I got my nappy swap stuff - THANK YOU!! I am so stoked...I got my first pair of shorties and they are way cool! Can't wait to test them...but do I need to lanolise?? Something i've never had to worry about before...better read up on it actually.
I'd love it if everyone could share what they got..what do you guys think??
What'd you get Suse?!
Maz, absolutely agree with Suse on labelling. Keep it simple and DON'T put sizes on them...HATE that!!! Size labels should be separate and on the inside. Too weird, i was actually thinking of mentioning this to you a while back, I want people to know who made my cool covers!!
WOHB: (always forget this) - BBH and Maz fleecie cover. Maz, finding your fleecie covers work really well for us overnight ;) Also finding that I prefer the BBH's overnight to our WC :dunno: less bulk and seem to work just as well. Such a difference in a boy who used to pee through the WC in 4 hours flat!!
I agree Willow- i hate how the swaddlebees has the size sticking out the back.
I also agree with suse- definately a plain color as it will never clash with a cover!
My fave place for a label is on the bum, if however it will interfere with embroidery, then either like the berry plush, or ittibitti locations. ;)
Just for you Willow...
New & Improved WOHB: Blue Dot Minky & Cookie Monster Bubblebubs, courtesy of a lovely secret swapper.
Cookie Monster?! Cool!
Our shorties are red with a bumble bee on the back...love em!
Coooooooool! :juggle:
Are they the 'trying to look innocent and failing miserably' emoticons Ange?
my rescue remedy will be in the form of a scotch and lemonade in about 5 mins babe ;)..kids are in bed and the minkee is on the floor
Willow - shorties should have been lanolised babe..I did it already..hope they fit...Mateauz has outgrown them :( (yes he is now a BIG boy)
ok as for labels....thank you all for your input. Have come to a decission that is different and hopefully noice
OK off for my scotch and to cut material (Hope it works out alright)
WOMB - BBH purple ;) (Mauws Christy) and chocolate eclair minkee cover
WOVB - IB fitted and Fairy fleecie cover
WOMyB - loads of fat!!!
Ah crapola Maz, hope they fit my little guy then :( Will try them on tomorrow....
Hi Girls!!
What do most of you use to wash your MCN and baby/kids clothes? Is Planet Ark Aware Sensitive most popular? Or Euca Powder? I'm thinking about buying a 10L bucket of the stuff as everyone seems to think it's great stuff....
I hope to chat more in this thread with you ladies when our baby is born!! Until then, i'll just keep sneaking in and out now and then :p and learning as much as I can!!
BTW, bought some MooGoo Udder Cream today and OMG it's sooo nice!! Thx for the recommendations girls I'm hooked already ;)
Willow - im sure i can send you something else if they dont fit :( Im sorry hun
AHH moo goo.....Im gonna get some of the stuff Kelly has here at the BB on line store to give it a whirl. Gotta support BB girls when we can :)
Renstar - I use what ever we use on our normal cloths...this week its Duo cause I bought a 10kg box from big w for $18 ....BARGAIN
Maz, Must be the night for nuts kids. It is a full moon though...
Sarah had a Tanty at the idea of putting a nappy on to go to the park :( I was not impressed! Then when we got home from the park she didn't want to put her night nappy on
WOTB: Cushie Tushies coutures with added boosters for night time.
Hey maz, whats your thoughts on me going this weekend? Still thinking that will be the time?
I have no idea, but Im not feeling as though anything is going to happen & DH thinks it will be well after the 10th of Nov (due on the 4th mind you lol).
I have so many little nappies its not funny. I am thinking I need to move onto making medium size ones LOL. Maz are you serious that Mat has out grown the med itti's? Thats just amazing. Isla can wear a med!!! On the second last snap but still!
I want to make something but I don't know what... I need to make more bassinet sheets, pram insert thingy, ummm curtains for the car... wet bags..
Actually anyone know where I can get those draw sting toggle thingys?
MELBEL hope your finger gets better soon!!
i had a feral kid too but i left her with DH and went to my pregnancy excersis class!!
WOHB sposie, made it easy for DH@!!
Thanks Maz! ;)

**edit** oh yeah miessence range i love that stuff great range of producst!
Don't worry babe, they look like they'll fit! I'm sure they'll be fine.:
Willow - im sure i can send you something else if they dont fit Im sorry hun
Will try them tomorrow and let you know...
Drawstring toggle thingis - spotters have 'em FJ. Let me know if you can't get them and I'll send you some...
hmmmm I knew there was a reason I just needed to go to spotlight LOL
There's always a reason FJ... ;) Love your ticker shot BTW.
