I have no idea Mel, I have a chance to buy some and the person is calling them 'new' haute pockets as in new design.

Hmmm maybe she means the breathable ones over the traditional?

In which case I have the breathable ones - can you ask her if thats what she means?

    Hi again -

When I was listing what I have for the new baby I totally forgot to include the OSFM nappies that James is wearing that the new baby will be able to wear as well.

I have 5 (I think) BBH hemp nappies
I have about 8 (I think) BBH bamboo nappies
I have another Abby Gro busy bee nappy

Are the nappylicious nappies OSFM? I have one of those if they are...

And I'm not sure what all else and the nappies are all in the cupboard in our bedroom and James is asleep in there so I can't go count! Perhaps tomorrow I will count them and add them to my stash and see if I really truly need to buy any more nappies!

I've washed all the newborn clothes (0000 and ooo) yesterday and today and I defintely don't need any more clothes for this baby. If I have a girl I will still be set because my best friend from mother's group had a girl (and isn't having any more children) so she has been loaning her daughter's clothes out to anyone in the group who has a girl.

I have no feelings yet one way or the other as to what this is but secretly I wouldn't mind having another boy! Either way though I'm praying for a happy and healthy baby!

I remember the other nappy related thing I needed to ask - what is the weight range for the Tots Bots Flexi Wraps if they are size 1???

Apparently the new Haute pockets have snap closures and are slimmer fitting in the crotch, as opposed to the old ones?

back when i was investigating the Narrow and Wide crotch nappy scenarios - i remember 15 - 17 cm being the width that were too wide for us, and 12 cm wide was just fine n dandy.

i think of happy heiny, bumgenius, greenkids type "full coverage" nappies, as the wide crotch

and swaddlebees (the sized ones), itti bitti, as the narrow crotch styles.

i cannot work out why so many kids can handle BOTH wide and narrow crotch styles, cos from hearing what is in people's stashes, this is what i notice. So obv bilbs is a freak.

just my potted empirical research, after having a bub who even when she had the three rolls of fat on each thigh, still had and still has a narrow crotch as a two year old now.

BEATRIX - if you're lurking - i didn't know you had a LS! i could have sworn you told me you didn't have one (due to inquisitive big sisters). good luck with move/xmas confusion etc.

HEIDI - nappylicious are a OSFA nappy, just google the name, and the website will come up.

for the flexiwraps by tots bots, nurture nappies sell them, look up that website, click on covers, PUL, or search by brand for TOTS BOTS, and the weight ranges for each size will be listed.

WOTBB: royal purple kester kovers AIO night nappy and a singlet - bit muggy tonight.

any single mummies on this thread?
i have worked out, if i leave dh, rent (the cheapest places i can find) will be 50% of my income. Does anyone else pay THAT much in rent? Can you survive like that? am i being a wuss, or is 50% a BIG percentage to be paying in rent?

AnnaT - the old Haute pockets were out about 15mths ago and were replaced by a much trimmer design and are now Australian owned whereas before they were UK owned. They come in snaps and velcro but the snaps only have a weight imit of 13.9kg and the velcro 16kg. I would def check if they are breathables or traditional, some people don't like the breathables although I find they work fine. Are they new or second hand? If second hand or on ebay or such you might ask for a photo of the inside of the PUL as the first batch of Hautes had a lot of problems with PUL lifting from the inner of the nappy. I have 3 hautes, I like the fit but they are sometimes difficult to stuffwith the two microfibre inserts I have some tips though if you go ahead. I often use a BumG insert in mine now.

Lilprecious - I think it depends on how often you want to wash too. I only had 24 flats and 5 MCN but I washed everyday and threw them in the dryer at night and was fine.

Oh swim nappy - Imse vimse have snaps on one side which I like as DD can step in one side and do up the other side.

    Arimeh -

I noticed that my Green Kids and Happy Heiny SEEM to be leaking around the legs/crotch area... not sure if I'm not stuffing them properly - or if I'm leaving them on too long - or what!!

Off to play with DS as he is building with his train set AND the fish tank needs some serious attention plus I should do some housework as friends of mine have arrived from the states today and will be here for dinner tonight!

I will also try to get into the nappy cupboard and sort out and count how many OSFA nappies I have that can be added to the newborn stash.

WOHB: Swaddlebees that probably needs changing by now

Heidi - the only time I have noticed mine leaking around the legs is if I have left it on too long - or if he's had a couple of really big drinks, done a HUGE wee - and the inserts have bunched up towards the middle - because they are sooo full - and then the next time he pees - there is nothing there to catch it... YKWIM?

So it could be something like that - especially if he is a big mover and shaker like mine is

Or the PUL might need resealing.. in which case chuck it in the dryer - that usually fixes it yeah?
