that sucks mel , i got ripped on b4b a month or so ago , i contacted admin , but havent heard back form them or the seller , so i wont buy on there anymore .. im sorry hun , what ever happend to honesty ?? most of us are pretty genuine but in my exp (ie - last week and the baby food/nappy incident) not all of us are ...
my little squirt got a work out today ..... sickness poos are gracing the nappies every hour or so , i have to be careful about the panadol staining ... its not like she drinks it anyway , spits it straight back at me
sigh - i am outta the nappy buying game short term cos DH isn't working much (but having him home is awesome!)
i have just seen some pics of the most gorgeous nappy cover that is in the works - Maz - you're a LEGEND hun
WOEB - ummm a flat and maz cover of some sort - soon to be more of the same and off to bed. poor poppet has some nappy rash - she was so good today while we were out and slept HEAPS but it meant opportunities to change her were not as frequent as at home when she is awake more - lots time in the car and now her little bottom is red tonight...
hehehe maz did :D chocolate stripped one
Mel - that is just crap!!!!! IM so weary of buying stuff on ebay unless its paypal as ive been burnt. what did your buy form her?????
BG - hon im so glad you like it....thank you for giving me the opportunity to give alittle piece for E's special day
Helen - check out gossimer dreams (with the trimmings ;) ) aswell. they do once a month stockings on the 15th of everymonth and CK have auriels up then too
:hello: my fellow nappy freaks its cold in da house
WOMB - WC and cheetah MAL cover
WOVB - eco stuffed
morning all :waves: agreed it is cold .. got the heater crankin' its and industrial size one but the stupid thing is in the dining room NOT the lounge where i spend most of my day ..... it heats the dining room and kitchen up and just makes a big noise,so we cant turn it on early in the morning as it will wake the kids ... what kind of idiot puts and industrial size heater in a HOUSE and only in 1 room ???? must have been a male ...
lucky im not a fan of pockets coz eco bubs are cute , but just didnt do it for me ...
well ive been thinking about fitteds lately , ones that are sized and can go under longies .... wonder how much bitti boos RRP for .... hmmm or any other recco's ... Im sick of folding down the BBH's for gabbi , she is still in the infant size but the crotch is too long and looks like she has a huge package
and as for nappy news ... the fluff fairy is visiting soon and im really sooooo excited .... is it ok to cry over a nappy if its sentimental??
another s*hit night here again .... gabbi up all night on the boobie crying when something touched her face (swollen lip and gum from and infection:() and just was out of sorts . 3am nixon had a coughing attack and then wished to watch cartoons , but jumped in bed with us and coughed in my face ... 4:44 DH got up and hocked his gollies and made man noises .... so i got up and gave gabbi a bottle and for the 1st time in 4 nights slept for about 5 hrs .... so dh and i are just moody cows today ... plus the stress of a big decision we have to make kept us up all night aswelll ..... oh well lucky for coffee !!!
WOGB - tiger striped itti ... hear me ROAR .... meow
Boo's are $27.95 hon..but I know someone who has a few that she wants to sell on :)
and YES get excited honey!!!!!! fluffy mail is always exciting.

phew  someone stinks......... oh that was me
yeah maz ??? who .. pm me :)
Hi Ladies
No nappy news.
So sad, so sad.
Good news though, DS's grandmas operation went well. Now for all the whinging and "help me with this, do this for me, go do that for me" begins :( Two toddlers to care for, for a while at least.
Very happy though, just bought an easy cook health oven. Very cool. I have a knack for turning DF's birthday presents into things for me ROFL
Plus today I get a mix master YAYYYYYYYYY Been wanting one forever.
I guess something good comes from not buying fluff - more money to spend on kitchen appliances. DF got a kayak out of it.
Lea - you're perfectly ok to cry over a nappy, especially a really sentimental one ;)
Very very very excited, I'm going to be a tester for the very first time ever. Night nappy of course, no need for the others lol.
