thats great news on the food issue Gigi . little ones can out of the blue try something and love it and amaze us !!!

and being a toilet nazi cant really be fun !! DS took ages to poo on the toilet . about 6-7mths after he got wees down pat , so i kept him in nappies untill he could do a poo in the toilet .. out of the blue he told me he needed to poo , so i said "yeah whatever ... off you go then " (coz i was sick of him doing it on the floor and didnt really believe him ) and whaddya know he pooed on the toilet .... !!!!
but it took him a few days until he did it again , and he had a bit of a runny tummy so did about 5 poos in one day .... from then its history ... (oh chocolate as bribery helped too !!! )

and for those who say bribery is wrong , it only lasted 2 weeks of say " come on - lets see if you can do a poo on the toilet , if you do you can have this choc (had it my had for proof) IF you dont do a poo , mummy gets to eat the chocolate " .... it didnt take him long to realise i was serious and did a poo every time , just so i didnt eat the chocolate

DD had the longest day nap ever and woke up in the happiest mood , and is now laughing at anything , mostly at herself ... hehe so cute ..

WOGB ? skull and cross bones lou lou ..... with from the smell of it - gluten free toast that was lunch !!

i need to ban myself from certain forums so i stop buying nappies...BUT ive sold some to cover the new ones, so it doesnt sound as bad

Lotus nappy- everytime i used the nappy, ive had leak issues...grrr...

Ladies, calling on your collective wisdoms (I'm having trouble doing searches in BB - internet plays up when I try)

What do I need to have in my nappy bag?

I get that there should be:

• nappies (how many in general)
• a wet bag - for the dirty ones
• wipes of some sort (what do you recommend?)
• change mat

What else should I have?
I intend at this stage to BF - so I don't think I will need bottles to worry about for a while (will have to express later for CC)

i think most of us use cloth wipes instead of the disposable ones.

for me, i also had spare breastpads, bibs, hankies, extra change of clothes for bub, packet of tissue, Munchies!! and bottle of water (sometimes)

as for how many nappies...depends on your bub & how long u plan to go out for. i usu only have 2

Gigi - good luck with the speechie assessment for Bilby - is it delayed speech or a speech problem - hope it all works out. Woohoo on finding something she likes to eat - always a battle in our house with DS

When DD was little I used to keep about 4- 6 nappies on our nappy bag with one or two wetbags depending on how long we were going out. Wipes I use cloth at home and out and about I use the Natures babycare (I think that's what it is - woolworths) changemat yes when I remembered

Liz I have 4 nappies for Leah and 2-3 for Em (usually she uses her own backpack though), Cloth wipes, Foamy wipes solution, changemat, clothes for Me and Leah (Either for BB leaks or pooplosions) a sling, BPs (I need a fair few pairs), nibblies, water, wetbag, spew rags, a plug (when I am out and those up the back poos... well you need a plug to use the sink to bath the baby), a muslin wrap, tissues and bandaids. I use all the pockets so it all fits - only just.

I think I have missed the last 2 threads - I am soooo out of the loop, I feel like an intruder now.

Have decided that Elly's pretty nappies are the one constant I can go to on this forum - even when she's rejecting my boobs for the bottle mostly these days, I am so sick of exercising to shift these damn pregnancy kilo's, and am starting to question whether AF will even come back to start TTC #2 towards end of year - there's always nappies!!!

Am really regretting not asking you ladies for the details of the nappy selling places you get stuff from are. Decided to sell my new surplus IV covers on Ebay - because had to do Something will them, and had to relist all 3 of them as nada the first time, and one just sold for only $5, which is not too bad but they're $20 covers, I was hoping for more like $10 . . am now really nervous that the other 2 might only sell for $1. Eeek, ah well.

Does anyone know how long you leave a wool nappy cover to soak in lanolising water??

Sas - I'm not sure if it's too late to pull out of ebay or not but the sites you are after are buy for baby and nappychic. Google them hon. Also for the cover, I'd say half hour is long enough - some do it overnight I believe but I've never done it more than half hour.

Anna - I'm having trouble figuring out why XDP got the sleep in instead when it's YOUR birthday? I'm starting to think maybe these are reasons he's now an X...?

Well I've just been told by DF that I'm not allowed to buy any more nappies until after our honeymoon.

DS doesn't need them any more so each time you feel like buying a nappy - put the $30 into the savings account for honeymoon spending money

Ali, I crawled home at 1:30am Was a long night by mummy standards but a short night by pre-kids standards heh.

All my nappies are now officially packed. Ive kept out a few of our MAL covers so we can hide the dreaded sposies (I just couldnt not take some covers ). Now to just finish packing the suitcases and we're ready to go.

teruteru Lotus nappies, LOVE them, as soon as I have some $ in my bank ill be spamming the forums to get some more in a large. Ashton had a M but he grew out of it They are so nice and trim and absorbant. On the cloth pads, let me know if you want a guinea pig

PrincessXanthe sorry to hear your anniversary didn't go so well. Sometimes males are clueless Love love love our GF super night here too! Ash can wear it for 13 hours without a problem!

Maz holy hell how did I miss that? Congrats!! And I think the woolies your thinking of are the Kozy ones? We have a dino soaker here which I brought for $10 months and months and months ago, LOVE it!

leckert in our nappy bag we carry,
2 changes of clothes including singlets and socks,
a spare pair of babylegs or HL.
a wet bag that can hold up to 4 nappies or more,
around 4 nappies for a 5 hour trip, up to 8 for the day, better to be safe than sorry.
Around 10-15 wipes. We use face washers.
Baby carrier
Change mat
bonjella and panadol
and some toys
a couple of bibs
a spare pair of breastpads

Sorry but I can't think who was after pics of a GF night nappy?? But here is Ashton in his It's a large super night and a side snapper. Gorgeous nappy and lasts us all night easily!

Ohmy goodness - I am shocking this time around and lucky if I remember to take a spare change of clothes for Z - the other day I went for a walk, had a tub of yoghurt and a container on the bench all ready to go - forgot it of course, so ducked into the supermarket and bought a banana - I still have some disposables in their I have forgotten about - which I am sure are far too small for him now

Fluff news - I bought 4 Itti D'lish in L off Nappychic yesterday brand new - i think z will still be in a M for another couple of weeks, but now I will have them ready to go - oh and a L ecobub too ....

waiting and stalking to see when new Eco bub comes out ....

Em did the grossest poo in her ecobubs today thick and green ...blah!! Not normal at all. She is nearly fully FF now as I have given up full time expressing. A little sad but feels good I was able to do it for so long! Not looking forward to those formula poos in our pretty nappies!!
