    re: dh's tax BS
i have filed EVERY bit of paper i can find, for him, for the accountant, but there are MISSING bits of paper e.g group certificates, superannuation documents etc. DH won't ask for copies (!!!!). He lives in a land called delusion, where "things will turn up". (!!!). And he insists in entering EVERY possible receipt for claimable deductions in a database of his own making, which is just see as a stalling tactic - he spends FOREVER on that database, it never ends, and while he is fiddle faddling around with that, he is NOT searching for the only two thigns that are essentail (to me) to file a tax return - ergo the group certificate and the super documents.

If i had those two vital bits, I would take them to his accountant myself! I thought when he stopped having his own business, (4 yrs ago) and worked for someone else, that the tax return would be much simpler. but no, it's still a nightmare every time. Last time i got him to do three years worth, JUST before bilby arrived. so much stress.

I didn't get told bilby was too old for nappies, i got told she was too old to be PHOTOGRAPHED in a nappy. but stuff that, she WAS photographed today, in her xmas pinnie dress with a red minky nappy peeking out at the back. ANd as a xmas fairy too.

Dh was such a pain at the photo shoot, he would not shut up, raving on about photo stuff like he was a professional photographer! i was so embarrassed. I have taken THOUSANDS of pics of him and his daughter, for years. i have taken heaps of pics of him and bilby. i thought today, seeings i paid for it and it was my idea, that for a change, there would be some shots of me and bilby together. I've never had 21st photos, wedding photos, none of that, so this photo shoot meant alot to me. I esp wanted breastfeeding shots, cos i have no idea when she will wean. but i ended up being the one to entertain bilby, find props and toys to distract her, dress her in different outfits, get her snacks and drinks etc, so as usual most shots were of dh and bilby. I must sound like the most ungrateful cow, but dh sure has been getting on my wick alot lately. i can put up with quite alot, let things slide, but when i get hit with a big $$$ debt due to his actions, This Is Serious Mum.

LIL PREC - keep safe, i hope you are enjoying visiting your relatives, adn CONGRATS for becoming pregnant, that's great.

Beatrix - anyone would think you live in a house ready for inspection!!! ha ha

that must have hurt when Annika ignored you - hugs to you hon.

Katones - is Jack on the same formula that constipated him, or have you been given a new one to try? i hope his poor tummy settles down soon. Ouch for him.

NaNa and Suse - i wanna join the Anal Retentive ROYGBIV club too, the order is important to me too.

hallloooooo AngeA! where are yoooooou? hope you are not missing cos of awful morning sickness or something

wonder how much longer for ECAPRIS and RAVEN?? good luck both of you!

wotbb: not talking to dh, so don't know. he who is fine with mcn, hopeless with taking responsibility for tax returns. i know he is paranoid about NOT giving bilby ANY nappy free time, so i can safely say, she won't be naked in the cot.

Ness - I love the new colour in your kitchen!!! Makes the sunlight go further IYKWIM. And MJ is stunning as always!! and as for Annika not giving you a hug, here is one from me

Maz - *wolf whistles* I think the lovely Bath is very good at these avvys. she must have a paid membership to get all the extras she uses!! And I think it is soooo cool that your Tshirt in the av says Maz a licious!! Very clever Bath!!!
And that Mateauz (tutututut) was it on the carpet?

Heidi - OMG WOOHOOO!!!! That is freaking awesome!!! !!

Em had a roll of poo again!!! WooHoo!!! I hope they stick around this time!! Sarah is still not 100% so unless she is completely better by morning she is having the day off daycare. Sigh.

I loaned a friend one of my CTs today to try on her massive 5 week old boy. he was on the last of the fold down snaps!! So now I have changed a boy baby!! And I didn't get peed on!! I am loaning her the smalls I have already got and some extra boosters and if the CT lasted well on him then she is going to put in a decent order!!

to the lovely Saram. Hope you are feeling a bit better now hun. Dont feel guilty, as I said **** happens. And they do keep an eye out for the one time the gate gets left open. I hope you fall in love with one when you do go dog shopping hun.

Congratulations Heidi, did it happen in the states or before you left?

GiGi, rip the house apart & find those documents. If you can't find them, call the employers your self & request copies. If DH wants to be a child about it all, then solve the problem like a parent.

Well, Mandy Mac's don't cut it as a night nappy for Iain. Not for how uncomfy they look.
I think I will just have to stick to heaps of boosting & frequents changes till he is a little bit bigger. I will weigh him (for the first time since we were discharged LOL, 4th baby you know) on thursday. Will be interesting to see how much he is. He was 4350 born & 4040 at discharge which was day 4.
He is 2 weeks today. Wow it goes fast!

WOHisB- Prefold & PUL cover, both made by me. The prefolds I am loving now. I made them with sherpa & they are fantastic!

Heidi - congrats! Heres to a happy and healthy 9 months!

I also got the email from IB - I ordered 2 sets of snap in boosters for my IB dlish, and cause its BOGOF, I'll get 4 sets!

Was at my mums place over the weekend, and the lady that lives across the road came over to talk to me. She has just started a business selling inserts made out of bamboo and hemp for the eenee nappies? Has anyone used the eenee nappies before?

I've used the eenee pouch pants on DS, but they didn't work for us. Maybe better for older bubs? There was just no way that little pouch was going to keep clean and dry!