WOPB: thomas the tank engine undies
Boohiss, DD1 out-pee'd her GF last night, and I think the pee got cold and woke her up. So it was a long up, up 3 or 4 times by the time I fed her, figured out that her nappy (which worked perfectly last time!) was wet, changed her and put her down again. *yawn*.
Mel are you still after donations? I have a BBH & Wool soaker here.
WOXB - BG.
quiet in here today !!
I'm here ;)
... as always lol
I got nuthin to say...
.. as always ... lol
Actually I do - I tried a Rumparooz the other day on both kids, its actually pretty good!! Surprised me it did, thought it was going to be a bunch of you-know-what, but its good, only fault was the velcro rubbed on their tummies, but I'm told that isn't a common thing, so has to be a skinny kid of mine problem I think.. lol
WOAB: Ecobumz - white. Pocket.
WOMB: Cuddlebuns & longies (which are a small, so they are like 3/4 pants - but the rest fit her. haha)
im back from meeting with some of the girls from NA.
i saw a ticklefish, pity im not a fan of velcro otherise i wouldve got it :D
waiting on fluffy mail this week...hopefully they'll come
im done with wipes for now, moving onto other things on the to-make list. DS needs new home-shoes so will get them done this week
off to the airport this arvo to pick up my auntie
ive bored u all with my talking out aloud, so i better be off...
HI girls,
I'm here too have been out and about this morning. I got fluffy mail!! More itti bitti's! I ordered 3 and some bamboo mini boosters. I ordered a baby pink one but got sent one of their limtied edition pink spotty one's didn't realise and I've washed them now never mind it's still nice! DH was home and I told a fib saying they were a swap.
yeah still after donations. Happy for them to be sent here and ill send them all together :) Don't feel really comfortable sending her details out to a heap of people without permission yk.
I brought 2 CKHB off that chick. SO annoyed :( Oh well... stupif B4B. Wont go on there again.
IM here...have been busy with amigo's..went for a walk down to coles instead of driving for a change....cleaned up a bit, did washing, had one of my besties over :) now cooking goulash (traditional way)
Have bought a nioce choco rco from someone (dont know if I mentioned that before ) and waiting patently for a my first GF :), knits for knot longies, snaps, fabric, longies form a co-op.
Im thinking I might buy another Eco or 2 for Vy. I had her in IB's but in the morning it looks like her butt is cooked red raw...horrible and it doesnt go..she also complains of an owie jaja :( friggen super sensitive kids! But the last 3 nights Ive had her in IB boo's (after Renee said she used them) and WOO HOO no saying her jaja is sore, nor red bum
Feel's good to find something working so well after all this...boo's are nice and slim still so she doesnt look rediculous and the eco's are just as good.
SO strip washing a few of her nappies tomorrow :( and off to market they will go.
i'm here! dh has been home sick, laa is super clingy and i am starting to feel yucky myself :(
maz - google bib n tucker - nappies are similar to ecobubs but the leg holes are slightly larger. she is n.z and she will do velour inners ;) the lovely gigi put me onto them
i think i have to get rid of my bundle of buns and my berryplush, just not working (yet oh sooooo pretty!)
px - was that a super night ?
teru - i am itching toi go buy material... mum said i can borrow her machine to practce on!!:dance::dance::dance::dance:

wohb - swaddlebees eco
Ok I think my post got lost into cyber land...
...can't be stuffed typing it again sorry girls.
Will be back later ;)
Hey beautiful ladies!!
I had forgotten how much time NBs take from me!! She is feeding 2 hourly at night and 2-3 hourly except for a 4-4.5 hour sleep during the day, so I am pretty knackered!!! But it is working, she is gaining weight and fat wonderfully, another 240g this week!! And those little chicken legs are starting to get some fat filling the skin on them. More of her nappies are starting to fit!! Now if only I could find cheap jumpers in 0000...
Anna should be in Syd now, hope the flights went well!!
Nana - welcome home!!!
Mel - Bugger!! Sorry, everything here is in use or will be very soon. We only just scrape through with 80 nappies for 2.5 in them, washing daily!!!!
