Can anyone going to the brissy Baby expo do me a favour? At the Sydney expo Nurture Nappies had great one nappy wetbags for $15. Now they are $20 on their website plus postage. When I emailed about the price increase they said it was just a special for the expo. I only bought one not realising how useful it was. Anyhoo my favour to ask is could someone buy for me if they are $15 again? Of course I'd tfr cash first etc.

    Peapods.... what the hell?!?!

I know peapods aren't the most rated nappy around and only a basic MCN however they work great for us!! DD has never had a leak! Anyway, I did some washing today and did my warm wash with a few of them and my other MCNs and as I was hanging them up, noticed that one of the peapods is showing some serious wear!!! I'll try to explain.... the plastic coating off the PUL is coming off on the inside so it looks like really thin plastic sheeting hanging off the PUL does that make sense??? wtf..... I'm seeing Peapod at the baby expo in few weeks so will show them then. Not very good considering it's only been worn maybe 20 times?? do they use a cheaper type PUL??

Any ideas girls why it would do this?

CM - I wash mine after every use.

EEJ - I'm going - hopefully meeting up with Ren and some other BB girls, so I'm sure one of us can help you out with the wetbag.

Ren - peapods... delaminating? Do you know if they come with a warranty at all?

Miss M has decided that sleep is the enemy at the moment, so I'm living on coffee, coke and cups of tea. Not good for the growing bubba, but neither is mummy falling asleep on the job!! Would be ever so much easier to get through these days after crappy nights if the toddler was still having a day sleep!!!!

*yawn* Better get to bed I suppose. She is still up so have to try and convince her to fall asleep with us instead of playing silly buggers.

And I agree - this Melb meet up sounds awesome - watch out for the pigs

WOAB: Snooooooozy .. cos he's snoooooozin'
WOMB: KK & a liner cos she's got nappy rash real bad and I had to use Sudocream (lucky I found a tester that I got from a bag when she was born!!)

Mel - yeah that's what it's called umm i think the warranty is 6mths from date of purchase and we bought these at the baby expo June08!!!
do you think i should take it to expo to show them and they might just give me a replacement? i think thats pretty cr@p if they dont. i've looked after them.

Marlene - the amount babies wee at night, can change at various times, esp teething - and as they grow, so i still think it's good you have Jack in a night nappy. So when he DOES drench it, you won't have a mess to clean up!

i'm using that moo goo anti ageing cream on the back of my hands, that area has been so bad, since i had bilby (washing hands constantly) that the skin has cracked and bled at various times. Love that anti-ageing cream for soothing and healingthe backs of my hands. i doubt ANY cream could rescue my face! ha ha

Renstar - sometimes PUL does de-laminate, from what i read, that's a manufacturing fault. i would contact where you bought it from first, then the Peapods site itself. Unfortunately, it sounds like they are well past the warranty date - but heh, you can only try.

Cheeky Monkey - i'm another one not going to the meet, so we'll keep each other company.

    i wash the wetbags if
    - they had carried a poo nappy home
    - if they smelt to me
so just use your judgement (your nose!), on each ocassion.

Note: bilby is tt-d but i STILL take a wetbag with us everywhere, in case of "accident". So wetbags are useful in The Life After MCN!

Alioops - glad your mum is coming to help - your family is a real "tag team"!

Maz - Vy must be missing wearing all her gorgy fluff! Do you still have enough of a stash to have two in cloth right now?

the turtles Auriel sounds great (love to see pics when you can manage one).

Hailey - i hope your bamboo delights turn up, they are lovely nappies. the soy/bamboo version is lovely too (so thirsty).

i thought no baby pooped as often and as powerfully as bilby did, as a nb, but i think Finn "the Rocket", has pipped her, for the gold medal!! Having solved it with the leg gusset covers, that is why i have been praising them so much, for all the laundry, scrubbing furniture, changing my clothes i DIDN"T have to do, once we started using them.

MLM - that's wonderful that your bub was such an easy flier, enjoy your trip away.

i flew with bilbs at 26 months old, so she had her own seat ($$$) and it was VERY awkward trying to breastfeed her, for the descent, when i wasn't allowed to have her on my lap. i'm very short, she's very short - argh! killed my back doing that.

wotbb: knickers and stockings and shorts at CC. her first thick stockings (under a red dress). would have looked adorable, only she was in SUCH a strop this morning, wouldn't let me brush her hair, so she's gone with "bedhair".

Thanks for the answers on wetbags ladies.

I had only been washing mine if it smelt bad or there had been a poopy nappy in there. We barely ever have poop in MCN as he uses the toilet for that. Just wasn't sure if my "take a wiff" approach was ok. I'm going to purchase another wetbag anyway I think.

