This might seem kinda sad, but I'm considering buying a short bit of minky to put my heat bag in. I use my Mum's old heat bag at night to warm up my toes in bed and the cover is starting to fray and I get bits of wheat throughout my bed at night!

So I thought some lovely minky would be a fabulous re-cover... I'm shocking at sewing though so i might be a huge disaster!

Thanks Gigi - that's an awesome list. I have tried the Imse Vimse ones but they don't have the PUL lining so not much better than undies and I love my Bumwear but having visions of blueberry minky trainers???? Hoping they come in minky

Yes PP - I have sold TNB but I think Sam (the new owner) mentioned getting them in so I will check with her. We arrive on the Sunday the 20th and then go up to Toowoomba on the Tues-Thurs (not sure where you are ?)

Nettie - sounds great! It shouldn't be too hard to make the bag I would use a pillow case for a pattern and then you don't need to worry about sewing a closure like a zip or buttons???

WOHB - lavender flowers Bumwear (we have been wearing our dora knickers today but haven't had much luck so back in nappies for a little while.

I'm not looking, I'm not looking. I love our Itti's but they are a little small on my chunky butts butt so I'm not even going to tempt myself. I did order a greenkids minky pocket for my SIL. I've always wanted to check them out and figure giving a gift is great excuse :-)

Have a great night out Maz!

SARAM - i thought the imse vimse trainers (both the cotton velour and the cotton ones) had a hidden PUL lining. must go check that listing again.

UPDATED: here is a cut n paste from the description for the cotton velour organic Imse Vimse trainers:

A comfortable layer of organic cotton velour of Fox Fibre? on the outside, soft elastic at the waist, two layers of absorbent organic terry cloth on the inside and a layer of polyurethane-laminated polyester keep clothes dry and allow the skin to breathe.
so the bit in bold - is that PUL or not?

and again, for the white organic cotton Imse Vimse ones
A comfortable layer of organic cotton on the outside, soft elastic at the waist, two layers of absorbent organic terry cloth on the inside and a layer of polyurethane-laminated polyester keep clothes dry and allow the skin to breathe.
So i thought that meant they would be useful for car rides and shopping trips for accidents?

QUEEN - construction worker orange - what a perfect colour description, like Milo Green or Cadbury Purple, gets the point across immed.

MAZ - so 500gm of salt for ONE item???? What if you what you dyed (various items) nearly filled a household bucket? Is that 500gm for EACH item? or are you meaning a massive item e.g a big rug?

so far i understand i need to:
    - use the stove top
    - keep water very hot, though i have no idea how long for - do i stir it the whole time?
    - use salt, but i'm not sure how much, for a bucket nearly full of various items
will do it, when i get a few more blanks filled in - (i clearly have no clue).

If i see Itti bitti fitteds 2nd hand (i gather any IB fitteds, not just the boos) in large? i'll give you the heads up Maz.

WOTBB: i gave her the choice of a purple/mint/aqua striped WHizz Kidz or a sunflower whizz kidz, she picked the sunflowers - with possum pouches longies over the top - all about to come off for The Bath.

babe I used 500gram salt for about 6 nappies and singlets and bonds suits...i just went NUTS about it I kept the water boiling until the salt was disolved and then kept it on a simmer for about an hour. I managed to even dye PUL this way (they were pea pod's that were light pink that ended up hot pink)

I wished I lived closer cause Id just invite myself to show you

Dinner was good but had to wait for Wilhelms pizza...Waitress didnt listen properly and we got the wrong thing...him thats what happens when 15 yo's are working...but it was good and the kids loved it. SIL wouldnt let us pay...she's a naughty woman but it was nice to be spoilt.

have to shower 4 kids so back tomorrow...same nappy channel