I had a visit from a fluffy fairy (Saram) today. She brought the cutest SpunkyButts Small for Leah. It will get prewashed in the next nappy load. And some Imse Vimse organic cotton bibs - which are really good!! She hasn't been sick on them, I've just leaked on one when I let down too fast for her. And the bigger girls got a Play School DVD, which Sarah couldn't wait to open and watch!! MWAHS hun!!
I can't find my HAB!!! DH put it away somewhere and I dont know where. Leah is being clingy and I want my full range of movement in my arms.
I have started using my cup (after making sure it didn't hurt) and I LOVE it!!! I even forgot it was in earlier!!

it is theoretically possible for a baby to wear night nappies 24/7, but this is why they don't (my hunches)
- night nappies have double the layers of absorbency compared to day nappies (the bulky bit), so they usually cost more, often double the price
- the extra bulk is harder to accomodate under day clothing
- takes up more space in the nappy bag
- night nappies are designed to be worn for long stretches, so if you had the baby in the night nappy for a long stretch in the day, well, i doubt you would actually GET the long stretch, cos they would poop, you need to change them when they poop, so then you need another (expensive) night nappy, so you'd need a sizeable collection! ($$$)
- night nappies usually take longer to dry, so are on slower rotation (being able to use them again) - except for night pockets, like the Drybees night fleece pockets.
so there you go, i'm all out of hunches about that theory now, i'm sure other people will throw more in
NaNa, if only you could have had a stop over in USA, where you can buy bumg's in Target! LOL.
Teru - i've listed side snap night nappies so many times, and i showed you ours when you visited, are you sure you want me to bore you again with another list? What you describe, does suggest SS night nappies to me. They're not easy to source, easiest (and i use that term tentatively) would be Cute Tooshies night nappy and Whizz Kidz Nightz. (both fitteds). for covers, i would go the dancing bears and the disana woolly pullups (no closures, great for SS bubs and tired mums).
Maz, are you using large itti bitti boos on Vy as a night nappy? Is Mat still using his, or can you use the ones Mat had, on Vy?
Charmlea - i had the same experience with BBH OSFA, no matter what age bilby got to, they were always too wide, too tall, gave her wingdroop something chronic etc etc. They are a WIDE crotch nappy, and i eventually found out, the nappies that DID fit really nicely, were all SIZED and narrow crotched. Like the itti bitti's - except we needed sidesnaps as well.
Missymoo, sorry to hear you got ripped off.
Hope all the sick bubba's get well soon.
Alioops - lovely to hear you and Leah are doign so well. how is your pelvis now? do you have physio or some kind of medical attention to get it better? hydrotherapy? (i'm trying to imagine a hydrotherapy place with a creche to look after two toddlers and a newborn!!).
Hope you find your HAB soon, so easy to lose "black" things, they just meld into the ether.
wotbb: bluberry trainers and lovely longies
The nonverbal bilby tells me alot with her actions. bilby has stopped eating dinner, i think she has replaced "i will only eat vegetable puree" with "i will only eat scrambled eggs". (Even the night i made a crustless quiche with 8 eggs in it and looking alot like scrambled eggs in consistency - argh!). Am trying to stand firm and consistent by taking away bath toys and night time stories (as the consequence for not eating dinner), but gee i feel like a meanie!!!
she has stopped begging for other food as she has worked out, all she gets offered is the original dinner. e.g tonight, tiny bowtie pasta in tomato pasta sauce. (she would have got her fave, muffin, for afters, if she had eaten the pasta). How long should i hold out for?
she's feeding her pretend knitted fruit and vegies to her toys and enjoying that experience. If only it would translate to HER eating!!
Brigsy, is that super spesh cover for Emerald's baptism? very gorgy.
Gigi - the boo's were Mateauz and I put them up cause of plumbers crack lol but they fit VY perfect....IM so happy that Renae suggested it to me...love giving something 'old' a new lease of life so to speak. IM defently getting rid of the delishes now.....Jed went to put one on her last night and I flipped...i dont want owies on her toosh again!
