I bought Pip some "l" flongies from Twins in Cloth last nappy hunt, and he still hasn't grown into them ... cow print too :(

Maz - i'd be frustrated with the itties getting caught in the door too - i think that's why i'm so wary of using the dryer - paranoid of wrecking things!
i'm going slowly insane today - very slowly, but getting there - between loads of washing (ours and Gremlin's), cooking up the veg from the garden before it goes bad, trying to dry everything inside and cleaning out the study to use it more for storage i'm just doing my own head in! DH claimed to have cleaned the study last week (did ok, but it was a boy clean - stack not sort and get rid of stuff) - so i'm now being the heavy handed biatch and making it happen properly. have sent out two boxes of recycling, a basket full of charity stuff (without really thinking) - compacted a stereo box full of stuff into a small tub, have worked out in my head where everything needs to go to make a heap more room - but i need him to move it and don't want to offend him by making him feel he didn't do it good enough last week....
ah well - i can hang nappies on the airer soon - nice easy low conflict task!
ooh - q re cushies - how many pre washes would you all do? i have only washed the shells of itti snap in ones onces cos i figure they don't need more - but with a true AIO, how many washes before they're absorbent (sorry, i am trying to make sure they work from the get go so that i don't give up in frustration if they don't absorb well from the outset kwim)
I jsut went and had alook at the twinsincloth site and there's a pair or NB cow flongies OMFluffiness!!!!!
BG - hon I have no idea about washing but as a rule I wash anything with bamboo in it 3 times. I was my bamboo here before I make anything 3 times in hot water but thats so it shrinks ect. I might have to get an new airer now.....jsut for the nappies I think ;)

BG, I only ever pre-wash once now, and just change a bit more often the first few wears. No problems here. I think I only pre-washed my nappies twice before E was born, and never had any absorbency issues. Newborns need changing so frequently because they poo so often, so absorbency is much less of an issue with newbies than containment (and fit).:

Im barely 1cm and my cervix is still posterior (and so is he, so Im madly trying to get him to turn grrr) so he definately isnt coming in the next few days *sigh* I laughed hysterically when my midwife told me I wasnt even 2cm after being almost 4cm for the last 8wks before I had Ripley at 37wks :rofl: She keeps telling me he must be a girl after all.........ha she's met my DH she should know where my boys get their painfulness from ;)
Its broken me though, Im so over this preg crud, I just want him out so I can feel normal again.

BG - I only prewash once, like suse. I just don't see the point in wasting the water for no reason iykwim. Just be aware that they aren't as absorbent as they could be. I think the max isn't reached until about 10 washes for some fabric anyway, so there isnt much difference between washing once and washing twice.
Are all these auriels on B4B going up from the same person?

Heya! I prewashed with doing a "prewash" rinse and then a full cycle which rinsed again as well as the wash. I figured that was 3 rinses ;) and it was all good.
Jovie finally asked to sit on the toilet tonight & promptly did a huge fart. Lovely... at least she isn't screaming everytime we try!! I think on home days we will be putting the potty in the lounge room for availability sakes rather than the bathroom. Maybe dressing her in dresses.... and bare bums. At least we only have 1 rug and the rest is floorboards.
ETA: Maz I still have the cow print cover I bought off you... its one of my 8 covers that I have for the 6 remaining nappies. So you may need that if your little man is growing so well :)

Anna - have you read the turning babies websote? they have some great stuff for posterior bubs. Also I know a fantastic chiro in town who specialises in pregnancy chiro she turned my bub from breech to head down posterior and then worked on me just before I was induced to open the ligaments to help bub turn during labour - sure enough as soon as labour started she turned! - also just cause your cervix is posterior doesn't mean you won't go into labour!
Maz - did you see all the cow print links gigi has been posting! Maybe there some HH there. I know someone who has HH cow print onesize and a Nappy hunt dicount ;) Ouch on the itti bitti vrs dryer! Hope there wasn't too much damage

Night nappy update - woohoo Ari slept through in a NN last night! No leaks nothing. It was our GNST but instead of the bamboo foldups I chucked our SBonesize booster in there, doubled over with an extra fold at the front/top (which is where we get out leaks) with my gorgy chocolate Maz cover (good enought to eat) Fingers crossed for same success tonight.

I had also ordered some happy babes liners and a sage HH and a pretty bumwear to try but they have gone missing in the post:cry:
I'm so cranky I didn't pay the extra to register it, I won't be doing that again.
I am obsessed with nappy's now! And baby legs (or hugalugs) Its all so pretty.

Well I am back from my weekend away! I had a blast!! Now all these nappies to wash...
Hopefully I get fluff in the morning. Expecting my WC order, some ittis & wool & a wetbag, my MC Auriel and some other cool things from Ollie Rose. So fingers crossed for me!
I am soooooooooooooooooo tired! Partying just isn't in me anymore!! I did have a drink though... I feel so naughty!!

Hi everyone, I've been on a break, mainly because life suddenly got very busy but I'm back.
Unfortunately I don't have much nappy news, I think it's because truthfully I don't need any more! :o No, I lie I do need a couple of night nappies for DS so I did order a Sandman last week and I'm waiting for someone's NN to be stocked.
I've been doing a bit of nappy hunting and I haven't done too badly so far but I'm about to retire as everything left is too hard and I just don't have the time. I haven't spent as much money as I thought I would but I did buy some clothes for the children and some party supplies for DD's birthday party next month. I hate giving parties! And this is only the beginning, it can only get worse from here on.:wall:

Anna - If you want some distraction from waiting, my girls are at daycare today if you want to catch up. I was wondering why I hadn't gotten a text over the weekend and assumed he was the stubborn 1.
All my washing is done!! I reckon I could get 1 load and some nappies, but the rest is done!!! Now I just need to keep on top of it.
Anyway, I need to log off and go to the physio, and then when I get home ring DCO for some help.

We have a very good parcel man that knows me well (I shop online A LOT and we have a labrador that loves him and since he has one too they play) and he would notice if my name was on a parcel that went somewhere else. Maybe it will turn up back with the store?
I just really wanted those nappies and can't afford to buy them again. Also I noticed their site says the sage HH is out of stock now.

Jodie - be prepared to be enabled hun - everyone in here is just pure EVIL (but in the bestest kinda way!) - they will help you find the nappy of your dreams and everything else. from the comments in here, DH has become quite impressed at the different nappies we have - he even chooses which ones to get when he's home (costs lots more when he does that!)
And BG is the worst enabler :ROFL:

Why do people buy stuff from Gossamer Dreams stockings and DONT use them only to sell them off for high prcies down the track!!!! grrr. I cant understand if you try a nappy and then resell it later cause the fit isnt right and get a decent amount back fair enough!!!!! but to buy sutff and hold onto it when others would buy and wear it straight up.....grrr it just makes my blood boil!
AND these people that buy stuff cheaply second hand, hold onto them and reseller them later and get a bucket load MORE then the original price. The poor WAHM who worked her butt of to make it gets JIBBED big time.....ahhh maz needs to shut up and do something constructive!!!!!!!
