i've BTDT and then been exposed so many more times i'm sure it's all good from my end - but i understand if there are people with little kidlets that you'd stay away (so Mr M, you best NOT have chooken pox mister!):

Wild Child... are they really that good?? They have some pretty cheap atm, and I dont have any.... almost the only brand I dont have :rolleyes:
PB - i prefer genessa forge to wild child day nappies...... i got one of theor night nappies though and its really good (but really huge for little laaaa right now!)
but they are still a good work horse nappy

I think i have my NN prob sorted...i added an extra booster/soaker to our sandman..although it was still damp on the outer it wasn't sopping and a booster on the outer of the nappy... damn kid when he does finally move isn't going to be able too!!!
I agree, I've been eying off a few things second hand but just can't bring myself to buy them if they are going for more than what the WAHM would have sold them for in the first place.:

Although I was upset that the auriel I put in my cart last GD stocking was taken, I was happy it was you. Do you know why? Cause you bought it to put on your babies bum and you love it as much as I would have. You didnt buy it to put it in the cupboard and 'get drolled on' you are using it. I just get peeved at people who are buying up stuff and not using it to sell it for much more then the WAHM made it for in the first place.
I sold my WC bling...the fit just wasnt right for Mateauz. It took me bloody 6 weeks to let go of it and I cried putting it in the mailbox to its new home today BUT I tried it and it didnt work. It didnt sit there unused to make more $$$$ out of it.

Maz - it makes complete sense - the WAHM's aren't making nappies and selling them as cheaply as they can to become collector items that are to be sold at a huge profit later - they're making them to be used!:
we have collections of many different things here that we've bought to appreciate in value - but they're things that are MEANT to be collectable (well, bundy isn't made for collecting, but paying over 600 for a bottle means i ain't letting him drink it!) - they're things made by corporations and they kinda expect people to profit from them eventually. that isn't the case with nappies! they're made to be wrapped around little bums and used!
Hence why I could never justify spending $100 on a nappy that is just going to be shat in... LOL:

No nappy news for us except Ari kept me up all bloody night last night and wasn't until 4am when she woke up properly (rather than half asleep grumblings) that I remembered she was in cloth and she was pointing to her nappy saying "off off" So I am back to the drawing board again.

Pretty butterfly - genesa forge - only one "s" caught me out too. Yes minky and quite a good fit, have found the absorbancy quite good also

Maz - Totally get what you are saying re the profitering types hoarding nappies, that's just not cricket is it, or in the MCN community spirit, IMO. That's why I am so suprised things like customs etc go for mega mega bucks, because most MCNers I have met are so down to earth, not obviously consumerism driven individuals.... it sucks that people want to profit from others hard work. :( (But that is hardly anything new is it...?)

sarah - Hyernaring is when its bought out in a blink of an eye at release time...sort of has something to do with it but not IFYKWIM.
ETA - Mel nah some people reselling them have bought them secound hand cheap and selling them for around the $50 or buying them brand new and saying in their disciption that they havent even been washed. Us WAHM's do talk you know ;) its a secret society :rofl:

i've been asked if we "need" MCN's - i just say it's a small price to pay - and my collection of MCN's for Gremlin have cost no where NEAR the cost of the grog in the bar (esp the collector stuff!) and at least the MCN's will be used...:

For those who have been telling me off for doing housework and other things that must be done - I went to the GP today, and I have the paperwork for a temporary disabled parking permit!!! So on Thursday (payday) it will be lodged. Please :pray: they approve it!!

LOL.
Saram - hearing you on the cloth while sleeping thing. I'm actually starting to suspect its bothering DS during his day nap too, so am going to try him in a sposie tomorrow :wall: He has also soaked through 2 d'lish in the last two days which is really not like him. Probably a bit too long between changes but still, they were drenched :dunno:

Aus Post update- they rang to ask me if I got may package yet..I said no so they asked me to confirm my address and said it seems like it is somehow linked to the ATO...what the!? I don't think anyone at the tax office will be into my nappies!
has anyone used mini lalas? They look like they have some super nice patterns, their next stocking isnt for a little while. I hope I get one tho!

Maz - I can't believe people would actually do that tho. I think that's just so greedy and sad, to make something like a WAHM-made MCN a "collectors item" and re-sell it without using it, for a profit. It goes against everything MCN is about, particularly WAHM-made ones. It's not just gorgeous fluff, it's hundreds less sposies in landfill and plenty of little bottoms without nasty rashes or chemically treated stuff wrapped around them. It's hard enough convincing some mainstream folks that cloth is a cheaper, better option. But when people go and get greedy like that, well, it makes me have a little rant like I just did. Apologies, but it annoys me. And it takes advantage of us addicts, and that's just not noice!

Fluffy mail! I got an elephant, a Mr Messy and a bicycle cover! Pity it was due to storm tonight (it did) so I couldn't put a load of washing on. But I definitely will first thing tomorrow, the good thing about covers is that they dry fast so I'll be able to start wearing them straight away.
I also got my first two mama pads which I don't actually need yet and I'm not even sure I'm brave enough to use but I really want to try them.
ETA I've just noticed I said I'll be wearing my covers straight away! I mean DS will. I don't think I could put one of those on my butt except maybe as a bandaid.
Well after all the talking I figured I better check out these auriels - wow they are a pretty spesh nappy. I am guessing from all the hype that they are pretty rare - what is a reasonable price to buy them for? I read on the CK blog that she will be doing a "first time customer" stocking again - what does this mean? The bigger qu is, will Ari's TT continue to be on hold until May?????
willow - yes alas it seems miss A will only wear a night nappy when the wind is blowing in the right direction, the moon is at the correct position in the sky and if I hold my face the right way :-) Mind you she slept for 3hrs today in a abbygro that should have already been wet as I didn't get a chance to change her before she conked out. Go figure. Can't wait to try out someones new NN when they become available.... Hoping these will help change Ari's mind about NN

1. I have lots of those bonds terry body suits, if bubs is a 0000 :crossfingers: will they be big enough for cloth to go under or do you go the next size up?
Also, do you get compression leaks with these sorts of suits?
2. What size Maz cover to go over BBB on NB fitting?

I also thought of a Q I have been meaning to ask... the gals have spoken about pre-washing the nappies to create absorbency... do I have to pre-wash the covers for any similar reason? or if I did pre-wash them would it just because I would be pre-washing all of bubs stuff?