I just went and looked in the laundry at ours
the Planet Ark Sensitive box says in big letters, bottom of front of box SUITABLE FOR TOP AND FRONT LOADERS.
cos we have a front loader, i always look for "suitable for front loader" on the items. several weeks ago when i did a survey of several brands in the supermarket, i DID notice quite a few for FRONT LOADERS, but i cannot remember it all now. will look again (hoepfullyu i will rmeember next time i'm there).
and i know you can get Omo Sensitive for front loaders. we've swapped from using Omo S to Planet ARk Sensitive just recently.
i'm pretty sure the EcoStore one was for front loaders too. But i'll need to read the Amolin, Purity and Earth's Choice bottles/packs again to make sure.
The moogoo soap is great, goats milk. lovely.
gearing up for Reusable Nappy Week on Friday, i'm helping out at our local event, going to take along night nappies and woollies to show whoever is interested. maybe wetbags too. wish i coudl take the LIttle Squirt! LOL
MELBEL - i hope your thumb heals well sweetie!
FJ - has your nesting included making "nappy free time mats"? you mentioned everything else! you are SOOOO well organised woman!
KAZBAH - good on you for contacting Sunrise. woot. I hope Pip's temp goes down.
ALIOOPS - got any photos of Em in the cushie tushies?
MAZ - using normal clothes detergent on all the nappies, that could possibly contribute to Vy's rashing. (have i got this right? it's Vy that has been rashy, not Mat as well?) it could be her skin reacting to the normal strength washing powder next to her skin. There are sooo many reasons and factors why bubs rash, but the washing powder one pops up time and time again, as the culprit (for many clothies and their bubs). Just a thought. The normal wash powders (for clothes) have enzymes, fragrances, optical brighteners. The sensitive powders don't have those things in them.
WOTBB: a night nappy combo that i put in the NIGHT NAPPIES BASKET all ready to go, that's what dh would have put on her.
gorgeous photo FJ!
Well we finally had a wet nappy - the zappy after his nap! And then BBB dirty. And BBB wet.
But he's definately lethargic, and his temp is rising. Was 37.6 and then 38 2 hours ago, just now 38.6 so have given him panadol, will check again in about an hour and unless its going down, we're to hossie methinks.
would you believe the Brisbane thing that was on today was on Dad's street? He phoned up to tell me about all the women with babies and cloth bums at the park.
WoHB - snoozywun
I have never taken my kids to the hospital over a temp. I guess its always been managed with panadol. But the idea of sitting in emergency for hours just makes me shudder LOL. HAte the day that I actually need to do it for a temp I can't get down!
its more that I can't take tomorrow off work as well as today, my boss is starting to get really grumpy. i wish we had family we could dump him with in times like this.
Gigi- what event is one on friday? i have the day off form kiddies! hmmmm might go google
I have two questions for you lovely ladies
Firstly, when Jett has his IB d'lishs on and does a poo it leaks straight out the sides. If it is just wee it gets all soaked up. So there appears to be a rather large gape around the leg. I have tried doing them up extra tight and just comfy but the gape doesn't change. He is in size small. It is almost like the trifold booster and hourglass booster bulk up the nappy too much between his legs so the nappy can't wrap around his legs IYKWIM. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to try next? I love the sizing and the trim fit of the design otherwise.
Secondly, I've heard you talking about wing droop.... what is it?
WOHB: Haute pocket
MummyTummy- sounds like the sewn in rather then the snap in dlish may be more suitable for your bubs... you can remove the 3 layer bamboo trifold and just change more often,.. or you could make a smaller bamboo insert youself if you know how.
as for wing droop, its when the under snap/velcro layer sag down from the wings.. does that make any sense , so its being held up but you have two wing type shapes sagging down either side
Kazbah I totally understand, I had the Family Care GP out on Sunday to our house because Matilda was up all night coughing and it was a matter of having them out or going to the hospital. She's still sick today with a temp and coughing but nothing else. I had to have today off work, and it was supposed to be my last day!!! It would be so much easier with family around... I take that back, it WILL be so much easier with friends/family around.
Jovie is laying in DH's arms atm, she's woken up with a temp as well *groan* another one bites the dust.
Thanks Beatrix, I do have a sewn in, but he keeps wetting that one rather than doing the explosive poo! Maybe he is trying to tell me something! I might try making a smaller bamboo trifold....where do I get bamboo from? I know Spotlight doesn't have it!!!
And thanks for the wing droop clarification, I thought as much but just wasn't sure!
bamboo is brought online
nappies covered, tiny toosh and snaps austalia sell it.
Hi Gals,
Had so much fun at RNW today, lots of older ladies so excited to see us out there! And only about 3 snide comments :-)
Ali it was great to catch up with you today hope to see you on Sunday!
Melbel - ouch on the finger hope your back on your feet soon.
