This is my lil brain child this morning

i had to put dragon in a sposie when we went to a relatives house last night cos i was under-prepared. he usu doesnt poo at night but he made an exception last night tell me off if this is bad...i usu put him in a magicall as a night nappy so change him ard 9pm and then dont change him til the morning usu 6am or later. is that bad for his little guy or just in general?? i feel like a really bad mum cos im lazy to change him during his 'dream' feeds but i dont wanna wake him up at the same time *hmmpf*

Rhoda Ruby slept for 12 hours last night in a BBB and there was no way I'm going to wake her up to change her. But I don't do dream feeds. Perhaps instead of a magicall you could use something with a bit more in it so you don't need to change him. Does his skin feel wet to touch in the morning?

Okay, am gunna ask this one again as I couldnt find a reply, but I may have just been having a dumb one.
Do i need a LS if I am going to use liners (flushable)
Also, Is the reason for the moogoo, cause it is "safe " for mcns ie washes off, or is it cause its better than the other stuff.
ANNND, do you use the moogoo MSM as a barrier cream for everyday or only when you have red bum?

Shells - from what i can gather, liners will help to a degree, but there is no guarantee it will stop all stuff getting to the nappy - if baby is teething or has an upset tum at all, you're going to have messy poo - the liners will get rid of it to a degree, but may not get rid of it all kwim? i'm not sure if we'll end up using flushable liners - have thought about it - but i figured that having a LS can't hurt - short term liner use may not turn into long term - and the idea of scraping poop just doesnt' appeal!

with the moo goo - from what i've read on their site, it's a more natural cream than a lot of the supermarket ones, so i'm leaning towards it for that reason - my skin is super sensitive (even moreso now that i'm UTD) so i'm thinking there is a fair chance that baby will be the same - if i can eliminate as many "unnatural" products as possible (i'm sure there is a more appropriate word). i'm also going to change to moogoo shampoo and body wash for me so that ther is a consistent, not heavily perfumed, smell around for her as i know how much i've been suffering from strong smells at the mo... someone else will have to answer about the everyday cream for you - no idea on that one!

oh nos, stupid me deleted my post

lea- GK doesnt come with inserts, but other osfm come with microfibre. do u have hemp trifolds/inserts already? i dont know much abt sizing as most of mine as osfm but i could stack a GK on top of a magicall if u want...when considering what type to bring, take into account what ur comfortable with (dont want any nasty surprises), weight/bulk if flying...i asked abt wbs hehe

shelley- ls&liner: nb poo is quite runny so liners dont do much & bf poo is water soluble so it can go straight into machine if u dont mind, liners will work out costing more in the long run so put that into consideration. ive been convinced that the ls makes life easier, but if u dont like it u could always sell it im sure some1 would be happy to buy a 2nd hand one cheaper
moogoo: its preferred as it doesnt stain mcns and it hasnt got as much nasties in it as other products (frm wt i read on website)

hey , im cool with pockets and ai2s when flying , i dont really want fitteds as they would be heavier and unlined so its more i gotta take . im thinking pockets as they are quick dry , and i have a few hemp inserts here and PF's .. i would get more insets as well .. MF dries super quick but id only use it as a short term thing kwim ? so it'd be a waste $$ kwim .. and i dont think MF has any resale value lol ..
my sewing machine crapped it .. i have to get a new one .. i was working on fixing something and now i cant

lea- MF: happy heinys (think theres still a few in booroi) comes with 2 MF inserts (small&large) so if u already have some hemp, then u've got 2 uses out of the 1 pocket already kwim? have u flown o/s using pockets or jst interstate? im going both interstates & o/s next mth so am tryin to find what the best nappy to use (i dont have any fitted so that u know)

i answered you, very thoroughly, in the last thread shell. you weren't ignored, petal!

