Ezy have you tried a large minky magicall? They are awesome, the rise is so much better and I can see these lasting a long while!

TK maybe you could give her lots of baby clothes to wash? Even if they have already been done and just do the nappies yourself. Or ask her to just wash in cold, since they haven't been used and are just prewashes it doesn't have to be hot. She could just be under instruction to do say 5 washes with them on cold and line dry?

No real nappy news here. Still got the runs which isn't making nappy changing fun. Have stopped almost all solids until it stops so lots of booby today.

I am very interested in cloth mama pads. I react to synthetic ones and bought the cottons brand but I seem to not be coping with those either!!! Is there a cloth mama thread? What do ppl recommend..so twinkle lily?

Also I know this has been asked before but what washing liquid/powder to ppl use? I was using Purity but my coles has stopped selling it and they don't seem to sell any other sensitive ones!!!!! They took am-o-lin off the shelves months ago. I want something good for mine and ems skin and the nappies.

ezy- not sure abt BB but theres a thread for mama pads on NC. powder-wise Ecostore (Safeway or online)

    eta
    kitten- snap!
im on a lappy most times, but once i get stuck into the sewing, im happy doing it until i get frustrated with the machine doing weird things which by then i want to kill it!!
my machine sits in front of the telly on a coffee table, but i have to move it every time im done.
with that said...fabric buying is just as bad as nappies

there is a cloth pad thread on here .. its under the period and contraceptives heading ...
I love love love my twinkle liky , i also have some platinum panties ... and they are great too but only the regular ones so they are great for the lighter days , my very 1st set of cloth pads were outrageous ones , they have a PUL base and the pads snap on to it , and you just chage the pad .

but i would have preferred it if the pad and base were attached as it bunched up a bit , so they are my back up stash .. i soo want some more , but i want to try different ones , but its sooo hard to resist twinkle lily !!

im a huge fan of the surfboard at night time and TL arent super thick (actually really thin! - but absorbent!!) and they (biggsies) are really really long so its good to know no matter how i sleep , i wont have to worry about leaks . and cloth on cloth doenst move around so they stay put !!

also the yummy velour is just devine against the skin !!!

i also have 2 chickadee pads , i got them off ebay and they are good too .. i would reccomend these as a starter pad , they are good quality but just flannelette and a lining of PUL .... they are cute and do the job

enabling anyone yet ?????? def check the website cloth pad reviews - its run by the lady who make obsididan star pads ( and so is the cloth pad shop ! )

etsy and handmade has a load of whams who do them too .... theres pocket , aio and a12 ... bit like nappies really

must talk about nappies now .... well i want more ittis and i want more GF ... i just have no money as DS broke my camera , it was awesome and took ripper pics of the kids .. but i coulndt live with out a camera so i had to buy a cheapie untill tax $$ came in ( getting an SLR ... woot !!) so thats where my money went !! but i did score a bargian ... targert has a 8.1 megapixel samsung , point and shoot camera for $80(it was last one and gave me a deal) and i got 4 gig card for $19 , the camera is cool for minimal outlay ... DH was happy as i didnt touch the ge card .. i do miss my other baby , i mean camera though ...

lea - i noticed that TL do a trial pack too, one of each size, might grab one.

teru - LOL! yes i know it sounds easy - but our lappy is a "desktop replacement" laptop - she is huge - and she is connected to the TV, audio system, external harddrives etc... so moving her is a bit tricky!

great nappy drying weather here, i think the night nappies might just be dry after 2 days and not need 3

maz - thinking of you babe, you really are blessed

wohb - she is still asleep so tis still the maz nn

Maz - OMG wow I am so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a wonderful surprize. All the best hun, hope all goes well.

As for the woolies those purple ones with the shirt are so cute - thanks Maz but I only need them for nights and just couldn't justify taking them off the market when she wouldn't get to show them off to thier full potential :-( And by the time I finished agonising over them or the normal ones the normal ones were sold out so we are still on the hunt for some big longies for 16kg+ I have found a few places with them instock but wondering are all longies created equal? The ones we got from sustainable hemp products are great but if I could find some for under $50 it would be easier to *mask* the purchase from Dh

Teruteru - love my mama pads and always willing to be a guinea pig if you need a tester I have a cup as well which is fantastic! and use mainly the twinklelily, some from SHP and some from obsidian and a couple from clothique. Love the natural fibre toppers from twinklelily and silk on SHP!

I tried out my new GF last night and LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE is in the house! It is a brilliant night nappy, did DD1 for 11 hours, wahoot. Not sure how long the small will fit her though.

Anniversary turned out to be a bit of a disaster. After cooking and cleaning most of the afternoon, I asked DH to stir the cake and put it in the microwave (literally 20 seconds work) and he said I should do it so that it is done properly. This was while I was trying to soothe a screaming baby.

Oh I hear that loud and clear hon. I love fabric and get the biggest high finding the right stuf.

Cloth pads...ive been buying them from bohemian rainbow (on wahmnaps) great price, and nice combos. I prefer ones with velour on top ahhhhh and I still have a few i made myself. OH and some from sunshine and lollipops that are nice and big for night times.

Totally understand about the woolies Sarah. Im sure Mel had some that were $35...gosh I cant remember the name.

Thanks for everyones well wishes......im not getting exctied yet...will take what happens when it happenes. Will have to go to the doctors next week sometime adn see what's happening I think my body is playing silly buggers big time.

I have a load to nappies to do and hand out..sun is shining so will chase it around the back yard with the clothes horse

Teru lotus nappies have a pretty good rep. I've not had one though. I thought I saw that they were purchased by BBH but that was a while ago and it may have been just a rumor.

rofl at visions of you moving the clothes horse around chasing the sun Maz
