bea - i remember a while ago you gave a nappy rash cream an awesome review, what was it? moo goo doesnt work ATM, i hve been altrnating it with miessence barrier balm, paw paw ointment and sudocreme to no avail. I think we have the rash mainly becaise every nappy is still the newborn explosive poo!
mel - i am going to getone of those eco bubs as soon as i have a bit of fundage, havent even had a chance to fill in the baby bonus forms yet!
fj - that is so low, what kind of absolute low lives steal cubby house from playgroup ffs? I truly hope karma comes their way. is some fundraising being organised to replace it?
as for bling - thinking i would like a bling cover instead of a nappy, more use iykwim.... knowing my luck each time she wears a bling nappy she will poo straight away - didnt even get to show off her maz xmas covers,it was too cold! (global warming my butt!)
Kitt3n- its called o****ite flex, its not a cream its like a second skin you put on over the rash, its clear and breathable.. not the best with real runny poos unless you can apply well, cant have any crinkles and cr@p. it can be difficult to apply but is great if the rash is causing pain because it allows them to wee and poo without it coming into contact with the rash
we been using it at night the last few days.. got it sorta cleared up and i decided to use paw paw during the day.. well her bum was worse then ever yest so back to just using the opisite
No nappy news here. I washed all the wools yesterday - so had DS back in his longies last night. DH was worried they would be a bit hot on him, and I'm like.. nah.. they're wool.. they'll breathe!!!!
He seemed to be ok. Only woke up once that i know of and that was because the cat was trying to sit on his head.
WOAB: Cuddlebums & BBH wool cover
WOMB: Rockmelon sewn in IB that has huge holes in the sewn in booster so I have a microfibre booster attached to it as well. Fingers crossed it does her nap.
mel - if i ever won lotto i'd share the fundagr for my nappy helpers/lovers!
thanks bea, i'll check t out but sounds like it wont work for now on this lil wriggle bum!
lol can you tell im typing one handed these days or was i always so bad??!!
oh - an itti bitti question! the snap ins - the lil tag on the outside is sen in on the waist, not below the waist like the sewn ins..... i assume this would irritate just as much as a tag on clothes would to us..... is it safe to remove it or will that stuff with the stitching of the nappy? hope I make sense???
I got my new washing machine yesterday A Bosch front loader! I'm a bit scared of it though. It will be doing it's first load of nappies in about 10 mins time.
I also bought a packet of sposies yesterday too Silly me forgot to put nappies in the nappy bag
ETA do you mean the stitching from the tag irritating?
WOO HOO Samii - new washing machine!!! WTG..what did Trev do with the old banger
Ness - I bought a cow cup from a UK seller of ebay...it stunk of ciggy smoke and when I left feedback he got nasty. Thanx for thinking of us
Suse - its the ends of the thread were I started and finished sewing in the elastic babe...you'll see what I mean when you get them. Must say I thought it wasnt making a difference until I looked at them after I finished.
Kitten - wait until you see wha tive got in feb hon...you'll like it alot
Gigi - hope you took a pic babe. We didnt worry about TT pants...Vy was done to quick to really think about it as she did it herself without any help from us
Im gonna play with my embroidery machine today so I can make someone a birthday cover
Gotta go....take boxes to the recycling depo and then off to order a birthday cake
sam we have a bocsh front loader!! would love a newer one though!!
have to ask you miss sam, did you use flats in hospital? did you use your own covers if you did or snibs?
mel - hmn, harming resale value - do you think after this one and another thry would still be sellable?
raven - i mean the tag itself, they way its sewn in the hard fabric of the tag rubs on her tummy
maz - oh maz you are making me excited, like super excited! just ordered a dragonfly berry plush cover, I wonder if it will be loved as much as your covers?!
AJP - when we had to go to hossy we started off with some of our own nappies, but they told us just to use theirs, so we used the flats without a cover,dh just changed her constantly! yes,..... DH was the nappy changer ( i was too weak to get out of bed so he wa the nappy man for 2 days straight!) so proud of him
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We have had lots of fun - I have friends of mine visiting from the US so along with normal Christmas celebrations we have been doing extra stuff with them. They head to the Barrier Reef on Wednesday morning though and Wednesday night DH, DS and I are headed to Sanctuary Point for three nights and four days to celebrate New Year's with the family!
I'm about 99% decided that I'll do cloth and just take my large bucket to throw everything into. I will then bring everything home and wash it here - assuming DH is okay with all that. I was thinking of doing sposies as that would mean DH would do the nappy changes more often and it would give me a break - but I don't think the environment is really worth my having a break from nappies!
I need to wash nappies desperately before we go too but with being out with my friends and the stormy afternoon weather I think I am going to have to wait until tomorrow!! Everything is going to get done last minute on Wednesday before we go!
WOHB: BubbaJ hemp but I'm about to change him and get him dressed to go to the beach
thanks ladies regarding the suggestions with the wingdroop. I 've only noticed it a couple of times, not every time she wears them. I hope they will be ok as a nappy for us, cause I have 10 of them!
Kitt3n do your nappies have the black tags or the white ones? The newer ones have black tags and from memory they are a bit stiffer than the older white tags. Ruby hasn't worn any with black tags as yet. We have some but they are medium sized. I'm a bit worried now cos I stocked up on them at the expo.
Jols I did flats at the hospital that they supplied and used Maz-a-licious covers that DH took home to wash.
Maz banger has been booted out the laundry door. I thought I might donate it but DH wants to take the drum out of it for an outside fire place. He is a dead set bogan
I'm a bit sad to see it go after 15 years of faithful service but it was a temperamental thing. I'm going to miss the sound of it vibrating it's way across the laundry floor...NOT!
Heidi I used cloth camping. Got a bit whiffy in that bag by the third day but it was really easy. FWIW I would have had to take my rubbish with me so would have had to cart sposies home if I used them so it was no big deal. Nappies were the first things washed, then the kids were
Nice score there Katones
Kellie wing droop can be a pain but I don't think it causes leaks. Well not in our experience. I haven't had it with ittis on Caleb but have with others.
I can't believe how quiet this washing machine is

Up date on the cubby house.
It was the Daily telegraph that came out yesterday. I haven't seen the paper yet but the online artical hasn't got my kids inthe photo
BUT we just got back fromt he hall where we had both channel 9 & 7 come up to do a story on it LOL, Evan for sure should be on the channel 9 news & possibly myself on 9 & 7. I doubt channel 7 though as I was breastfeeding Iain while they interviewed me & they kept it short & sweet. I think they felt a bit funny about my BFing but I just left him there & said I didn't have a problem feeding him on camera.
The intereviewed 2 other mums so I thinkt hey will use them over me. But Channel 9 should use at least a little of me.
We also have 2 radio stations doing a interview on it also. AND it was mentioned on sunrise apprently LOL.
thanks kitten and sam.
sam was going to do just that!! figured im only there for two days and if i have to i will wash the covers in hopital, surly they'll dry with it been so hot in there!
