    Heya Ladies!

How goes it in the world of MCN? Sorry I've been AWOL but our nappy dramas have still not ceased - I had to pop in though & say that I took The Punk to swimming lessons today & when we got out & were getting changed, one of her swimming classmates was getting her ITTI put on!! I was soooooooooo excited to see another cloth nappy/mum/bub, I had a huge chat with the woman about our stashes & about our NR issues... hopefully we'll have it sorted soon, but yay, a cloth buddy out here in the sticks!! (Well, okay, not even a cloth acquaintance as yet, buy YKWIM).

Have missed you all & and your evil enabling ways!!!

Ali - good score on the nappies! HIDE THEM!! lol
Charlotte always pees on the floor when I run the bath - she gets so excited about Tubby Time she wont leave the side of the bath to get undressed, and ALWAYS pees on the floor as soon as I take off the nappy! lol

For all those considering Powder - steer clear! even cornstarch is not healthy. If you must use a powder for nappy rash, use Prantal Powder. It is specifically designed to rashes, they use it in hospitals, but again, avoid it at ALL cost if you can.

Going back hom eon the 9th....and have some fluff waiting for me! !lol but DONT TELL DH! I have been bad...its all stuff off ebay, so bargains, and she needs nappies, but none the less - he doesnt know yet, so it will be interesting to see if he notices when we get home Just going to chucj them in the wash and add them to the rotation...I dont think he will notice, most are IBs and she has them already so fingers crossed! lol

OMG I am sooo excited about getting home and finally being back to the pat-able bum!!

    Alexis why is cornstarch bad?

QM have you tried no washing powder in the nappies. I just hot wash mine on 60 and put on the line and I haven't had NR since!! Also no smells or stains, and going on 2 months with no need for a strip wash either. I swear I wish I never used washing powder at all, the NR he got wasn't nice Also he can not under any circumstances have any synthetic fibers on his bum, only bamboo/hemp/cotton. I line all his nappies with this.

I think Lea mentioned that it can facilitate fungal rashes, which it can, it is also considered to be be very unhealthy as it promotes (by virtue of its caking adn damp and heat and moisture absorbing properties) bacterial growth. If it is not properly cleaned off regularly it can cause more problems than it fixes. ALL my middies and nurses urged me not to use ANY powder whatsoever on babies.
The particles of powders like talc and cornflour have also been found to clog fallopian tubes and can cause infertility in women. the particles themselves work their way into the vagina and they have been found in fallopian tubes.

I would just rather not use them at all - they are essentially unnecessary anyway - and actually inflame the problems they are supposed to prevent. Moisture, bacteria and heat = trapped in powder and caked onto bubba bits = BAD lol

    morning ladies

ali - sounds like a great stash! Your DH probably wont even notice, our stash has become such a blur to my DH that he doenst pick up on any new fluff any more! My 3 draw changetable is overflowing, needing to put bigger sizes in boxes at the moment!

My CT's aren't really working on Matisse as yet - well, the cord one is great, but the minkee ones seem to be too big around her thighs. Are there any tricks so I can get max use out of them?

Willow - pm me if you want to meet up/me post you Mel's NB stash. That is, if you arent in labour today!

Mel - tick tick tick on your ticker suprise

ls/mm - I have recently started using the miessence baby powder of a night only, on matisse's thigh roll cracks (gosh, whats that bit called, where the thigh meets the pinda?).... not on her bum, and not on her actual pee pee..... i lather her butt with baby balm and have been using fleece liners, but her silk ones will go on her tonight.... so i think cornstarch used for the right spots is OK....

rayray - i questioned the natures child nappies, and was given a good bit of info, basicallly explaining how they wouldnt be all that absorbent. So i stayed away.

lea - yep, moogoo on the face, on the butt, on mozzie bites it rocks and a HUGE thankyou to whoever started the BB girls craze of moogoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i ordered 5 more isshflies last night.......... but do i really need them? good fit though, but i do prefer my twinklelily ones out of the two... infact, i LOVE them to bits, they turn heads even more than bling!!

too cool having silk liners - hee hee my baby poos on silk! ROFL.... actually, can you use barrier balm with silk liners?

WOHB - was purple minkee CT but mummy copped wee on leg, so nows its apple cord CT

Happy Birthday Maz! Hope you have a great day!

Not much new with us.. DD has a bit of a rash that wont go away, but its not too bad. Just been putting sudocream on her with a liner, and I can now see why you cant use sudocream without liners! The cream just gets stuck in the liner!

Kitten, Do you have it on newborn fold? If not try that, and it will reduce the leg holes

    Maz, Happy Birthday gorgeous!!!

Lea, I only have 1 PP and I know a few people up here with access to a snap press, but it doesn't get used very often.

Completely OT, but DHA finally got back to me, we will have a dog by the time DH gets home!!

ooh I got my Leslies boutiqye wetbag in the mail yesterday, its soooo pretty. Bit smaller than I had imagined, but then its only supposed to fit 1-2 nappies in it for the size. Have a larger and another small on laybuy so that should do for a while.

Whats the best thing to use for nappy free time? I have a swaddlebees changemat but it feels so...synthetic...does anyone do minkee ones?

Happy Birthday Maz baby! Hope you're having a fabulous day!

A g/f is due with her 2nd child and is planning on going MCN for both kids - just starting. Should I buy her some Rikki covers and get/make prefolds or should I just give her a voucher and let her make her own mind up?

If I make some prefolds for her/boosters for me, where should I get some fabric from online and what should I use?
