Ok ladies - someone please remind me how the freakin hell I put my wild child bling boosters back together? I've spent wayyyyy to long trying to do it and gave up. Every which way I put it together they end up not even reaching DS's willy? All covering his bum IYKWIM?

congrats rhyb!
Mothers day was quite unforgettable, in a BAD BAD way. It ended with kicking my dad (who came for my grad) out. It was bad :( at least I got stimulated today
Decided I need some 'me' time away from the Monsta so will look into doing a short course of some sort. Thinking of a craft one so I can put it to use.
Not in the best frame of mind, but hope ur mothers day was enjoyable.

Hi All
I am a bit nervous coming in here- feel like I am eavesdropping/gatecrashing sort of thing but I know none of you will bite!
Anyway, am trying to get my head around MCN and thought that maybe there is a nice Perth lady in here who can direct me to where to find MCNs retail (although I am not holding much hope of finding such) so I can actually see them and feel them so I know what to buy! I have checked plenty of sites and they all look so lovely and I follow the threads here but still can't work out what I need until I can see them! TIA
-
SamiH
oh wow, using MCN with two nappies and the rest sposies - no wonder you're a bit confused! doing two systems, simultaneously! wow, i admire you, that would confuddle me too much. Props to you for using mcn WHILST you're building your stash.
i built mine whilst pregnant, so could it 100% once bilby arrived. i find what you're doing, very inspiring.
HEYGOODLOOKING
when bubs have diarrohea (sp), it helps to have a loopy fabric e.g bamboo terry, closest to their bottom, cos the loopy fabrics soak up the runny poo the best. if it's gastro, be aware that the gastro bugs can stay in the mcn for up to two weeks AFTER your bub is well. very important to use ONLY hot water to wash the mcn if she's crook atm.
CHARMLEA
what sort of training pants are you after?
stay dry inner or feel wet inner?
100% waterproof for going out
or to catch one wee at home?
Pullup style or snaps style?
high rise or low rise?
i've tried a few in the last while, LMK what you're after.
PINK - welcome back!
ANNA T - bum geniuses have a stay dry inner of SUEDECLOTH.
BRIGSY - hope you are ok after your tumble - take care hon! no dancing on the tabletops for you lovey! Your dh sure does sound like a keeper, hang on with both hands! wot a love.
RHYB - congrats! my fave nb option (for pootainment) was bamboo prefolds/trifolds/foldups - folded in three inside a leg gusset cover like bambino mio or imse vimse in nb size. good workhorse option - but i had a bub that pooped every two seconds, so needed a foolproof method.
how far are you from Mossman? that's where the Nurture Nappies real life store is. Or ring them up, get a delivery. Look at the SALE link, on the nn website.
ALIOOPS - you are going to be a STAR at the using the snap press, all this practise you're getting in !
bilby checks out the hygienic state of EVERY toilet she goes into, so not territorial, but fussy! (which i'm not trying to discourage LOL).
SammiH - up to ten now - woot!
i'd love to hear a review of the cheekybutts, once you've had a chance to see how they are.
TERU - wow, you had a very dramatic Mother's Day. Good on you for deciding to put some Me time into your life. I'd love to learn how to do scrapbooking, to put into some folders, the photos of bilby's life so far. i have not put ONE photo in an album in 2.5yrs!!! we have taken thousands of photos.
months after getting my sewing machines, lessons being cancelled, i finally think i'm going to get my lesson tomorrow, the phone rings, the sewing teacher has "done" her back. Another fortnight, probably longer of no lessons. SO i have the machines now, but don't know how to use them. argh! so much sewing i COULD be doing. i got the machines as part of the bargain was "free sewing lessons".