Cat hon..thank for the the heads up...gorgeous stuff :) I had to put my name down for one of those rainbow minkee ones....now how many have you gotten form her?
CM - I had problems posting in here last night to so gave up :(
ALi - wait until you use your psinkybutts...love ours
:hello: everyone, hope today brings fluffy goodness for you all
be strong gigi !!! stand firm to your word .. toodlers eventually learn .. im not good at keeping promises/threats with nixon .... the other day he sprayed shaving foam and toothpaste all over my bathroom, i got mad and said NO cartoons and NO masterchef(he loves the show lol) but i wanted to watch the simpsons ... there fore allowing him to watch cartoons  oh well ...
maz im bummed about the boo's ..... gabbi is just so TINY for her age:wall: i betcha all her bday pressies (clothes ) will be the right size in the wrong season lol.... MIL brought her tracksuits for easter in 0 ..... had to take them back for 00 even now at 10mths im buying 00 and 3-6 monts in pumkin patch , anyone else have a bub like mine ??? i sick of ppl telling me how advanced she is for a 7mth old
WOGB --- sposie filled with poo ... its raining here ...
no fluffy mail but i am going to bite the bullet and order some bitti boos :) just after i vac and get ready for playgroup at mine ...!!
oh my, BumGs at Target in the US?? I still wouldn't buy them again though... I just don't feel the love anymore! Too bad they make up more than half my stash, so I'm getting by with about 13 other pockets/OSFAs, and terry flats for now. Until I fix em up, anyway. I have a couple of BBB around somewhere too. And thankfully DS is getting used to being home again and using his potty.
Gigi, good luck on the food thing with Bilby! My SIL is going thru the same thing with her 2 year old right now. It's tricky, and I wish I knew the answer. DS started spitting his food everywhere if he encountered a grain of rice, small piece of pasta or lump of vegetable in his meal while we were in Lebanon. Then he would refuse to eat another mouthful. Coming from a kid who would happily eat risotto and nothing else, it was a shock. I went to so much trouble to get similar foods for him and cooked up the same stuff he would eat at home, but we had to resort to expensive imported jars of French babyfood meant for 6-month-olds... and DP ate the risotto! Now DS only wants to eat French bread and Boursin cheese, brioche and croissants!
And to make this nappy-related... um... I just can't describe the odd smell of Pampers sposies. They have the weirdest texture as well. So glad to not be using them anymore!!
Ali - I hope you find your HAB!
Oops, kidlet's awake... BBL!

Ladies!
I;ve heard a few of you talk about doing some kind of Canesten rinse? Does that mean I would be able to use Canesten cream on DDs iitti bum without a liner in my cloth. Nappy rash looks soo sore I think I need to break out the Anti-fungal JIC.
Found It!! It was on the other couch with all the washing  So she is sleeping on me now.
Sas - I would use a liner JIC (says she who uses hydrocortizone without) but it is completely up to you.
Gigi - really good now. Still get a bit sore near the end of the day, but that is more in my back than my pelvis. Haven't tried lifting Em yet, but hoping to do that as little as possible anyway.
Lea - Em is nearly 2 and has only recently gone into size 1. Her size could be to do with her intolerances.
WOLB: Froggy CT Couture
WOEB: White CT Basix

Sas - I think the Canesten rinse is an actual liquid you put in your wash, that you can get from pharmacies and maybe the supermarket. Not sure... Depending on the cream's base (petrochemical etc) I wouldn't use it without a liner. I wouldn't use any creams on nappy rash without a liner, just in case!
