I'm up to the stage where we're MAINLY using
    - - natural fibre inners + wool outers for home, and using
    - - natural fibre inner PUL pockets for childcare and using
    - - synthetic fabric inner pockets for outings, with a flannelette liner laid inside
    - - synthetic fabric inner night nappies
With this combo, we're staying rash free

The double layer of flannelette, sewn as liners, is working really well - that meant i could keep our fave synthetic fabric MCN thank goodness!

Some of our fitteds, that HAD stay dry topped boosters, i have made our own boosters, with cotton velour as the topper - so i have "converted" them to make them friendly to sensitive skin. I could imagine you doing this (in your spare time - RIGHT!!!), but with MINKEE!

WOTBB: cute tooshies bamboo delight that i dyed PURPLE with mermaid longies, so cute!

Katones, you can always prove your 'pink' point by offering your dh a liqorice allsort and then pulling it back at the last minute - 'oh hang on, you can't eat it, it's got pink in it and you're a BOY'. Won't work if he doesn't like liqorice of course. :P

And trust me, Ittis are renowned for their trimness, if you own any of those diabolical Pumpkin Patch pants which are only designed for skinny sposie butts, you go for the Itti every time. The original itti bub is a slight kiddo, so hence a non-bulky nappy was designed.

Having said that, pretty much everything will look bulky on your newborn! Baby BeeHinds Bamboo looked HUGE on Si as a newborn, and are very trim on River. Prefolds and flanelette nappies not so bulky. I have 24 flanny flats, 24 prefolds, and some fitteds for a newborn, as well as sposies. :P If you have a bub like my first, 24 flats, a few prefolds and a few fitteds will be fine. If you have a bub like my second (spewy), you will need perhaps one million nappies. And outfits.

Right, well I have bored even myself, so I will move on.

    hi girls!
mmm long day at work! but came home to donuts so all good ! lol

Beatrix! wow only that many - how often do you have to wash them? ANd how do you wash them?
I was going off the amount of dispoables i went through a week - approx 80 (40 pairs ) a week with DD

Katones - i have sew ins. i dont mind either way to be honest. I find they dry fast enough (1 day in the sun). As for prefolds i sewed up 20 flanny/microfibre prefolds for #2

Thanks Gigi! So they wouldnt need PUL on the outside then ?

Mel - i have 2 listed on Buy for baby. Did you want me to add yours to my listing? I can do that. Just tell me how many you have and i will increase the available amount.

I dont soak my longies/shorties - i just hand wash with wool wash and rinse then soak for a few hours in the lanolised soak.

WOHB - i have no idea, she is asleep so what ever DH used during the day lol

I've never listed anything before - is it just like ebay where you upload your own pics of the nappies? Just a brief description of the item do or do you need to go into full details? I haven't really checked the site out...

NESS - i have you on my Calendar for the 27th?? and someone else for Wednesday! OMG did i write the wrong date down??? oops! i have so been looking forward to our sew up! Haven't sewn ANYTNING for ages, and my overlocker is on the blink, hopefully nothing that a service won't cure.

PINK - the breastpads i used DID have pul on the outer, and it worked. Doesn't mean that other combos wont work though. It's just the ones i had.

Maybe try soaking your shorties in teh lanolin mix a bit longer next time Pink? Just an idea.

MAZ - wow, your ladybugs covers were a huge hit! WTG Maz! Was it you who was after a MEDIUM itti bbiti boo? i just saw one, in teh colour CHAMBRAY (light denim i guess?) on nurture nappies.

MELHAM - what brand longies do you have? what care instructions does that brand have (on their website, or sent to you)? What sort of lanolin do you have - spray or solid?
If you DO go the washing machine route, use cold water and the gentlest wool cycle you have.
Most longies brands recommend hand washing.
If you want to know how i do it (and mine are not shrinking), i'm happy to email you that, or type it out here, just let me know if you want that. (i don't want to bore you with it all, unless you want it).

WOTBB: Kester Kovers AIO with purple baby leg warmers

She slept from midnight to 6am last night - wow! (with 9pm - 11.30 before that).
i should feel brandnew after six hours sleep straight, but i still feel like a trainwreck!