Maz - can't wait to see your tags! I know it's late but from a sellers perspective I LOVE outside tagsbut I can understand how the tags could be annoying for others.
oops got to go
well guess what ... the brat is sick with a temp I can't keep down with panadol, so I'm off work today and will call the GP for an appt @ 8am. Gawd I hate this, not being able to work properly! DH is looking forward to spending tomorrow @ home with him ....
WoHB - KK night nappy (decided to try changing him in the middle of the night in case that made a difference)
Both my girls have temps this morning too.... so that changes everything. Tuesday is my shopping day to get stuff done while Matilda is at Montessori... so no shopping for me. I have enough food to get us through, but its still annoying.
awwww hope these bubbas get better soon
thanks gigi will check out supermarket again today!
Gigi - Sure do, but I still have to find the cable to connect my comp to my camera. I am going to have to find it soon so I can upload belly pics too!
So sorry to hear of all this sick kiddies. All of mine had temps & coughs, ear aches, sore throats etc at the start of the school holidays. So I had 2 weeks of barking dogs in the house because thats what they sounded like!
I am going to put Isla in sposies at night. She is waking every bloody night. I DON"T NEED PRACTICE!! Last night she woke crying saying ouch again. So again I got up (for the 2nd time that night) & changed her, then she slept the rest of the night.
The first NN was hardly wet, but wet enough to make her uncomfortable I guess.
I need a full nights sleep! So I am going to try aldi sposies at night again. The time I was using them at night when she had the rash she slept so much better. But Now its up 2 times a night & then she gets up & gets in bed with me. I can't have a 2yr old as well as NB waking all the time.
She is fine during the day.. Just night nappies she seems to be sick of.
Have Playgroup today, then fingers crossed I can pick up my nappy bag fromt he post office. So need a new bag fix LOL.
Rensatar I use Euca powder and find it's great! I use it for everything and the 10lt bucket lasts about 6 months. As you can imagine with my lot I do a lot of washing ;) I think you can get smaller packets or samples if you want to try it out before getting the big bucket.
Look at you FJ! Looking terrific there :D
MummyTummy if you have a gape around the leg no amount of boosting will stop poo leakage. In fact too much boosting can make it worse. Maybe give the ittis a rest till he puts on some more chub or you could use a cover over it to help with pootainment. Smalls fitted Caleb till he was about 5 months and he was no small fry so you'd get wear out of them if you did wait a little bit.
Christy and Kaz I hope your little sickly ones are better soon :crossfingers:
Melbel hope your thumb heals quickly!
Hello to everyone else! Gotta go get somewhat organised. I've bitten the bullet and decided to get a cleaner for the last couple of weeks. and they are coming at 11. It's just too painful for me to get down and do the hard stuff ATM.
 Raven thats exactly what I did.. and then kept her going... until she's worked for me for 4 years now PMSL... Opps forgot to cancel the cleaner ;) Its only fortnightly and its only floors and bathrooms but thats what I need help with, I can dust like a mad woman and clean my kitchen til its sparkling... and I can tidy up... its just doing it all at once with everything else I can't do.
FJ - Jovie's got the bark going.... its pretty funny. We went to the GP just now & he said "sounds like croup?" uh... yeah... but she didn't cough at all overnight.
WOHB: the nastiest nappy rash we have ever seen in our house... and canistan and sposie.
Oh I so want a cleaner LOL. (And I'm at home all the time - slack). I had a cleaner come to do a spring clean a while ago, then I was going to get her to do the floors & bathroom fortnightly, but she did such a rubbish job and the company was so extremely unhelpful about it that I gave up and decided that I didn't need to pay someone to do a worse job than I can do. It's hard to get the big jobs done during the day with an unpredictable sleeper, and I can't do them at night because he doesn't go to bed until close to midnight. Or I could just stop phaffing about on the computer, that might help...
Hope all the sick and sore bummed bubbies recover soon. Sending big waves of recovery vibes to all. Euan seems to be doing better now so they obviously work ;)
WOHB: Um, just for something new and different, Bamboozle and Sugarpeas wool cover. He has been changed since yesterday, I promise.
P.S. The bubblebubs rocks. It was on him all evening - from about 6:30 until he went into his night nappy at 11:00.
WOOT WOOT!!! Fluffy Mail!
My swap was fantastic!!! Thank you secret bilby ;) I got a NON-Minky IB!!! WOOT!!! Jovie did a little dance with her new nappy, it was very cute! She's sitting on the lounge crying atm, tired and sick and wants none of anything.
I got a gorgie pie swaddlebees, in my fave color! Woot! Thanks Nettie. :D
So a Qn........ How much should i ask for a brand new, never worn, never washed Zada night nappy? Was going to list it on b4b but not sure what is a reasonable asking price.... (Hope i'm allowed to ask for help on this Sammi)