Sarah is still not better so she is home from childcare. Sigh.

    WOEB: Mommy's Touch AIO.

ETA: Kat, a lot of the gold formulas do constipate bubs because they have extra iron. I would try him on the standard one.

Congratulations Heidi!! That's top shelf news!!

Oh Gigi, I so wish I could jump on a plane and spend a couple of days photographing you and Bilbs just the way you want it. Oh, and you don't sound like an ungrateful cow at all hon, I can understand just how upset at DH you would be. It sounds like it has not really sunk in just how great an impact his lack of tax action is having on you, and how much the photo shoot meant to you. Especially now, you really needed this to help boost you. I would be feeling pretty let down too.

It is official - I hate teeth!!! For the third night in a row Euan was up for most of the night, although it wasn't so bad last night, he did sleep for three and a bit hours in a row at one point. The previous night he woke every forty minutes, except for one two hour stretch. I've ordered a teething necklace in the hope that it will do what hylands and braurs homeopathic teething relief, bonjela, sm-33, panadol, nurafen and horse tranquillisers have thus far failed to do. (And he has now just gone to sleep so I am going to bid you all farewell for now and go and collapse on the couch...) Mwahs,

Heya girls, been a while since I popped in, hope all are well!

Have a question - we are having an issue with DS breaking out in a rash, it has happened 3 times in 8 weeks and we can't find the cause. It looks a bit like the measles rash, ends up everywhere - even on his hands and feet, and once even in his mouth! It usually lasts around 5-7 days and then clears up.

Thing is, it always starts in his nappy area...I'm starting to wonder if this is some sort of a reaction to something in his nappies??!! Anyone ever heard of this??

The other drama we are having is stinky, stinky nappies! I've strip washed 4 times, once leaving them out in the sun for almost a week which did the trick, but the stink factor is slowly coming back. BumGs are the worst culpirt to the point I'm thinking of slowly replacing them or just replacing the microfibre inserts. Just brought 2 more d'lish so now I have 5, these don't seem to smell as bad.

what sort of strip wash are you doing? I found I needed to do a bicarb / vinegar one to get rid of the stink. I even resorted to soaking all my boosters in nappy sand.

As for the rash..... Maybe its food related?

    Hello girls,
Geez, I can't keep up with you. You're such a chatty lot! So please forgive me if I forget to comment on some things.

Gigi, you're so not an ungrateful cow. You are reacting the way most people would. You are frustrated and irritated. I have been much more ungrateful to DH over much less... I also know what you mean about the photos. I'm usually the one taking photos, so most of them are of DD and DH. And if he does take a photo of us, I usually look horrible (one eye half closed, looking kinda stoned, looking down with 4 chins,... he never thinks to tell me to change something and then take another shot. He thinks they are good photos..)

Alioops, Maya never does roll-off poos. i wish she did. They are always creamy in consistence. Sometimes downright runny. And she's almost 18 months (still BFed).

    Heidi, congrats on your pregnancy!!!

Was it Ness with the lovely clean kitchen photo and the gorgeous girl sitting on the counter??? I'm jealous of the clean kitchen and your daughter is jsut sooooo adorable.

Talking about clean, on the weekend, I finally cleaned up my home office. It ahs only been about 1 1/2 years. There were things piled so high on the desk, I couldn't even see the desk anymore (and it's a big around the corner type desk). I can finally see the desk and the floor!!!! I'm so excited. DH tackled the spare bedroom which had become a dumping ground for him when I went to Germany recently for my brother's wedding (my family lives in Germany). So the place is really getting there...

I can't remember who made a comment about my mum coming to stay... But the thing is, when my mum is here, I'm not allowed to pay for ANYTHING anyway. She insists on paying for all the groceries, etc. So saying "if you wanna use disposables, then you've gotta pay for them" just wouldn't work, as she would do that anyway... I just had really hoped to get her support with the whole cloth thing and maybe even convince her that it's a great thing and very cute,... but that will be hard to do if it's so smelly. But now that it's not raining so much anymore and not so humid, it doesn't seem quite so bad. I can leave the door that goes from the laundry to the backyard open, with just the screen door closed, so it gets lots of fresh air and it's not so smelly. I have only jsut made my breastpad contraption, so will tell you how that works out.

I have another question: I think you girls were right, Maya is teething. She seems to have very nasty poos. Her bottom is so red and a little swollen. I never used to struggle with nappy rash apart from once, when it was really bad and persistent. I have a "miracle cream" my friend sent me which worked well back then. It is pretty lotiony, not a barrier cream. Can I use it sparingly with cloth nappies? Would it be safer to get flushable liners to protect my nappies?
Also, I have noticed that Maya's bum gets red if she's been in cloth over night (BBB with wool cover). Should I get microfleece liners to keep her bottom drier?

WOMB: nothing exciting, pastel green Peapod, but will need a change soon.

    Saša

Katones they do have ordinary Nan! I saw it at bigW a few weeks ago for about $11.99 a tin. I remember thinking wow so that's how much cheaper a "non gold" formula is!

I even resorted to soaking all my boosters in nappy sand
Gees that would make them a bit rough

I've soaked boosters in nappy san too but I won't do stuff with elastic or PUL. It's one good reason to get the snap in AIO's I guess.