Teruteru - That pair of soakers is gorgeous, your mum is talented! I wish I could knit. I can crochet, but only a few basic types of stitches and only blankets HAHAHA

To all the ladies going to the meet up - have tons of fun, and take tons of photos! I'm a photo lover and want to see some when you all return home.

For all the ladies staying home - YAY! Thanks for keeping me company over a lonely weekend

Now if only someone could make up my mind for me on which CT's to purchase with Ali's great special. *sigh* it's so hard to keep the $$$ down lol

WOPB: Abby Gro Patchie (Bee). When I first put it on I thought the boosting was a bit much but seeing it on him now it looks fine. It's my first Abby Gro and I will be buying more

Oh almost forgot! Put DS's sandman on him for the first time last night. He woke up at 1am wanting a nappy change, but it wasn't very wet. He's been wearing disposables to bed for the last few weeks because we didn't own any night naps and he was outwetting everything else. Could it just be that he needs to get used to the bulk on his bum again?

Gigi - Mum was going to come up on the 10th for a VB anyway, so we just got her to come up a few days early. Can't keep my Mum away from her granddaughters too much, they love her to bits and she loves them to bits. Only thing is her aversion to MCN, but oh well, if she wants sposies she has to buy them coz we cant afford them, and we have plenty of nappies here to use.

CM, I wash mine after use too. I need more of them though, coz 1 just isn't enough and I always forget to stick it in the nappy bag.

I emailed The Nappy Bucket about extra large nappies for Sarah yesterday, and Sam got back to me really fast. I asked her if she could show me her rec's and look at doing a package with layby, so waiting on a reply to see what she is available.

Also waiting on a replacement booster. I am sure it is the bamboo that is slightly dodgy because my snaps dont take any of the washing weight, I have them unsnapped for washing and drying, and the peg mark is at the opposite end of the booster. Might have to take a pic of them hanging on the line so Shell knows that I have them under no strain whatsoever. Ahh well, I was bound to get 1 one day.

    WOEB: No idea. Childcare.

renstar, I've heard quite a few pea pod delaminating stories over the last year or so and generally people have had them replaced no questions- not sure about the waranty period though, but even after a year it shouldn't come off in a sheet like that- that's some defect.

gigi- a tip for travelling, even if you have an over 2year old and have purchased a seat... the hosties have NO IDEA... I've always been given a spare seat even when Finn was an infant (we travel 2flights minimum per month) so I just ask for an infant belt.. they say "how old is he" and I'd say "almost 2"... and they give one.
So then you have the "option" to try bilbs in her own seat, or on your lap if she wants to be there, and safe for takeoff and landing with the belt.

When Finn was exactly 23months, I tried him with a seatbelt and he just mucked arount slipping out, so I popped him on me. 24months, he was better, but for landing I still used the infant belt. 25months better again, but I still used the infant belt a bit. 26months and he's fine in his own seat all the time now.
At least if you want to BF for takeoff and landing you can use the infant belt and not be breaking the rules, but have their legs etc over in their own seat so you aren't all crunched up.
Sorry to go on.... I've been through everything with flying with Finn LOL (and usually just Finn & I on our own). I find longer international flights are heaps easier than quick, boring short interstate ones.

Washing wetbags... I rarely had poop in mine, but always wash for a poo or if a really wet nappy. No fitteds with FInn though, so wee was contained in the nappy.
I think with #2 I'll be needing more wetbags and be washing for each use, poo or no poo.

    tk1999- nice soaker! very cute.

No bamboo delights for me today :-(. I was really looking forward to seeing them I've heard good things. Will have to remember the soy ones too now.

I'm so jealous about the Brisbane baby expo... I'll miss it by 3 days!

We KNEW you would be back in here Mwahahaahahahahha!!!!

Ummmm True AIOs... hmmmmmmm. You know what, the only ones I have that are true AIOs are the old magicalls!! Most true AIOs take too long to dry for me. Apart from my sewn in stuff (like the Basix which dont last as long on Em). Maybe someone who has some more ideas will pop in?

PP - I don't have a hell of a lot of AIO's in my stash - mine are mainly fitteds, pockets or AI2's (are you sure you don't wanna do AI2's? highly recommend some!!)

What about bubblebubs? I know you've had those before... ummm thinking what I have in my stash... bubblebubs... cushies... ummm.. christ my brain isn't switched on today.. oh duh - bumgenius sized aio's are my fav cos they dry really quick... monkey doodlez are ok, found the bamboo better than their older style ones though - they are only good for miss m.. ummm i think thats all I have. and yay for full time cloth
