Hi All!
I'm exhausted from our afternoon out and I'm about to go to bed but just wanted to pop in here with a question...
DS has blisters on his bum in a sort of half circle just under his scrotum. He has had them for awhile and I've been alternating between daktozin and curash and they were clearing but then when I changed his nappy for bedtime tonight the area was blistered again.
I can't think of what has changed to cause this... he is done teething, he hasn't been sick, I am using the same nappies and liners I've always used for months.
I have noticed that his wee stinks strongly of ammonia - could it just be that his urine is too concentrated because it has been hot and I'm struggling to get him to drink enough?
GRRRR...
Okay - off to comfort DH and then go to bed - one of his employees just stuffed him totally and put him in a really tough position and I don't know what he is going to do but he has been under a LOT of stress lately and I'm just not sure how much more he can take!
Have my dating ultrasound tomorrow for baby #2 - hope it goes well!
WOHB: LOTS of Daktozin, a BBH bamboo and a Bummis Super Whisper frog cover
Good luck tomorrow Heidi

Heidi - you've thought of most things already, but what about
- length of time btwn changes?
- washing powder used to wash the nappies?
Have fun finding out the XX or XY tomorrow!
anyone after bambino mio covers for their nb, i saw them on a website called babyzonedirect for $20, that's the lowest i've seen them online.
wotbb: KK AIO
has anyone got a Cushie Traveller toilet training seat? if you do, where did you buy it from? ta.
typing with 9 fingers still, gee i'm an impatient sod!
Happy Year of the Ox everyone!
Gigi i have a foliding cushie travller thing , i got it at a TT stall at a baby market , i never use it as its too small for our toilet and just moves around alot so im not sure what its like on other loos as i cant find it atm , i will have to soon were off to syd next week ..
i got it as ds was scared of the toilet ... but one day i found him sitting on it with the seat up and thats how he wees now !!
I have seen them in Target and Big w
heidi , dont know whats causing his blisters ..poor man ... i thought the washing powder too , maybe you could add canesten to the wash and do a couple of hot washes .. if you havent already done that ... have you taken him to the doctor for a swab to find out what sort of rash it it , daktozion may be the wrong cream ... JMO .
good luck on your scan , hope all is well !!
me , well its been raining and my dryer is full of water , so i cant wash or dry ... anything as my line under the house is already full with nappies .. so its gotta be a sposie i only have about 6 left for DD and she just monster pooed the 2nd one this mornig ..
i dont think its a sign of a good nappy either .... its a case of "gimme my cloth back "maybe when mums comes over we'll go to the laundro mat ... i am not going alone with 2 kiddes
ok DH chucked a wobbly at me yesterday as i was talking about nappies and what we were taking to sydney ... he thinks i have too many , in all honesty i dont have that much , i do have alot im about to sell ( so they dont count as im not usuing them) i have about 28 BBB and 6 AIO's that are in use ...
whos got the most ? (dh wants to know , he thinks i have too many but i think others have more .. DH wants me to start a thread ...)
WOGB - poop and a sposie
Lea - I know I have more than 34 so you can tell him that to ease his mind. I don't know exactly how many I have - but I have over 20 ittis just to start with.. LOL
I don't want to start counting.. cos then my mind will do some maths on how much I've spent... and I sooooo don't wanna go there!!!!!![]()
Gigi:
Thanks - I suspect it has something to do with length of time between changes! I've been a tad on the slack side with that and he is a tad on the stubborn side with that as well. He doesn't like to be changed if he is busy doing something (like right now) so he is refusing. As soon as I finish typing I will take him kicking and screaming if I have to.
I have changed washing liquid from Earth Choice to another natural one - found one that didn't have optical brightners. So perhaps the combination of the two is doing it? I don't know...
Lea: Thanks for the suggestion to take him to the doctor for a swab - I will definitely consider that if it doesn't clean in the next few days. I have considered Canestan for the wash for other reasons (tinea in the toes) so perhaps I should just buy some and use it on the clothes and the nappies!
Oh, and I'm not finding out the gender of this baby - the ultrasound is purely for dating purposes. My midwife was discouraged when she discovered that my cycle CAN range from 27-40 days even though I told her that my average is about 33 days. She was adament that we do a dating scan - scolded my GP for not ordering it sooner, but then in the same breath said that unless it changes my due date by a full week she won't be paying it any mind. Oh well, I just want to make sure there is only one baby in there!
DS was totally cute yesterday though and told me he hoped there were two babies in my tummy so that one could be mine and one could be his!!
WOHB: a stinky fleece pocket nappy - about to become a BBH hemp with a PUL cover
Last night was a first...........................
we delved into the world of MCN-ing overnight.
And it went splendidly for Jett! His nappy was chocka's but not a leak to be seen, and believe me the boy can weeSo yay for HH pockets! I didnt even boost it anymore than usual (I found the peapods boosters are the right fit lengthwise for a HH pocket woot!)
I put Rip in the HB sherpa fitted with an extra booster and a med Maz cover that I borrowed from Rivers stash, it juuuuuuuuuust fit around his fat botty haha Still dont know if he made it through without a leak as he is still zzzzzzzzing............

Thanks for that. My local store has it. If anyone needs some, I can get it and mail it on.![]()
Maz i had to read your post twice then...i thought you wrote "i doubt that" in reply to what i said about the MSM cream....hmmmmm me too tired to read properly....
need to do washing of nappies BUT it is raining![]()
Hello... just after some advice - I am very newly pg and have made a decision to use cloth rather than sposies... but am wondering how early it is to start my 'collection' - I know the outlay will be more expensive so am wondering if I should start buying one or two of cloth nappies now and then see what works and then get more of those...
I know you probably get asked these sorts of questions all the time but with 160 threads re cloth it is a tad bit like a mountain I would never get to the end of... I saw the other threads about the types of nappies but it kind of feels like a foreign language
Any interpreter assistance would be greatly appreciated
do u think moogoo is safe to put in baby's mouth? he has a tendency to chomp on anything so would it be ok if i put it on his arms?!
could some1 suggest what washing powder/detergent i should bring to HK? i use soapnuts for his nappies atm but dont want to bring them cos of customs. also im in need of something to substitute as our bucket whilst o/s, any1 used the bummis tote?
tk- welcomei cant really offer much help, but just want to let u know during GDUNH which is march/sept each yr alot of the sponsors offer discounts

ah chicki..good to see you in here hon
id start putting a little bit away each week...say $20 and keeping an ear to the ground for when the sales start. Keep stalking us....and jot down heaps of notes an you'll soon see what you want nappy wise before you actually buy.
Buy for baby is an excellent second hand nappy site that allows you to buy MCN's for a cheaper price and have a looksie before spending the big bucks on new stuff.
I would suggest prefolds for the first few months, even terry flats babe until you find your feet and know what kind of nappies you want. Get a decent cover....some of the girls swear buy rikki covers cause of their pooh containment and the gusset legs....I dont need to tell you what i used
There are also some wonderful organic materials out now for skin sensitve kids...organice velour that is so soft and ahhhhh.
Do your research babe...ask as many questions as you can think of before diving in...it will blow your mind if you go in to quickly.
Rhoda - You can buy eucowash in satchels for around the $1 babe.....Id probably use them...how do you find the soap nuts?
