Kat - what was wrong with your nappy sprayer? What one did you get? Did I miss something important?
Anna - I reckon Nelle would win myself ;)
mel i got a 'cheaper' nappy sprayer from an aussie company..BUT it is a yank sprayer..and it won't connect to our dunny!!!! she said she had found a connecting part BUT it will take 2 motnhs to get her...ummmm i want to use the darn thing now!!!!so have sent back getting full refund.
nappies are on to wash..as it has stopped raining :) although they will be inside on the clothes horse to dry....
fluffy mail! and yummy other mail for Gremlin too! gotta unpack the Booroi order - it's a nice compact parcel so DH has no idea how much is in it... do i open now or wait til he leaves... hmmm...
Kat - was it a cool spray or something like that? Seen them around in my travels
BG, Moo goo has cream in stock again,,,,
sanks Shell - was just about to come and post the same thing myself! i been shopping (and Arimeh helped me spend money - bad Arimeh! i'm very easily led you know....)
pfft its always MY fault ;)
:p
nah, sometimes it's Beatrix, and sometimes it's Maz
it's just never MY fault!
hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
grrrr
I never spend peoples money ;)
and i got fluffy mail today... for my friends baby shower... happy heiney cow and cow wet bag NICE
i think i got fluffy mail - i got carded by the post office and I think its my booroi order! will have to wait til thursday to find out!
i got fluffy mail too! also my booroi order... 2 BBH and a wetbag that I am disappointed in. Product description said it would fit up to 4 nappies, but I highly doubt that! I hardly ever go out and need to store more than 2 nappies in a wetbag anyway, so it should be ok.
has anyone used both kissaluvs and lovelybums and can tell me how they compare?
gah, it was 43 today, much higher in the car of course, little greenhouse of wheels cars are.
i've just been here in front of computer for 10 minutes, sweat is dripping off me and it's 10.30pm at night.
all this week every day is going to be 40 plus.
blimey nora
wotbb: KKAIO cos she was half asleep, but i really want her to be in fitted and woollie, with temps like this, we'll all sleep in the lounge tonight, where the a/c is, so hard to sleep in hot hot weather, bilby would stay awake til dawn if i put her in her room. (a broom closet sized sauna it feels like).
i feel so lucky to even HVE a/c - for most of my life i lived without a/c. two years of having it where i live has gotten me VRRY reliant on it in our heatwaves.
i just drool when some of you mention it RAINS where you are!!! that would be my fantasy - for it to rain!
i was cranky tonight - took bilbs straight from childcare to community pool and the elastic in her motherease swim nappy (which we've only just started using, but have had for a while - i bought ahead in sizes) has completely "gone", lucky i had her backup swim nappy.
Gigi - If it was cool when it rained it would be nice, but it is warm and sticky, and our backyard does not drain well, so I am living with a mud pit with grass for a backyard.
Well I also got my Booroi order (the 1st one ) today. 1 Jamtots wetbag (I think it it is a decent size) 1 Llamajama Shorties, 1 BBH wool wrap, 2 Totbots PUL covers, 1 HH OSFA, 1 Stacinator cover, 4 pairs of BPs, 1 Mamapad and I think that is it. Lucky DH didn't see the invoice .
I am thinking about going to the moogoo site again for some MSM. Must hold off a couple of weeks though, make sure I can survive while DH is away.
i find wetbag shopping a bit vague too. The number of nappies you can fit in, is a subjective thing - whether "nappies" means prefolds, fitteds, pockets, aio's, you could have OSFA (which i think are bulkier) or sized nappies, trim or not trim, terry flats, there are endless possibilities of what FOUR "nappies" room might take up.
I tend to go more on the dimensions, look at my ruler to work it out in front of me.
there is often no "scale" or proportion in the product listing photos, so it's really hard to get a sense of how big they are (unless you use your ruler).
ANd some wetbags have a "gusset", more like a little floor i think. which is another variation. e.g the jamtots one.
also, when you put the used nappies in the wetbag, i think the idea is to "roll them up", so they take up as little room as possible.
i have three (count em) wetbags. Two decent size ones (nurture nappy branded and the baby beehinds, a small one, jamtots. Today, two were at childcare (extra one for toilet training accidents), one was in drypail, waiting for bucket to become full enough to put a nappy load on, so i had zero wetbags to use. And i wanted to pick up bilby from childcare and take her to a pool, so needed a wetbg for while we were at the pool.
