Erm this cloth buying is going to be hard lol

Another ? or two (sorry your all going to be mighty sick of me soon) -
Whats the difference between night nappies and 'day' nappies? My boys always wake up with sposies choc full of wee so if I used cloth for nighttimes I would need something mega absorbent or easily boosted so they dont wet through.

Can you interchange inserts? I have some of the BBH inserts etc for my bumG pockets, will I have to turf them and start again or could I use them with whatever I buy, provided they are pockets?

As for drying nappies, are any of them mega hard to get dry? Obviously not a total issue up here as its super hot and things dry within an hour of being on the line (we own a dryer just in case though) but it would be a factor in what I end up buying.

Also, is it hard to resell MCNs? Because Gage is our last bub so if I MCN him from birth (and my bubs grow fast!) and buy newborn size nappies then I'll be lucky to get maybe 8wks of use out of them before they are relegated to the cupboard forever. Id have to resell them to make it worth my while. Unless there is a nappy that fits newborns to say 8kgs so I wouldnt have to change sizes?

Ok I'll back away now lol

anna - Emily has grown very quickly as well. I skipped the newborn size altogether, and she was only in smalls for about 8 weeks at the most. She is now starting to fit into larges. MCN do resell very well, considering you have good brands. Which is why I stuck with itti bittis and baby beehinds. Bum G's are very popular as well.
When Emily was outgrowing her smalls, I sold them all, and bought mediums. I was lucky enough to be able to sell them to people on here.
With night nappies, I've only used bbh bamboo fitted with a fleece cover. I use both boosters in it, and it works for me.
I have a heap of Maz's fleece boosters which I use as well for either magicalls or bbh. When Emily is going down for her big sleep during the day, I'll generally put her in a magical with a booster.
All the nappies I have dry really well. But like you said, we're fortunate enough to get lots of sun, so drying time is only really an issue during the wet season (which is when your drier will come in handy).
Most of my stash are bamboo fitted, which are a one size fits all. These are really handy as it doesn't matter what the size, they'll usually fit.

since theres been so many questions abt nappies, mind as well i add mine too!!

we've only got 11osfm for bub atm, so lookin to gettin more to build my stash. What would u recommend? i like pockets n preferably after wahm-made ones...dp doesnt like the idea of sized so hopefully i can find something that will last longer than jst a few months.

can someone enlighten me with use of fitted? i didnt like the idea of using a cover but figure that when he starts wettin heavier, it would be better?? or could i jst boost my pockets more n itd work the same?

lately dragon's been leakin thru his BGs, could it be that i need to use the next snap or need more inserts (im only usin the 1 atm)...talkin of which, hw would i decide whether i need to use the next snap??

for those with 2 in cloth: is it harder or pretty much the same as 1? we're plannin to have another within the next year so jst wanna look ahead :P

Sorry for all the questions, just thought id get it out of my system n get some answers haha

Would turning my snap in boosters over to the bamboo side help Em or would it just scratch her? I only have 1 more non synthetic inner and she has just pooed so I have to change her already.

WOEB: Bubble J and Loch Ness Madness cover - Soon to be Cute Tooshie and Loch Ness Madness cover.

ETA: Well considering BB crashed immediately after I posted this and was down for 9 hours I decided to try it. I think the blisters are settling after almost 24 hours with no synthetic fibres on her bits. If they come back while I am doing ti though I might try eliminating wheat because she did have a minor allergic reaction to it when she had her testing, it was only a matter of time before she starts reacting when she eats it.

    Hi All!

What can everyone tell me about kissaluvs? I'm eyeing a few on B4B and wondering if I should try to get a few for this bubba! I've heard some of you RAVE about them... are they the bomb for newborns? I don't know much about them!!!

I can't believe I'm still awake - I'm exhausted and intended to go to bed at 9:30pm but got sucked into ER!!

Teru - I have mostly OSFA. Personally I find OSFA easier with 2 because then it doesnt matter what I pull out of the drawer, it will fit. My girls can be heavy wetters too. I find that a fitted lasts just as long as a pocket or an AIO in this house. Em ended up in one at about 11pm last night with extra boosting because it doesn't have a synthetic inner. I think fitteds are the best during the NB stage, but not much difference when they are doing roll off poo.

Anna - Absolutely you can switch inserts!! I use BumGs with Greenkids inserts all the time! Most of our nappies are snap in boosters, and DH will check them for absorbent materials, but he doesnt always put the ones that go with said nappy and I like them to match Just a little obsessive about that but they work fine when they don't match! I have not had trouble getting things dry either. I usually put the washing on airers inside so I dont get burned and then I might put them on the back patio or just leave them inside and they are dry really fast. Sometimes I do use the dryer when I have left it to the last couple of nappies but that is not all the time. Have a look at buyforbaby . com . au for second hand nappies.

Maz - Thanks hun, Get well vibes!! Do whatever works hun, I am thinking I may end up doing that for lochia!!

Jodi - Maybe occasionally put a not too bad nappy in Nina's bucket and then she might switch and then use her own?