Ali- her size could be the intolerance reason , even though I had her at 42 wks, she was sti so tiny even the pead was surprised at her size for such a late baby, maybe it's just her and She won't be Fat growing up, coz I was and I hated it!!lol
gabs is in a sposie I couldn't be bothered assembling nappies as she's still really sick and I will be out late tonight so plastic bum it is
Haven't made up my mind on fitteds yet do SB do sized or just osfa?? Looking. For a sale to justify my purchase lol
We're doing a strip wash ....nappies are smelly as hell
out ot hang them in the sun now (we have sunshine )
anyone else experience delays in getting stuff via mail? Is AP really slow or is it cause its just me?
Yep Maz - They are superbly slow. I'm a bit over them these days.
AP problems here too. Stoopid AP. Plus I almost ran over an AP motorbike today as he cut me off. GRRR
Hmm not much news - packing away the nappies tomorrow :(
AP issues here too. sam posted me something i should have gotten yesterday - still waiting....
WOEB - mummy is a mcn addict ww
lea- SB do sized & osfa. which style were u looking at getting (pocket/pocket fitted/aio)?
maz- ive been waiting for fluff...shouldve got it yesterday/today, hope its not lost :(
so much RAK going on atm, its always good to see ppl r willing to help in the times like these. ive now got a sewing partner, no excuse to not sew no more haha except for the travelling time :P
im so slow, only realised bubblebubs & cute tooshies are now run by the same person. took me multiple emails to notice (even thou its her signature)...it wasnt until i was saving her email that i noticed...ive had multiple blonde moments today GRRRR
oh wellz, back to the kitchen i go...
and for tea tonight bilby ate NOTHING (again). sigh.
wotbb: blueberry trainers and longies
NaNa, what is brioche exactly?
ALioops, glad you found your HAB, hard to look for stuff when you're in a sleep deprived state (which i assume all mums of nbs and esp those with other kidlets as well, are in.
AJP - hope you got my email about narrow crotch trainers.
DH has ordered my snap press (late Mother's Day pressie) on the Greenbeans sale (free postage to Australia) which is a big saving. so now, after bilby is out of mcn and has all the bibs she needs, i will have a snap press. am hoping it's true what i've heard, that the snap presses are useful for other reasons too.
Saw some lovely rainbow shorties on elly belly (ozebaby store) tonight, if only i had reason to buy them!
Clothncraft are now stocking the Drybees Night Fleece pockets, been ages since they were stocked in Aust.
Charmlea, it's you who looks for CATERPILLAR stuff for Gab isn't it? i saw on babybullfrogs nappy site, under CLOTHING, they had i think a skivvy with the hungry caterpillar on it, applique maybe? Might have been a caterpillar nappy on that site too.
talking of sizes, i JUST took bilby's size 1 tracksuit pants out of her wardrobe, FINALLY she is too tall for them! but many of her size two pants are very loose in the waist, i don't like the elastic waists you can't adjust, no way to make them smaller, cos if i unpick ALL THAT, i might as well buy a new pair.
she must have a long torso, cos for length in tops, size 3's are good. (but need sleeves folded up/hemmed. We have lots of size 2 tops that fit everywhere EXCEPT the length.
anyone who knits, is there a way to learn how to read a pattern (i mean a REALLY simple pattern) without sitting next to a knitter? i can knit and purl, cast on and off, increase and decrease (teach myself from you tube videos etc) but cannot read a pattern to save myself. How do i get to the next step? Would love to knit an entirely PLAIN stitch jumper or vest for bilby, if only i could work out, "how do you learn to read a knitting pattern?". all those K's and numbers, i just go dizzy and blank out. reminds me of maths lessons at highschool (i got U's in maths!!!). that is the worst fail you could get. I need to work out necklines, to make a boat neck or a V, to get over her big noggin.

it's helpful to use a microfleece liner when you use PETROLEUM based barrier nappy creams, on your bub for nappy rash.
you don't need a liner, when you use NON-PETROLEUM based nappy creams (often called salves) on your bub fo rnappy rash.
the way to tell a barrier NR cream
- a solid colour
- cannot be rubbed into the skin
- feels oily
Lucas Paw Paw Salve (red packaging) is also petroleum based (just to confuse you).