so i never thought i would say this, the thought occurred to me, can i justify a fourth wetbag!!! (laughs wicked laugh). i have seen several MONKEY wetbags of late, and i have been so self restrained (!!!). i can't remember WHERE i saw them now, serves me right. i'm so busy enabling everyone else LOL, i forget where the things i like, are.
i saw on the Bright Bots website, they now sell fitted nappies made out of cotton terry flat materials. so they wouldn't be as absorbent as bamboo/hemp etc, but it's the right shape. i thought for people who know flats, find MCN a bit spooky, and are unwilling to spend up on the unknown, the $12 cotten terry fitted (aplix closing) might be a jumping off point for them (to bring them over to The Dark Side!!!). it's really a better version of the fluffies sold in big w etc (the $7 ones that are stuffed with foam).
but the bright bots trainers have foam sewn into them (so the listing says).
I found what I was looking for! Cute Tooshies bamboo fitted nappies, they have side snaps and are OSFM which means I shouldn't have to keep buying more every few months. They'll be perfect for DS as I'm liking him in fitteds and covers at the moment.
i hope i get more fluffy mail today, booroi order #2.............. i ordered one of those wetbags too squidgee, but for my mumma pads. i have 3 wetbags for nappies at the moment - a babybeehinds one, a leslie designer whatyacalem for in the big nappy bag, and a jamtots one for in the little nappy bag (yes i have 2 nappy bags, one for big trips and a mini one for lil trips eg picking up dd from school, only holds 1 or 2 aios but its just enough)
rayray - depends on which loveybums you are asking. i had one nb kissaluv, and for next baby i will certainly buy more over the nb loveybums organic quick dry (had 2 in nb size). but having said that i now have 4 loveybums quick dry, and have also ordered 4 loveybums sherpa and 4 kissaluvs just yesterday. if you like one you ill probably also like the other!
bbl to finish post - fluffy mail just arrived and baby woke up - its like christmas!!!!!!!!!
eta - oh what a delivery! fluff n stuff
sexy lil breastfeeding dress to wear to a wedding
new ellaroo mei tai
glamourmom b/f singlet (love these so much!)
4 sugarpeass fitteds (2 for now, 2 large)
borooi order # 2 - pea pod (thought i'd give it a try!), wipes, wetbag, bamboo kimono, ecobubs clothes (2 beanies and pants), llamajamas longies for the coming winter, oh and a snappi!!!!!!!!!!
wohb - twinklelily gilded floral
Morning all my lovelies.....
Not much happening here.... no fluffy mail for me!!!!!!
*sigh*
Guess I have to live vicariously through everyone else - including BG.. hehe ;)
WOAB: Was a very stinky green GK that only *just* contained his mess - but is now a white BumG
WOMB: WC - with a shredding booster *grrrr*
Bit sad here as I've not much to add. I'm not on the hunt to buy any more nappies unless they're things like the elusive WCs, GD OOAK, Maz covers etc!
Ty's still got his tummy bug but at least his fever is down. (TMI) He's still pooing yucky germ-fested runny poos so I've got him in sposies still. I'm even going to have to buy a new pack soon :( which is something I really didn't want to do.
All of my nappies are clean and washed and waiting for his tummy/butt to be better so he can wear his gorgeous stash.
At least I can say that DH is in love with the embroidered nappies we have and the Camo Blueberry I bought the other day at theweewuns.
I did buy some Moo Goo yesterday at the health food shop so that was a 'purchase' in the right direction.
I even had a look a booroi to see if there was anything there to interest me, but there's not really. I thought about longies but they're the wrong size for my little fella.
I think I'll just have to live vicariously through BG as well ;)
I have the council doing road works infront of my house atm...its already 30+ degree's too. STUPID I tell ya's.
hang my nappy's out at 8 this morning and their almost dry already :o
No chanch of the courier f coming in my street today...its all blocked of so no fluffy for me :(
Looked at Boori aswell...and nothing interested me...I think Im all done buying nappy's...its just want factor ones now
WOMB - CT - fried eggs...YUMMY
morning ladies...
maz lucky your nappies are nearly dry :)
i am still sitting in my jim jams..just got up not long ago....so washing shall have to wait...MUST do a strip wash on some certain nappies...since teething boy jack seems to have pongy wee...
one little toothy peg has popped through a weeny bit :)
WOJB ~ was a saturated BBB / maz boy blue cover BUT now nekid...
Ahh already 40 degress here at 9am fun fun
Mum2 squig- did you get the HH wet bag, they are fairly small.
i brought myself a bumble bee and giraffe couture on the weekend.. so im awaiting fluff
gigi - you can definitely get another wet bag! Even if its not for nappies, you can find plenty of other uses for them such as when you go swimming etc
Kitten - did you get the small or the large one? I wish I'd have gotten the big one now, but most of the time when we are out I use ittis anyone, and they roll up pretty small, so I should be ok.
