Thanks, I might try the Tea Tree Oil thingy. And I might do the rinsing,... if I have to. It's just that then I have to either carry a dripping nappy to the laundry or remember to take the bucket into the toilet before getting it all wet. And I'm not the best at remembering things,..... I'm a bit special sometimes... So, do you take the inserts out and rinse them and the nappies seperately?

A friend of mine just told me that she doesn't drypail her MCNs. She puts them in a bucket full of water and canesten rinse. Is that alright to do? Does it not affect the PUL or elastic? How about residue causing rashes?

By the way, my nappies don't smell when washed. But they do seem to smell quite strong once they get weed on. I use soapnuts to wash them. I did use Aldi trimat front loader detergent in the beginning, but have since gone off the smell of that. Soapnuts seem to agree with me better as they don't smell. I sometimes add a drop of lavender oil (or rose geranium) to the little bag that you put the nuts in. But mainly for my normal clothes, not nappies. I do line dry nappies, outside if possible, inside on a clothes horse when it rans. I do sometimes have to "finish" them in the drier when we have rain for a few days as they take forever to dry and my stash isn't that big - yet.

By the way, Gigi, your Tax story is absolutely shocking. You poor thing. I hope you can sort it out. You shouldn't be responsible to pay his debt unless he's declaring bankrupt (not that I know the legalities). But I do know that the tax office is usually very cooperative when it comes to paying off your debt over time. They rather get the money eventually than never. So I would do what the others have said: talk to an accountant, definitely give your DH a piece of your mind, and talk to the tax office. As long as you're making an effort to communicate and solve the situation, they should be helpful.
