one of my snaps on one of my fave nappies broke today so I need to wash that nappy and then get it fixed It sucks!!

Maz - I will get DH to drop a parcel in the post box on the way to work tomorrow. There is a pressie in there for Nikolaus and some fluffy mail. Just trying to find the right words for his card!! I have to get something for a special person still but that needs a bit more thought. I think you will put what you like best on Mat and he will look great. I think he is proud of his big bro.

Anna - It depends on how you want to fold them. You can have pad fold in the cover, which is the most absorbent and easiest , or you can spread out the back and snappi or pin it and then put on the cover, or you can fiddle around and find what works for you.

Well I had better keep looking for this verse for Nikolaus' card!!

WOTB: DH did it, No idea!!

Ali - I have a snap press so no worries! I don't have a huge array of colours but have some basics.

Anna - we used a pad fold for out prefolds, basically in thirds. The offer is there if you want to see some in real life, I even have a few you can try if you like we don't use them so much any more.

PP - I know what you mean, I have a Baby Kanga here waiting for me to be game enough to actually undo the stiching. I think Bubblebubs do floating elastic, which is basically tacked at one end and then the other so should be easy once you find where to unpick from. Have you tried contacting bubblebubs to see if they can give you a starting point. I think you need swimmers elastic too it's more durable I think

Sarah, it is a black one. I have both pieces of it sitting on the table. I have to drop by your place soon with some stuff for you anyway so once I have washed the nappy I will call you and make sure I can pop in, and I will make sure the gate is shut properly!

Maz - I found that verse!! I am so happy I did coz it said exactly what I wanted to say!! I think you will cack yourself laughing at the number of stamps on it coz it was 532 grams, so twice as much as posting 500 grams or less The entire top of the envelope is almost covered in stamps!!

I think I will try cotton prefolds with a bamboo booster in the middle on Em tomorrow. Surely she shouldn't react to cotton. I went grocery shopping tonight and nearly bought some gluten free bread for her, But it had dairy in it If she is reacting to wheat this is going to be harder than I first thought!! I might need a breadmaker!

Bought some eco-sposies for our trip tonight too. I hope mum lets me put them in their compost bin for the worms to destroy. Dad might need convincing though

Anyway I am getting cold so I had better go and turn the AC off!

    Sounds like a plan Sarah!

Hmm just noticed your Nappy Bucket link in your sig lol You make it in big writing and I *still* take forever to see it, methinks I need new glasses.

Dh better take away my atm cards, another sale means more MCNs to buy

ETA - Ali, yay for getting to 13wks, 2nd trimester here you come eh!

Ali - seriously how can you be cold! Are you in the same town as me????? I'm sure I have some black ones will have to check. I tink I have some gluten free dairy free recipes here somewhere will have a look for you.

Anna - technically I'm not the Nappy Bucket anymore ( I sold the business in June) but the new owner is still in Townsville - so no postage costs! I am just waiting for the market place membership to expire. Did you know Baby Beehinds is in town also? In garbutt. And cuddles in cloth and Ali of course there are heaps of us in town!!!!

Sarah - The AC was on for a few hours blowing right on me. Inside my house it was 22 degs and has now climbed to 24 since turning it off. At around 23 I start to get cold. Maybe you should come over and cool off? You know I always have them on. The girls have theirs on overnight but not on extreme cooling, just enough to be comfy overnight and in the morning.

Anna - Going by LMP it is 13 weeks today, but going by O it is 13 weeks on Saturday. Janine is happy to go with my O related EDD which I am happy about!! Seriously how fast are these 2 coming!! Time is flying!! I have warned DH about what you said about Janine, He is half expecting someone with spiky pink hair and tats and piercings everywhere!! I just said she was a bit punk, and he would not associate her with Nurse the first time he sees her!!

Nappy related.... ummmm.... I need to soak some of my boosters in nappy san. they are panadol grey. So to do that I would nappysan then strip wash?

GL today Maz! Take lots of pics!

Ali, Janine is going by my latest EDD even though I reckon Im due end of March. Gives us more time to go over as apparently the Docs are antsy to induce once you hit 40wks and a few days! Always good to sneak a few extra's up your sleeve hehehe

I knew BBHs was up here Sarah and must be why my order was shipped so fast yesterday. I cant wait to get all my fluffy mail, Im so excited hahaha I think Im pretty much set now for nappies and covers and such. Out of curiousity how much do you guys have for 2 kids?