Rhyb- WOW our bubs are same age...
Gosh i would Love to be UTD but mustnt be me you have been sniffing... got AF the other day.. :( 2 weeks late... :( DP was happy cos he would like to wait a bit longer. Might have to plan a trip to Mel's... lol. That could work... i'll tell DP that its a holiday when its to get Mel's babydust... LOL
GiGi- yeah i have been doing hot washes... Using my flats for the moment. hate when she dirties her pretty ones... LOL. I dont think its a bug i think it was too much fruit... lol
Welcome KatieRabbit-
Love this new Ecobubs that i got from Mel... Gorgeous fit... i was so eager to use it i just gave it 1 normal wash and got it out to dry... LOL... i also have her in some neopolitan babylegs... lol... need some pink and choc brown striped ones to match...
-
Welcome Katie :D
Jess - I dunno if my "babydust" is that effective if I'm not pregnant - so come visit before next year ok ? ;)
Finally told my sister last night about #3.... she was like... I didn't even know you guys were trying.. and we're like.. well we weren't like, trying (as in charting and stuff cos I don't know how to do that anyway.. lol) but we weren't using any protection and we know the risks... so uh yeah, I *think* she's happy for us? Hard to tell.
She did a mad laugh at the "3 under 3" prospect though - and said that I'm going to go insane cos 3 under 5 (what she has) was bad enough. And I said, well you only go insane once right?
WOTB's: still night nappies. Gotta pull my finger out this morning. going to see OB. Wish me luck!
-
Congrats Rhyb!!
Mel - if your insane what does that make me mwuahahaha. Youll be fine hunny, its not as hard as it looks ;)
Better not be me being sniffed thats for sure, ever since I let Dh break the drought Ive been shaking in my knickers. I just dont trust non-hormonal contraception but Ive forgotten to ring and get the IUD put in. Ive been cramping and eating like a pig too.................hopefully thats just AF lurking and me just being a pig lol
Can you be 'allergic' to suedecloth Gigi?
:( Its time to pack up all my newborn fluff and find it a new home. He's only 6wks old for goodness sake, Im not ready for him to grow up yet.
-
Anna - Yes you can be allergic to suede cloth, it is a synthetic material. :crying: Why do they grow up so fast?
The IB got the seal of approval from Em this morning. 1st time it has been worn in our house and 1 lovely big poo. It is a good fit on her too so maybe we need to get some Itti's when I am allowed to buy nappies again.
My ankles are almost back down to normal size!! But my legs are so darn itchy from these pressure stockings. I am showing signs of develping PE. BP is still ok, but much higher than my normal BP, Protein was a trace and of course the swelling and headaches, even while I am on Panadeine Forte. So I just have to keep resting. Have another MW appointment tomorrow morning. I figure though that if it does develop into PE and Leah stays head up, she will be out in 2.5 weeks without a fight from the Ob about a CS so not such a bad situation for me.
WOEB: WC fitted.
-
Anna, magicalls are suedecloth too, and we had NR with Kane bad..... sold them, and no rash since!! ;)
Mel, you can do it babe!!! Wer'e not mental, just a little on the crazy side! No other way to be babe!!!:lol:
Maz, I still have a itti bitti tri fold and hourglass, brand new, large, if you want more. Someone asked for some, I cant think who, but they never got back to me.
woHb.. ticklefish, lavender
woKb.. yellow IB,

Anna - the stay dry fabrics used for the inners of most aio's, pockets (and some fitteds) are usually
- microfleece
- suedecloth
some bubs react to those fabrics. Bilby tolerated them fine for 14 months, then all of sudden, could NOT tolerate them, so we had a "re-jigging" of stash at the 14month mark.
i got her mcn with natural inners (e.g bamboo, hemp, sherpa, cotton, flannelette) and made lots of double layered cotton velour liners, and double layered flannelette liners. Bamboo velour liners would be great too, i just didn't have any.
the mcn i coudln't BEAR to part with, that had synthetic inners, i put on her sparingly e.g one per day, and lay in a cotton velour liner.
the majority of the time, i put the natural inner nappies on her (most of which were fitteds), and put a cotton velour liner inside (stain prevention of nappy inners) - changed her more often (due to no stay dry layer) and used handknit woollies alot (for maximum ventilation).
when the nappy rash subsided, i began to put her back into night nappies with a microfleece liner laid inside (not entire inner). so gradually, i worked out, she could tolerate microfleece at night, but not all day as well.
i remember when her synthetic reaction happened - my thought at the time was - OMG - i have to give up MCN now! noooooo! twas a big relief when all these online people gave me helpful suggestions, so we could stay with mcn, just do it a little differently.
i also did other things like
- changing to the most sensitive wash detergent i could find
- making sure her bottom was 100% dry after a nappy change BEFORE putting next nappy on her
- using sposies wipes very sparingly, (only when out for poo nappies)
- only using water for nappy change time
hard for me to isolate the ONE thing that made the difference - i got lots of ideas given to me, i tried heaps, and all i can say is that IN COMBINATION, the nappy rash went away and stayed away. I sure noticed the difference if i forgot, and put a microfleece inner nappy on her, without the cotton velour liner.
Lots of this is about OBSERVATION - you put the mcn on your child, you notice when their skin flares up - notice WHICH nappies this happens with. then try out your theory. Have a day WITHOUT the fabric you suspect. Have a day WITH the fabric you suspect. compare.
PRETTY BUTTERFLY
what size is your IB insert set? is it hemp or bamboo? PM me.

