Maz - that sure was freaky about the nurse dying - i'm sure it's got nothing to do with you and the complaint though.
FJ - the baby beehinds wetbag will be fab when you have a newborn, but just for Isla now, i'm sure the size of a jamtots one would be just fine and dandy. I pack the baby beehinds one for childcare (for the day) and use the jamtots one for a morning outing.
Laranna - i recommend the IMse Vimse swim nappy too, but the sizing is generous. I would avoid buying a swim nappy with aplix on it, the aplix snags on YOUR bathers i found. Grrr to that.
Melbel - great to hear from you hon!
Tracey - loving the pics of little Zy! what a stunner he is (still).
Nelle - did you mum see my list of the aplix closing AIO (her request)
Nessa - jade sounds vary vary noice. I have gotten NN FNQ mail very promptly in the past - in our neck of the woods, so i would contact them if i were you, something doesn't sound right.
Alioops - hope your car isthoos improve soon
AnnaBelle - not allowed to post links for you, but to get great modern cloth nappy info and advocacy, google
ozclothnappies
nappycino
Prefolds and flats for a nb sound fine, just make sure you have the waterproof covers, not Ye Olde Pilchers of Eons ago (easy to buy at big w etc but a big waste of money), you'll read all about the new technological advances in MCN fabrics on ozclothnappies and nappycino.
There are other options for newborn/small stage too, like fitted nappies. People start using pockets/aio's at varying ages, for lots of reasons e.g size of nb, shape of legs, how often and how explosively your newby does their business!
anyhoo welcome AnnaBelle, lots of us have either MCN'd a newborn or are doing that right now, you're in the right place.
WOTBB: whizz kidz nightz with hand knit soaker cover, baby legwarmers and cotton sleeping bag.
Does anyone here dye wool?
Is it the same as dyeing cotton?
If I was going to sell some nappies should I strip wash them first?
I don't think I have ever bought strip washed second hand nappies (they always smell like wee ) but I think I would have a guilty conscience selling my smelly nappies. I am going to sun the stains out but wondering if I should strip wash first?
Also what do you think is a good price for Original Magicall AIO's that have been used for about three months (maybe once or twice a week each)? Is $12 unreasonable (gosh I hope this okay, I am in no way advertising mods, just need an opinion)?
WOHB: WhizzKidz Nights with BBH Trifold and Maz-a-licious Skulls Cover.
Ash, do what you would finad acceptable for yourself. If you want to recieve strip washed nappies, the stripwash them, is you dont care then dont. and put a price that you would be willing to pay on them
Ash I dunno if I would pay $12 for them... TBH maybe go $10 and you'd get heaps more takers. I personally would strip wash them. But thats how I like them
Maz yep!!! I am in need, I keep giving people ones to try and I've got them all back atm and still think I need a few more. Jovie refuses to sit on the toilet, so thats a relief! She keeps telling us when she's going to do something or that she's not finished poo'ing or something like that, but hates the toilet. I hate potty's so we're not going to TT yet....WOOT!
I agree - probably $10 for a magicall and $15 for BBB/wool covers
thats my usual limit for second hands.
And ofthe 2nd hand ones ive bought i have always strip washed them anyhow.
Saram- christy, melham, pinkpalace, Gudism - mmmm help me out girls any one else close to brisbane for a meet up? Dont make it too late in october or i might go into labour on the day ! lol
Going to try out my ittis today! yay!!! (when DD wakes up - and we go to play at wynnum library for 1/2 hr and read!). Anyone want to join me?
FJ i am the same wanting to get some longies done from shannons pattern but snapped both my 5 and 6 size needles!! arrrrr... need to but more this morning! i might get a bigger size what do you think?
ash - I'm about to list my magicalls for sale as well (the small's) and I'll be listing them for $10.
Pity you girls aren't organising a meetup in early November in brissy, I'll be down there then.
I thought I'd try out a cover from someone on Ebay for Nina. Never again, it looks good enough, but it's soooo small, and it's suppose to be a large. I reckon it'll fit Emily in a couple of months I should have known better.
Jodi - this happened to me too.
I bought a wool bbh cover that was supposed to be large (tagged large) but it was the same size as a medium!
She admited aftewards that she always dried inthe sun! SO no use to me but i swapped it on... told them it was a medium although it said large.
Frustrating when this happens

AJP... Waaah dont remind me that Maddy is getting older!!! She's 10 in Nov so still 2 yrs of Primary school... We had her school roduction last night, the Prep kids look so tiny compared to the grade 5 & 6 kids! Maddy is shorter than some Preps though LOL...
A meetup for me does sound good I have alread organised to meet up with Mel (gudism) and Renee (renstar) while I'm down there, so hopefully we can combine that to a group meetup?
that is possible Jodi - is your other meet ont he sunshine coast??
Melham - leaving soon - be there about 10! Meet you inside - bring your knitting needles lol
I am trying out a cute tooshie... strange to put on! but feels nice and soft though!
Will see how it goes... like little pants more than a nappy
Thanks Gigi, Alioops & Saram for your advice - will check out the websites and get back to you with more questions!!!
Ali - you got me thinking certainly about the advantages of the A12 nappies also!!
Anyone got opinions on greenkids nappies???
What about all these "starter packs" or should I just go and buy one at a time??
Many thanks