ETA - I hope you guys dont mind but I saw PP mention Cloth'd Up closing down and getting rid of stock cheap so I emailed to see what they had left and managed to score 5 small nappies, 5 medium nappies and 3 newborn covers YAY! So once I make an order from Maz I should be set for covers and nappies. All up I think Ive only spent maybe just under $900, is that decent? I was expecting more so always a bonus when you surprise yourself with savings

I cant thank you all enough for your help, I really appreciate it!

Anna - that's great you're getting all set up. I spent about $500 on nappies and covers to set up initially, but that was only for 2 in cloth.
As for how many I've got, I have about 50 bbh bamboo fitted (I used to have about 60), I have 30-40 magicalls (can't remember, they're in the wash) and about 6-8 itti bittis. I have about a dozen covers each for the girls. Even though Nina hasn't been in nappies for a few months now, I still have her covers. I don't think I'll part with some of them, Maz custom made them for Nina, with her name on them, and they're extra large.

I have finally caught up with my washing. I have been very slack lately with folding. But after visiting Suse yesterday, and watching her fold her nappies while we were there, I thought I'd better do the same when I got home. So thanks Suse for encouraging me Even though you didn't even realise you had encouraged me! lol

ali - I dunno, I guess you would need to strip wash after having them in napisan?? I just use the sun to get my stains out.

maz - Good luck today, and I hope Nickolaus has a fantastic day!! Can't wait to see some pics. I was going to ring you today for something, but figured I'd wait till Monday. Did you get that parcel? I got an email to say that it had arrived to you.

Lol Jodi - I didn't realise I was such a good influence. I only do it because it's chaos attempting to do it at changing time when E is leaping around the change table. BTW - have a guess what I had for breakfast...

GOOD LUCK Maz honey!! I know it will go wonderfully well and your boy will make you an even prouder mum!!

PP - congrats on fixing the elastic!! Well done!

Anna - well done on your stash score. That's fantastic getting enough nappies for three in cloth for $900.

I've just discovered one of the fabric stores near my place has a 'sewing lounge' (you can go in and use the machines by the hour), including a couple of overlockers. So I might get myself some bamboo and make some boosters and inserts. Although I might practice a bit first, never used an overlocker before LOL.

Had a rough couple of nights - E has been waking with tooth pain. So I was up at 2:00am last night, after an hour of unsuccessfully trying to get him to sleep I finally resorted to Nurafen. But it's the first time he's had to have it since he's been wearing the necklace, so that's a good thing. Hopefully the darn molars will be through soon!

Suse - A sewing lounge!! That is so cool!! I'd love one for occasional overlocker use, although I am getting the hang of using zigzag stich for similar overlock-looking-ness...

Maz - Can't wait to see you baptism photos!! Oh, and I am sooooooooooo excited about your "nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more..." hehe.

Jodi - I find the folding to be the worst part of 'washing' I just haaaaaaaaaate it & it's not unusual to find piles of clean clothes about the place....

PP - Oooh on replacing the elastic, isn't it great when you can fix something well & feel all proud & self-sufficient?!!

Annna - Sounds good to me! I am jealous of all the fluff you'll be getting soon!! Sounds like you've got a lot of MCNers to hang out with up there!

    Gotta go, Punk awake...

    WOPB: STILL sposies.

Maz - DH forgot your package!! I am slightly UNIMPRESSED!! Considering his watch was right next to it and he took that!! The nappies were sitting on the kitchen bench so there is a slight chance of one having some cocoa powder on it, but I hope I didn't spill any . I know today will be just perfect. Give Nikolaus big kisses from me!!

PP - Well done!! I have a nappy that needs new PUL (I dried it on low and it still lifted off) so I am in the process of pulling it apart and salvaging the microfibre to make a booster. It is not much good for anything else without the PUL.

Well Em still has a few blisters Thinking about putting hydrocortisone cream on her and taking her to the Dr to see if there is anything else that could be causing it. Nothing is working and having her in sposies takes a week to clear it. I am changing her regularly, avoiding wheat ATM (which severly restrics what she can eat) and tunring her boosters over so that the bamboo is against her bits and it is not helping anyone have suggestions?
