    Hi All!

Just thought I would pop in and say hello! I'm trying to psych myself up to go clean up the kitchen from dinner but I'm procrastinating!

I can't believe it has been a MONTH since I've been in here!

Nothing too exciting to report - in other words no pregnancy to report yet!

However, James and I are off to America next month to attend my sister's wedding and visit the family. I'm starting to get really excited about that.

Only exciting cloth nappy thing to report is that James is back in cloth at night. He doesn't seem to be weeing as much at night and actually started requesting them. So WOO HOO for that!

DH did a nappy change this afternoon (something he RARELY does these days) and I got the nappy and cover out for him - I make it as easy for him as I can - and he put the PUL side snap cover on inside out! Thankfully DS did a poo before he did any wee's

Oh, and who was it that said most kids are potty trained by 13 kilos? James is not one of them. He is 15+ kilos now and still showing NO interest in the potty despite having Bob the Builder undies AND Thomas the Tank Engine undies! Hmmmmmn good thing I'm not in a rush!

Okay - better go tackle these dishes and get to bed!

WOHB: BBH hemp extra extra extra boosted with Motherease side snap PUL cover

WOTBB: bits for bots sweetdreams night pocket with bamboo stuffer, disana woollen soaker pullup

my overlocker is starting to behave, so i've been able to sew up some double layer cotton velour liners for bilbs, i've made them in a keyhole shape, so round and wide at the back (for poo) and just straight at the front. That shape is working much better. DH only had to fix the overlocker FOUR times so i could sew a few liners!!! argh! supposed to hve been serviced!!!

Welcome back LilPrecious and MummyTummy. More BB's for you
boobs (when we're talking about breastfeeding etc)
    bubblebubs
    baby beehinds
    beetlebums
so as you can see, if you don't go back a few posts, (to follow the convo) it's easy for ANY of us to get totally confuddled as to which particular abbreviation is being used at any one time.

Kaz - i hope you get some dry nappies SOON. do you have a clothes horse? or a piece of string? anythign to have them drying OUT of the weather. A travel clothesline?

Pink Palace - i'm a new sewer and the bit of sewing in MCN that gives me the most grief is the "sewing in the elastic" bit. You have to use a triple zigzag stitch, anchor the elastic at one end and pull the elastic for all you're worth, WHILST sewing it in.

THe PUL can slide around, a walking foot is recommended for sewing with PUL.

there seems to be teh inside out method of sewing mcn - do your sewing inside out, then turn and top stitch. Or the sew it the right way out method, like the overlocked edging you see on baby beehind fitteds, cute tooshies etc.

i do the turn and top stitch so no-one can see my messy bits! ha ha, for the VERY FEW bits of MCN i have sewn!!! i read about sewing MCN much more than I do it myself!! (would help to have a sewing mahcine for a start LOL). every so often i get to borrow one, until then, i'm just a frustrated sewer!!

I think the sewing of MCN is a definiate skill and art - and practise sure does help! SO the WAHM's do a great job, they MAKE it look easy!!!

I'm still stressing about what trainers to buy, and WHEN. Do i wait until bilbs shows signs and then buy in a panic, with express post. OR buy ahead and wait for her signs? I am such a doofus, i should have bought them while nappy hunt was on.

it confuses me how many to buy and what sort, when some people say "oh my kid TT-d in a week" and for others, it drags on for months. Like, if I bought a full stash, and she tt=d in a week - OMG - i would feel so guilty agbout the $$$$.

and soooo unsure what sizes to buy, considering she is 11kg and not really showing much in the way of signs. We are now showing her, the contents of her poo nappies, (she looks surprised every time) to help her make the connection that THAT is what she did, and it gets put in the loo. (we wave bye bye to the poo!!).

    i've been considering
    - waterproof outer/absorbent inner trainers for outings/in the car
    - bare bottom and tshirt for home/ non-waterproof trainers, with potties in kitchen, nursery and bathroom
    - night nappy until day trained

this is just me guessing, am i anywehre close?

do you go STRAIGHT from nappies to trainers? or is there some overlap?

and i have no idea what i would do when it comes to her childcare days.

did you get Vy the cowprint Blueberry trainers Maz? I'm very happy she's still in her catnaps butterflies! (god, i am such a sad case!!!).

Gigi - I have 2 clothes horses full of nappies! but no sun here

Need to get the hemp outside.

You know you're a nappy nut when ... you sniff the clean nappies to decide which ones go in the dryer and which ones need sun.

ARGHHHH its 7am and I haven't tidied the house for the cleaner!

I have clothes everywhere and can't find clean ones for Pip - lucky we have babylegs which make shorts nice & warm

Right thats it, Im getting rid of my Lotus NN. I don't know what it is exactly but the last 2 times Isla has worn it (last night & the other night) she wakes up screaming & crying saying ouch.
Change her nappy & she goes back to sleep no worries?! It has to be the nappy.
So now I will be down to 2 NN's (plus 2 I have that I made but they are my back ups..)
Its the only side Snap nappy I have so I am guessing its something to do with that.

oh FJ that sucks! At least she's letting you know.

I'm doing my strip wash today for the nappy swap! YAY! Getting excited about fluffy mail I just have to say I am loving my Mandy Mac's STILL.... gees they were our first nappy's we bought and because they are attached via snappy we haven't had any "sizing" issues... they are trim... not good for day care but brilliant for home use.