Mel - I can't wait to find out what your secret is!
Beatrix - it was the wahmies wetbag that I got
its going to be stinking hot here today, so hopefully my nappies will dry quickly too!
phew you girls can talk!! took me ages to read those 8 pages! what I get for not coming online all long weekend hehe!
thanks for letting us know about the moogoo msm cream...will have to order some...how long does it last..do you reckon I should just get one to start with? or should I buy two to save postage down the track lol!!
got the overlocker out yesterday, a friend gave it to me 2nd hand about 2 years ago and I hadnt got around to using it yet, so I edged a bunny rug yesterday yay works good! now I can get cracking on making my prefolds lol! considering bub could be only 5+ weeks away (hopefully not tooo early hehe) I better make sure theres some nappies for them haha!
Just a ? about wetbags -
If your out and about, and you get a stinker nappy, do you have an individual wetbag for it or just chuck it in with the rest of the dirty nappies?
i am NEVER out long enough to go through 4+ nappies.... i have a stash of the peapods bags..and just keep afew in the nappy bag along with afew snap lock bags....
WOJB ~ lime IB
i still haven't bought any moo goo..geez i am slack....
& i still haven't put said nappies on to wash yet or gotten out of my jim jams....
Kat - by the time I pick up some moo goo... I won't have kids in nappies anymore ;)
LOL yeah by the time i get round to it Jack will be toilet trained...hehehehe
nappies are on to wash...
now who mentioned some good swimming nappies???
Oops! I didn't put the greywater hose back on properly in my chaotic brain-fog this morning, and I flooded half the house. Lucky it wasn't a nappy prewash that drained all over the place, coz in this heat that would be pretty foul... and DS went for a bit of a paddle in the suds on the kitchen floor.
Waiting on fluffy mail from DDU, but no nappies except for a HH keyring one. DS just doesn't really NEED any more right now, but truthfully, they were out of the Berry Plush in the colours I wanted
WOHB: firestorm BP
Oh no NaNa! I dont envy you the clean up, is your house all carpet or flooring? We have tiles so I dont panic as much as I used to about water issues.
Hmmm fluffymail.......I have lots coming, could even have a red card in my letterbox right now but its pouring with rain so its going to be soggy card if anythings there
Nana - Oh NO!!!!! Hope it is not oo hard to clean up. DS is keeping cool though so that is good ;)
Anna - I need to go and put some plastic over the hole on my letterbox again so it doesnt flood again :wall:
Christy - I think if you do try the moogoo, you should only get a tiny bit, or borrow some of someone else's. It has cows milk protein listed in the ingredients so they may react more to it.
No cards here YET!!! I hope I get one today!!!
ahhhh the joys of an outside laundry :p
is it bi-carb i use for a stinky wash???
thanks Arimeh! Have just ordered one tub and will see how we go with that :D thanks for replying so quick!
comp's retarded, didnt let me post :(
kat- dont think bicarb is recommened for mcn? cant remember exactly thou :P
hate this stinky weather but at least i get my nappies dry super dooper quick. i really should start counting how many we go thru in a day so i know how many to pack
totally nappy unrelated: how can i not hate my stepdad so much? he doesnt think much of my bro nor i, and thats fine with us cos we give a rat's butt abt him. But who is he to tell DP? it seems he's trying real hard to come between DP & i and i dont like it. he thinks im a good-for-nothing, no brain, lazy FEMALE but loves my dp & ds to death. the female part gets to him big time, has no respect for the opposite gender, thinks anything mum or i have to say is rubbish and thinks he knows everything. jst so that u know, he has 4 kids but none of them talk to him & he 'supposedly' has given up on all of them even thou they r on his will wtf? honestly i really regret letting mum marrying him :(
eta- 2 days of fluffy mail in a row, im happy now :) forgot all abt the BG i was getting, so its was a good surprise
Kat - If you are needing a strip wash, 1 tiny drop of dishwashing detergent and rinse like there is no tomorrow, until there are no little suds left.
Rhoda - BB is due for a second server. I keep having to refresh, and sometimes it wont post, other times it double posts. This happens from time to time when we outgrow the old servers. Be patient, it will be fixed soon ;) And  just get on with what you need to do and ignore your SD.
yeah i know about the washing up liquid BUT i thought FJ mentioned something about bi-carb for a smelly wash???
must do a search for that....