Charmlea - for your four trip
i've been told "night nappies" for a plane trip (on the Nappycino travelling with cloth threads)

for your four month old, i would take "whatever you get pootainment in, with"
for Nixon, i would take pockets and ai2's that you already know suit him.
if you are going to buy mcn specifically for this trip?
    suggestions:
double layer bamboo trifolds, maybe the 2L size bamboo prefolds on sale at booroi might be the right size (length) to stuff pockets for Nixon?
quick dry bits for bots ai2's (front snaps, microfleece inner)
greenkids pockets and bumg pockets (if suedecloth inner, aplix closure and OSFA suit Nixon)
happy heiny either sized or OSFA fitted pockets, get the solid colours, there is an option of snaps AND aplix on the same nappy.
i'd avoid fitteds for Nixon (due to drying time) i agree with you completely
if you gotta take fitteds for your nb, so be it. unless you using prefolds + cover, cos they will dry faster than fitteds. Pootainment is the most crucial thing in nappying a nb, so if you make any exceptions, i'd make them for the nb.

i understand why you got the m/l KK AIO - such a bargain price! it's worth it, waiting til she fits it better.

ALI - aw, you make me feel all clucky, you find out you're having a girl, and today buying pink fluff, that's LOVELY!!! so happy for you! pink prefolds  (just cos i'm not a pink girl, doesn't mean i can't be happy for you, nesting for your wee gal.) those booroi prefolds are a subtle pink.

MISSY - very early in my internet life (2001 i started), i got an email from someone, with a link to this article called "NETIQUETTE" - obviously i was being told to pull my head in and learn "how" to be, online - i was so embarrassed.

TERU - night nappies are all about observation. whatever you put them to sleep in, if it's working - fine. it's when you pick up a drenched bubba, see wet sheets, baby has rash from long time in wet nappy, thats when you reach into your "mental mcn toolbox" of - what can i try now? - to increase absorbency. You do it, as you need to. I would say, for RIGHT NOW, the magicall is fine for your bub. every bub is different. all you can do is observe your bub, and keep repeating what works.

there are excellent threads on nappycino regarding "travelling with cloth" from camping with no laundry, to overseas trips where you are at a different place each night.

i have no clue who has left/is leaving BB lil precious, so we can be "in the dark", together!

whoever got to see "Australia" (was it Eugenia), i hope you had a great night out, i'd love to see that film too.

good luck with TT-ing Caleb Raven.

WOTBB: KK AIO with babylegs to keep the darn mozzies off my bilby's delicious (to mozzies) little legs

Kitten - are you after any more natural/organic mcn ideas? i went down that road when bilbs reacted really badly to synthetic inners, last year. happy to share with you.

do you have a sugar peas cover? to snap in that sugarpeas $12 snap in insert into? i used the right words, but it really doens't look right does it?

    waves at Beatrix!

    hey chatterboxes !!

I had Gabbi in a BBB and wool cover and it lasted about 12 hours .. i am surprised at NN i used to be chicken of them ..

Gigi - i coulnd get MED size in KK's at the time it was Med/long or Large, and they were $20 each so it took the last of her stock ... lol the crotch of the nappy is inbetween her knees .. oh well she will grow ..

question - im going to sydney in 2 weeks for 4 days , WHAT sort of colth should i take .. i had thought of taking sposies , but we have a laundry in the apartmaent so i might as well wash and dry ..
DH thinks fitteds and covers... i think pockets with hemp inserts ... or AI2's
sooo if i go pockets wich shall i buy? DS is TT atm so wears a nappy but its dry coz we take a potty of use the loo .. ( so can he wear 1 all day , JIC ?? )

OFSA pockets like GK ?? im keen to try them but not sure on OSFA ... he can get into a MEd nappy (just a lil short at the back) so should i just get MEd and put him in them for the 4 days ??

i will be keeping the naps in a WB ..

and whom ever asked before about how many WBs ??? .. I have 4 wetbags !!

got my WC and its groovy as !! i love paisley anything !!
