i remember reading that newborns do not have a sense of day and night, and it takes them at least a few months (might be around the ten week mark) to realise there is a difference btwn night and day.
Fee, i was using Malden Mills pockets on bilby for sleeps as a newborn. So many people say "newborns don't wet that much, don't need a night nappy" but bilbs DID wet that much! so i was glad of our MM fleece pockets for that purpose. We used dedicated night nappies quite early too, a few months old.
Pink, i would LOVE to put up photos of bilby in her MCN, but i'm not a Platinum member, so can't use photo gallery on this forum. i think that's how it works. unsure.
Arimeh, i wish i could post the link to the NN page where it explains what is in the disposables. some heavy duty chemicals are in them, that make me horrified (that they are put in products designed to be worn by children).
Yes, Ecapris is due very soon!
Katones - yeh for the outing in cloth! i take along a portable changemat too ($8 at baby target), JIC you hit a parent's room with a yuck changing surface. Often it's a changetable that you swing down from the wall. (like a hideaway ironing board) esp in disabled loos (to save space). When you need to change baby, you are not near any loos, or the weather is conducive, we just stop the car and find some shade, change bilby on the grass (using the portable changemat). If you are caught short, with stuff all on you in the car, we always have a bamboo terry flat in the car, and if desperate, will change her on that. I also keep a "spare nappy bag" in the car, with one of everything in there.
if you have a LONG day out, i pack two nappy bags, go back to car at lunchtime and swaps bags. (well that's what i did with a newborn - when you do heaps of changes). now bilbs is older, i don't need to do that, cos the volume of changes is way down.
the baby beehinds wetbags are a good workhorse. Not a gorgeous pretty fabric (a pleasant enough plain purple), but very sturdily made, zip that will withstand MUCH washing, good sized loop, good sized bag. and good price.
NaNa, i will sleep much better tonight knowing you have a RED wetbag, all is right with the universe now. Alas there are no wetbags with bilbies on them, or else i would own it! but we survive nonetheless. The cowprint lovers are looked after, cos several brands do cowprint wetbags e.g greenkids.
i always say hello to our CCC's cook, she is so nice. Have you been tempted by any RED nappies of late

sam it was surprisingly quietish there today!! must have been the rain that scared people off, they didnt have what i needed to a bit of a wasted trip!!
Gigi - I requested red Wild Child night nappies! I'm in the middle of making a couple of taggies for DS with red and black ribbon on some super-squishy snowy white chenille fleece. I'm wearing red sparkly shoes (think Dorothy in Wizard of Oz and you're spot on, but no heels!) and red lipstick, just because. The madness will never end...
pimp yo wetbag! Bilby keytags or something?
OK, gotta go stuff pockets and origami some flats. The pile of laundry is fast becoming an OH&S problem!
WOHB: BBB and rainbow tots bots fleece cover, coz he just might sleep tonight. Or not... wouldn't be unusual.
OMG its so good to get online after 2 weeks of not being ables to get on, the first week because we were busy & DD wanted to be held 24/7 then this last week because we've had problems with the wiring in the rental we are in & have had no power all week in the laundry, lounge & bathroom. So no internet for a week & not being able to wash nappies has driven me just about insane
WTG Maz on the first steps
Good to see you're still around Sam, not long to go now