Some nonpetroleum based ones are Simmons paw paw salve (yellow packaging), hemp bottom butter, hemp healing balm sold at natures cradle. Weleda, and the black tube that i always forget the brand name of !!! grrr
i did thanks gigi!! will sit down today and read through it again!! thankyou so much
Grr I always forget what I was going to post!
We had a fun night last night.
DS went to the toilet for wee wee like he does before bed every night. Ten minutes later from his bedroom comes "Mumummmmm wee wee!" so I get up and put him on the toilet. Yep does a wee, great go back to bed.
10 minutes later "Mumummmmm pooooo!" So I get him up and put him on the toilet. Yep does a poo and goes back to bed.
10 minutes later the cycle repeats lol he thinks he can get out of bed lots if he keeps telling me wee or poo. Needless to say it stopped working after the 3rd time and he eventually went off to sleep.
After all that wee-ing though, he still wet his night nappy. First wet one in 4 nights.
No other news here.
Anyone know the best way to store nappies? I want to pack the day nappies up for the next baby just not sure what's the best way. Was going to put them in a large plastic tub with a lid and maybe put a scrap of bamboo or hemp in the bottom with a bit of lavender on it to keep them smelling fresh?
Should I strip wash them before I put them away? I was thinking it's better to strip wash them now rather than when I get them back out again for another baby. HELP! I want to deal with these today.
Gigi - thank-you thank-you thank-you. Reading your post this morning you reminded me to buy a snap press. I've wanted one forever but didn't want to pay the $40 odd postage. I need to make a whole heap of small and medium covers for the next baby. Got lots of fitteds but no covers so the press will be handy. Then hopefully the next baby will be a girl and I can make pretty dresses and tops with snaps lol wishful thinking.
Teru - there certainly are a lot of different RAK's going on hey. I wish I could help out but can't part with nappies. Anyone looking for boys clothes? Got lots of them.
That brings me to another question: Anyone know how I can find details for local womens and childrens refuges? I have lots of baby clothes and ladies clothes that I'd like to donate to them. I'm sick of donating clothes to salvos etc. and then seeing them on a rack for unreasonable prices. I've tried simply looking in the yellow/white pages under refuge - not sure what else to try?
Are there any other worth while places to donate clothing to?
Sorry my post is getting long now I think I'll leave it there and come back for more later lol
WOPB: Yellow car undies
Thanks gigi off to looksie now ..... im crap at math too .. Dh is my calculator , i ring him when i need to work out %off or add something , hehe i am dumb:)
teru - i am after sized fitteds in SB as i love SB but can only seem to find the osfa version ....
Helloooooooooooooooooooooooo
*ECHO ECHO ECHO*
cm - coooeeeeeeee LOL!
lea - weewuns stock the sized ones i think? thats where i got mine, i love them love them love them.
so many nappies to love really!
wohb - DFM
Love the swaddlebees sized AIO pockets too... Still getting DS into a medium, so that's cool. Weewuns had some end of range ones on sale a while back.
Gigi - Brioche... is.... yummy! It's a yeasted cake/bread thingy with lots of butter and egg yolks in it. You might have seen some little cake-ish things baked in a fluted tin a bit bigger than a muffin, with a ball of dough on the top - well, that's brioche! Sometimes in loaves as well. Or as we discovered at our local patisserie in Nice, swirled thru with custard and golden raisins. They did the most awesome chocolate almond croissants too... oh dear, pastry tangent... back on topic! Snap press might be useful for adjusting waists on too-big trackies?
Black tube of pawpaw ointment is nutraceuticals I think. Has beeswax in it, so I haven't tried it on NR yet. DS hasn't had NR for a while!
WOAB: BP
I feel like I am a legitimate member of this thread now that Grace is here! She is smaller than expected so we aren't able to use the OSFM nappies yet :(. So I'm hunt for small covers so we don't have to wash every day.
just a quick Q - what is the best thing to use on DD2's bottom as she has a bit of nappy rash?
WOGB - not sure DH changed her last (but it feels great to be able to say that)
