I have mainly Bamboo nappies... I've had the same ones as long as I've been in cloth and... no shredding. I used to use detergent, but I've stopped in the last 2-3 months.

Rayray- soap nuts are just nuts that lather up like soap. A complete natural product. I found a huge box of them for pretty cheap at the local organic markets... but there is an ecostore online or something like that which carries them.

PP FWIW DH lovse cloth but has issues with cloth overnight, so he puts a sposie on and I put a cloth one on when I get her ready.... all for the sake of peace.
