I definitely wouldn't say no to a loan of nb/small stuff. And yes, I'm in Sydney for whoever asked?
I had MCN for DS as a newborn but to be honest, I had a bit of post natal anxiety and it took me about 12 weeks to get into cloth full time. My brain just wasn't in my head enough to deal with the washing etc.
For the new bub I'd have:
10 BumG OFSA pockets
3 BBH fitteds
2 BBH small covers (on loan to a friend but i"ll get them back)
3 mandy mac fitteds (ditto)
2 small peapods (ditto)
2 baby kanga OFSA pockets
These are mostly nappies I currently use for DS but I will get him some more IB d'lish and that would do him I think.
I also have 4 white BumGs that i was going to sell for a friend but might keep them for myself. They do need the elastic replaced though, I might ask FJ if she could help me out again, she did some peapods for me a while back.
I was going to get rid of all of my BumGs because i was having issues with stink - but I think I've finally sorted that. Not using detergent at all in my nappy cycles now and lots of time in the sun and it seems to have done the trick over time. Thank goodness I held onto them!
This seriously doesn't feel like it's really happening....
anyhoo.... can you use lanolin with MCNs? or do you need a liner?
poor DD pooped overnight and has a red roar bum, moogoo has helped but it needs something to keep wee off as its aggrivating it.
i've got some organic lanolin on her now but put her in a sposie just in case, her butt is so small boohoo!
Willow - If its alright with Cat - she can drop off the newbie stuff (or you pick it up - whatever) I let her borrow off me - you can check it out - see if you want to borrow any of it, if not, we'll work out a way to get it back to me.
missymoo- cant tell u abt the ecobub yet. its waiting for me at the PO hahaha
kerrie- hope everything goes well, natural or c-sect? we'll definitely hear more frm u soon!!
forgot everything else *sigh*
im hardly using my magicalls cos they take awhile to dry, so im jst going to keep 2 of the 4. Do u think i should trade them for other nappies or jst sell them??
no liners, but I could just cut something up and put that in there, one of DD1's old fleece jumpers or something.
Hate sposies, her wee smells in them, took me 10 mins to fish out the bounty bag for a huggies sample lol
LL80 - definitely no lanolin (or anything else creating a barrier) on nappies hon. Unless you want to use them as covers LOL. They'll repel moisture instead of absorbing it, and there's not much that will get lanolin out of a fabric (easily) that won't trash your nappies. Definitely use liners!
How goes it in the world of MCN? Sorry I've been AWOL but our nappy dramas have still not ceased - I had to pop in though & say that I took The Punk to swimming lessons today & when we got out & were getting changed, one of her swimming classmates was getting her ITTI put on!! I was soooooooooo excited to see another cloth nappy/mum/bub, I had a huge chat with the woman about our stashes & about our NR issues... hopefully we'll have it sorted soon, but yay, a cloth buddy out here in the sticks!! (Well, okay, not even a cloth acquaintance as yet, buy YKWIM).
Have missed you all & and your evil enabling ways!!!
