Well I was going to trial a new playgroup but they werent meeting so that was a bummer. We went to medicare and centrelink and thats about it. I bought a new movie Baby Mama so I think Ill go watch that

Just a quicky because I'm really really full of snot and E has just gone to sleep and I'm thinking of doing the same... I GOT FLUFFY MAIL. My postie just arrived with four packages... a new KK in a really yummo olive green, and from B4B a turquoise BP and a lemon/lime fleece Auriel (OMG I am in love, or lust, or something starting with L, it is just the most exquisite nappy EVER), and from our darling Maz, my super re-elasticated BumGs!! WHOO HOO!!

So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU MAZ!! You is the awesome-est woman ever my love, you did such a fabbo job. Biggest Mwahs to you. And congrats to your awesome little man for taking four steps. What a birthday pressie.

Kellie - i boost my green kids with micrfibre, then the hourglass bamboo insert, then the bamboo booster inside the hourglass one. works a treat - never had a leak. Last night he had it on for 13 hours.

Rhyb - yes that is very true. All I can say is that I hate 2 year old molars.

I never boosted my prefolds for night time - but I did use them at night. She was still waking up around 2/3am though - so would be in it for about 4 hours. If you have a good cover it should go 4 hours if they are a medium wetter. Well, based on my experience anyway!

Mandy Mac Purples have just recently been released so probably not many people have tried them yet...they have had good reviews on nappycino though....just remember all Mandy macs need a snappi as well!! Oh and they dye up really well if you want to funk them up a bit!

PP - I've used Mandy Mac's and they're not too bad.
Only thing is they are HUGE when fully stuffed and DS had big trouble sleeping with his huge bum, so I took out the excess layers and it still worked beautifully.

The Snappi is annoying though - tempted to get someone to sew snaps on there for me

Any thoughts on how to boost a prefold for night use?

for a newborn - lay inside the prefold a nb sized bamboo booster (available at sustainable hemp products)

for an older bub - lay inside the prefold, a medium or large sized bamboo booster, or if that is not enough, use two prefolds.

you will get most absorption, out of bamboo prefolds/trifolds/foldups (compared to the cotton ones).

using a lanolised wool cover over the prefold, will make it last longer than if you put a PUL cover over the top.

as your ticker says you're pregnant, have you seen the Introduction to Cloth packs? they're at the ceejaynappies website. $60 for 6 fitted nappies, 6 boosters, woolly soaker, plus wipes, easily worth ALOT more than $60, i really recommend you go take a look if you're about to have a bub and hacen't used MCN before, trust me, this is a TRUE bargain!!

SHellBell - was it you who said you liked bamboo velour very much? it's lovely as a topper on mama pads too, as soon as you use one of those, it makes you realise how nice it is for your baby to have lovely soft fabric against THEIR skin too.

Those waiting on Bling should get them this week I would think. I should get a heap of fluffy mail from WC today. I can't wait!

PP, I have read that while the Purply Mandys are good they are very bulky. I was going to get some & possibly still will but just need to get past this time of year cash wise.
