No other nappy news- my house is a pigsty because we had half a wall taken out this morning - I escaped to mum's place while it was being done - came home and OMG - dust and crap EVERYWHERE!!! I've just spent an hour wiping stuff down... I hate mess.
DS is trying to vacuum at the moment... maybe I should switch it on and let him go for it.. lol

Yes Saram, that was my Miss February on the calendar!so... BumGs are usually ok with just the one microfibre insert, but I put in a hemp trifold as a booster sometimes.
so he's not a heavy wetter then i'm guessing.
It's not so much the microfibre I have a prob with, I'm just dealing with the 8-10 month developmental no-sleep teething kicking-and-screaming defiant food-throwing biting slapping hair-pulling horrors at the moment, and wishing I had more AIOs so I didn't have to stuff pockets when I could be collapsing in a shattered heap now and then... oooh but he'll grow out of it.
Question: do you stuff the pockets while he's on the changetable?
or do you stuff the pockets "en mass", and have a basket of pockets, already stuffed, ready and waiting for changetime, so then it's like putting an AIO on him AT changetime - just one thing.
i found it too stressful to stuff the pocket, with baby on changetable waiting. i needed to do the stuffing in advance, for my own stress levels. ANd lie in the flushable liners, etc too.
PLEASE tell me he'll grow out of it!!Even the Dr today said he's a three-year-old trapped in a 9-month-old's body.

Yes, bilby grew out of this stage, but it's a horror while they're in it.
The procare PUL sounds great. Another reason I don't love the HH is the PUL is soooo sticky when you stuff the inserts in.

i was actually asking about the snaps for the CLOSURE part of it, not the rise adjustment part.
As for the travel ideas.. well DP still insists I can't take MCN but I will be secretly packing a few quick-drying pockets in a travel vacuum bag.

There may even be one where we're staying or I can get one there. It's a weird prospect, going to Beirut to buy a potty, then going to Nice to buy a potty... after three days of dry knickers, only using one nappy a day (night nappy), this afternoon, she weed on my friend's rug, pooed in her trainers on the way home in the car. So three days yes, one hour this afternoon, no. i'm told it's to be expected.
she didn't like my friend's toilet (our toilet insert was sliding on it, their loo seat is bigger than ours), she didn't like my friend's DS's potty. just kept holding on and on and on for hours. then FLOOD! Luckily, her denim shorts soaked up most of it. but i will not be taking her outside home without trainers on from now on. (waterproof, with inbuilt absorbency).
i thought, her going reguarly at home and at childcare, and at a shopping centre, telling me "bee, bee", meant she was ready to go visiting friends in knickers, but no, i got ahead of myself. it was too soon.
i made an order for a pair of one wet pants from Noonee Wilga on Sunday night, got an email today to say they are made and being posted! these are CUSTOM made! One hip sewn, one hip with snaps, and natural inner. cannot believe how fast that service is! Lucky, cos we really do need them, and ASAP.
Shellsbells, lots of people on this thread know heaps about mcn. but most of them have multiple kids and limited time online. i type fast and talk too much, so it's not that i know more than them, far from it, i just type more and only have one child. I often just regurgitate what they taught me.

Hunt bargains vary alot, on some sites, yes it is VERY worthwhile to register for the hunt even if you are not doing the searching for icons, just for the discount. on some sites, the discount is not huge, others it is. others give you free postage. so it varies heaps.
look up the diaper decisions site, to see Hints Forum and the thread that gives you a list of all the sponsors and the discounts they offer. i would put that url here, but it's not allowed.

Tonight Pip did his first wee in a potty. we were having a shower, and just before I popped into the shower, I went to the loo, but put his potty in the shower first and got him to sit on it - he was holding his bits so I knew he was going to wee on the floor, but he sat in the potty and wee'd. By default. Does it count?
Ummm PUL, thick - try the omg what are they, the cow and monkey that i have, the somethingbumz? Very very thick PUL and not sticky.
Anyhows, he's in a snoozywun to sleep in, so I'm going to look for a few icons!

Gigi, you're a champ! Sorry to hear about the minor setback with Bilby's TT, but I hope you're not stressing about it. Although this whole thing must be something of a major lifestyle change and upheaval for you...

I'm well sorted for wet bags (3 is good) and I'll look into the potette. Will get a folding loo seat as well.
I've tried all manner of things to distract and occupy DS while on the change table. It's alongside a full-length mirror on one side, but he's lost interest in the black and white geometric prints I put up and move around on the other wall a while back. I always give him something to keep him occupied and he always throws it at my face. He's a great shot. Soft toys and cloths only now! All nappies are pre-stuffed and folded and organised on the shelf under the change table and everything's in easy reach for me (and now DS apparently!). But even with the harness clipped on, he flips over and kicks like mad. He is a real bundle of energy. Fortunately he's only jumped off the potty and made a mess once so far. His chubby little thighs just stuck to the seat!oh, and he still cant stand up unassisted... but don't try and tell him that!
DP works with people in the water and environment sector. I've shown him the info and 'splained and 'splained over and over... but he still thinks sometimes I'm making things hard for myself by using MCN.Just coz I'm stubborn about everything!! Yesterday he asked me why there is a big green patch in our otherwise dead back yard and I told him it was because I insist on MCN. He didn't get it. I told him that's where I put the greywater hose, and to imagine the garden had the smell of sposies rotting in our wheelie bin instead of fresh cut grass.
oooh I just remembered too, DP's mum's place in Beirut has a bidet spray! See, they're geared up for me already! bahaha!

NaNa - three wetbags sounds good to me. Pity your dh is not on board, i sympathise with your frustration (at him not "getting" it).
oh and one more "travelling with mcn tip" - travel clothesline - buy them at caMping stores and some chemists - it's like two long pieces of elasticated cord, twisted around each other, metal hook at each end. so no need for pegs. i'd tie a ribbon at each end, JIC you need to put it up somewhere, where the hooks don't do the job.
Beirut and France - noice. Culturally (and especially food wise!!) i would love it, just hope the Middle East is a bit calmish - when you are flying in and out.
Arimeh - a wall being knocked out would freak me right out too.

i trained my dh to put his fingers on the INSIDE of the nappy, when doing up snaps, so that when the snap is done up, the pressure is "captured" on the adult's fingers, NOT the bub's tummy. does that make sense?
i think men, with their big hands, feel a bit clumsy at first doing this, but you have to, to protect the bub's tummy. I've had to explain it to more than a few childcare workers too. (women with big hands as it happens).

BG, I always explained to DH that if he put 1 or 2 fingers inside the nappy to do it up it won't be too tight or too loose. If he can fit his whole hand in though it is too loose
