Ang - it has no nasties, that's the best thing about moogoo!!! (gawd, I should get commission I reckon). But its a bit more expensive than the full-cream and skin milk which is why I use them mostly. Plus I always figure start on a low level to give myself somewhere to escalate to ....

I dunno why but Im a bit turned off of teh idea of the moogoo. Sounds great but the website put me off LOL. So many cows!
I think I would rather put breastmilk on the bum. LOL I don't mean that to come out as FF offensive just the idea of cow milk being used for so much these days.
Oh & don't get me started on Caro!

CONGRATULATIONS Katones!! Euan was 4.2kg too, he was in special care for three days and was twice the size of most of the other SC babies. Hope you're enjoying your lovely newborn cuddles and getting to use your cloth nappies for the first time.

Mel(bel), hope you're OK honey? If you are in recovery mode, just make yourself up a big plushy pile of cowprint minky and relax back in it. Like a big minky beanbag. Mmmm.

FJ - . I don't think that they actually use the cows in the moogoo... do they?

Kaz - being the resident moogoo ambassador, is moogoo non-liner MCN friendly? I'm thinking of getting some, pawpaw just doesn't cut it for the really nasty rashes, and I would love an alternative to sudocream for when it gets really yukky.

Heidi - :hugs: sounds like you're having a week like mine. Hope next cycle is the one for you babe.

Nelle - I feel well and truly basked in your radiance. (Oh wait, or is that just the UV ). I am feeling very blah at the moment so understand the need to get into the outside world. Oh, BTW - I finally had my hair cut on the weekend - it's now fire engine red baby. Hee hee.

Jols - in a front loader I use the Aware sensitive powder. 'Tis good.

I am officially over my BumGs right now. I've strip washed, stuffed more, stuffed less, etc, etc, and yet they still leak out the back. There are two in which the leg elastic is almost well and truly shot, but these don't seem to leak any more than any of the others. It seems that if the insert is a millimetre off perfectly centred then it leaks, to the point where we are having to be so ridiculously pedantic about putting them on E, who wriggles like an extremely wriggly thing and squishes the inserts up anyway as soon as he starts moving around. But they only leak every now and again, it's not every change, I'll have a few days or a week where they don't leak at all, then all of a sudden three in a row will leak, and I just can't figure out why. Grrr. It's really bugging me.

Maz, a while ago you posted a really good method of redoing leg elastic in BumGs, I can't find it, can you remind me please? What sort of elastic should I use?

WOHB: Bamboozle and Sugarpeas wool cover. And nothing else, it's bloody hot up 'ere...

maz - sure ooops was going to ask if I could bring a cover for you to fix but ummmmm maybe I'll post it out

bit worried here, Pip slept fitfully all night, woke @ 6:30 had a run around, and several drinks of water through the night, then milk at brekky, then slept until 10am, another run around and more water, more milk and he's back asleep. And his night sposie wasn't that wet, his BBB was dry enough for me to put back on after his nap and then I changed him to a zappy and he's still dry. Not sure what's happening, I can only force so much fluid into him! And no poo this morning yet.

WoHB - zappy (still) with motherease cover.

Kaz - just keep an eye on him. If his temp goes up, or he gets listless i'd be inclined to get him to a doc. Hope he pees and poops soon!!!

Maz - big hugs - I don't know how you run a business with four kids!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!

Mel - hope your finger gets better quickly!!!

Fluffymail here too - thank you oh so much 'secret' swappie person - it's gorgilicious (I'm pretty sure I know who it was from though judging from the return addy, but we'll pretend it's a secret ). Haven't tried it on his sleeping lordship's butt, but upon awakening, it will be worn with pride.

Jol's - Aware Sensitive is totally anti-nappy-washing-nasties. No brighteners, no fragrances, no enzymes, no fillers, no other yukkies.

FJ love - I was only teasing about the cows... I knew what you meant, I was just sh*t-stirring you.

Kaz - hope Pip pees and poos for you soon hon, we spend all of our time complaining about how much they poo (at least I do LOL), but as soon as they stop we worry. I hope he's OK.

Thanks Maz sweets - you're a doll. I'm going to print out your instructions and give it a go. Stupid question, what do I do with the safety pin (now now, be nice please )? Oh, hang on, I think I get it. I safety pin the new elastic to the old elastic, then pull out the old elastic, which will feed through the new elastic. Right? (Yes, I'm an idiot...).

Oh, and on labels, I like labels on the outside, especially on the back of the nappy, but they can also work well on the wings/tabs. But if they are used on the outside, they shouldn't have a separate size tag sticking out the bottom, it looks a bit tacky. Outside labels should be for branding and nothing else. Itti Bitti do it well (although they do have the size below the logo in small neat lettering, this works OK), so do Wildchild, and Beetlebums. Can't think of any others off the top of my head. If you are thinking of doing outside labels, because you do a lot of really funky, bright and patterned nappies/covers, your label would work best in a single colour (eg: white on black), and should be very simply and boldly designed with high contrast. (Sorry, the designer in me just got let out of her box, I'll shut up now ).

Christy, the funny thing is, BumGs work fantastically for us 90% of the time, it's just that when they don't, they really don't. I have such a love/hate relationship with BumGs, they work wonderfully for a while but then they fail me and I stop trusting them for a while, then I slowly build up trust again only to have it broken again. Sounds like a soap opera, right?

WOHB: a different Bamboozle and a different Sugarpeas cover than before.

I got my nappy swap stuff - THANK YOU!! I am so stoked...I got my first pair of shorties and they are way cool! Can't wait to test them...but do I need to lanolise?? Something i've never had to worry about before...better read up on it actually.

I'd love it if everyone could share what they got..what do you guys think??

    What'd you get Suse?!

Maz, absolutely agree with Suse on labelling. Keep it simple and DON'T put sizes on them...HATE that!!! Size labels should be separate and on the inside. Too weird, i was actually thinking of mentioning this to you a while back, I want people to know who made my cool covers!!

WOHB: (always forget this) - BBH and Maz fleecie cover. Maz, finding your fleecie covers work really well for us overnight Also finding that I prefer the BBH's overnight to our WC less bulk and seem to work just as well. Such a difference in a boy who used to pee through the WC in 4 hours flat!!

I agree Willow- i hate how the swaddlebees has the size sticking out the back.
I also agree with suse- definately a plain color as it will never clash with a cover!
My fave place for a label is on the bum, if however it will interfere with embroidery, then either like the berry plush, or ittibitti locations.