Had a bad end to mother's day here, my oldest DS fell out of the tree and knocked himself out, stopped breathing for a few seconds, ambulance call and in hospital for 4hrs, not fun. He has a mild concussion and had the last two days of school, doing better now, and he can't remember what happened.
But I got fluffy mail yesterday so that was a bonus, I got a flame GK, a denium and tangerine CT and 3 lots of babylegs. My stash is now 15 strong and I'm waiting for my 4 magicalls.
woJb GK outback trucks, b/l blue and brown stripes

Mel - arh dont worry about your sister - maybe she is jealous! lol. 3 under 3 sounds fine to me! :)... makes room for 4 under 4 :P
Rhyb - congrats hun! happy preggy!! :)
Ali - thanks hun! :) i cant believe you are 34 weeks.. have i really been away that long.
The past 6 months i have been using my BBB without any covers... as winter approaches... i am sad to us covers haha... why i have no idea :(
We are all sick here - trying to get DH to take a sick day so i can rest ~

Nurture nappies is STILL looking for helpers at the Sydney baby expo, so if you live in Sydney or have a functioning broomstick - contact NN site. (you lucky things).
i'm dithering about number of night trainers to have, we have three, whcih i thought would be plenty, but we seem to be scrambling to be able to find one to put on her each night. dh is clothes challenged - he is not able to go to clothes airer and LOOK for one, like i do. no, it is either sitting there waiting for him, with her pjs, or he is lost. i don't know if we are just running short cos of The Cold That WOn't Go Away, or we really need four. hmmm.
why is his man cold mean that he is not doing any laundry, but me, with womancold, am still doing laundry. i feel like the only grownunp here sometimes. i don't have the energy or patience to actually say "go and look on the clothes airer". i know he will come back and say "i can't see it". i hang them on the ends, top rung, they are brightly coloured. argh!
AManda, welcome, you sure had an eventful mother's day, hope your DS is recovering well
. ALioops, glad you feet have "gone down" - is what you had, like CANKLES?
RAY RAY - how are you doing today?
-
Hello lovely ladies!!!
Just a quickie from me! No fluffy mail, but my UGG boots arrived which are very cool (as cool as ugg boots can be lol) I hope they fit tho!
-
Gigi - my ankles were about the same size as my thighs!! bigger than Cankles!!! Bleurgh to Man cold!!! No sympathy!!!
Beautiful Maz - Get well soon hun, you will be missed while you are recovering!!
PP - Yep :p You took the time out that you needed babe, which is more staying power than I have!!
JIC some of you havent seen Maz's thread - She is offline for a few days having some surgery to get rid of her ouchies.
Ray - Labour vibes ;)
Eej - Ugg boots are fluffy :D
Mel - at least it's only 1 ;) I told you about Nan, you'll be fine. Just make sure you have some help during pg, I do not want to be bringing the frame down when I come to Brissy for you to use so take care of yourself.
WOEB: I can't remember, she is sleeping
WOSB: Giraffe CT, and will be going back to bed soon, whether she likes it or not.

Ali - yup care is being taken ;) I went to the physio today, she said my pelvis is great - straight and strong for the moment. My back on the other hand :wall: I've done something to a muscle and its killing me at the moment, so we just have to wait and see if it will effect my pelvis because its in my lower back. fun fun fun.
