NaNa, if that is the WC you got in the swap, it prolly isnt up to full absorbancy yet, i recon it was washed 2 times then used and washed 2 times. I think bamboo may need more that that....
CM,dont stress :)
Teagz, CTs say they are from birth but it is my experience they are on the large size, my 4mth old is on the newborn fit and has only been able to waer them from about 3 mths onwards. He was 8lb 11oz born so he is not small. I do love mine tho.. The small ittis were da bomb for him as a NB ;)
-
MLM - nah, it was an older one. Seriously, this boy just sprung a leak last night! It was ridiculous.
teagz - depending on your bubs size, perhaps when they're earthside you might want to have a look at nappies with organic velour inners, like swaddlebees and some WAHM-made ones that can do custom inners with natural fabrics like bamboo. Reduce the risk of any sensitivities to suedecloth or synthetics.
WOHB: Bubblebubs GNST, which DP put on back to front. Again. Seriously, what is it with him? Everything's upside down, back to front or inside out. Every time!
-
 NaNa maybe he's doing it for a laugh??
Ashton has horrible nappy rash again, stupid me gave him a little cows milk the other night cos I had a couple of drinks... thought he would be ok since he is 11 months now but noooooo... that was Saturday and he is still crapping 19 times a day and his butt is red raw :( Hope it stops soon cos I was almost going to go buy a pack of disposables but said no I would ride it out for another day. Anyone else have this? It's definately the milk cos this is twice now.
I got this nappy second hand the other week and only used it a few days ago and OMG it is wonderful! Has anyone else used baby softwrap fleece AI2s?? They soakers in it are soooo generous that it can be used as a night nappy easily and they are side snappers. I am in love! Going to see where to buy them later, even though I can't buy any more nappies cos I have too many. Wish I had of found these before!!
WOHB: Baby SoftWrap, and he's snoozing for the night :D
-
Mel, i had a similair problem with Hamish when he was younger and stopped bf, i put him on cows milk and it either ran out the other end or he threw it up, he still cannot handle cows milk and he is 5.
ok girls well i am full mcn now, have no sposies in the house and am actually finding it really easy. Dh is even happy to change his bum. Emma loves picking out which nappy to use.
I have a few more different ones coming from Mel and am going to email nicky about getting something special for my little man.
wolb: BBmagicall
-
mel - if only. He can be such a bimbo at times... *sigh* well, he DID used to be a flight attendant once upon a time! But maybe he's smarter than he lets on and he's just messing it up so he doesn't have to do it any more... ooh that's evil, but I doubt it! He puts his own clothes on inside out sometimes.

Thanks NaNa - needed a good laugh!
We've found DD2 has a sensitive tush so I'm busily making bamboo inserts and boosters to put in her covers and the inside of her pocket nappies so she has no synthetics against her skin. It's easier than buying more fluff as I think DH freak if I bought any more :(
We didn't give DD cows milk til she was about 3, but now we only have soy in the house. Much better for everyone, including DH's tummy.
WOGB - fuchia ib d'lish... DD1 picked it but about to be her new bamboo flat and cover for bed...
-
Hi everyone - my DD arrived on 09.08.09 at 34w1d gestation... she is currently in the SCN and all of my nappies are at home NOT prewashes... LOL I finally found out that DPs mum had not started pre-washing but seriously did it have to take me having to deliever early for her to say she hadn't started.
We are using sposies in the SCN (I doubt even my NB nappies/covers etc would fit!!) and am looking forward to getting stuff pre-washed so we can get into cloth as smoothly as possible!

Hi everyone!! Home today yay!! Went to playgroup and Em just had the best time she is really interacting with the other kids now.
On the nappy front we have major rash issues at the moment so she is steroid and suedocreamed up therefore in sposies.
Congrats again TK.

Good fluffy afternoon ladies.
Got 2 lots of fluff today, my lovely itti from CM and I do believe that my spunky butts customs are awaiting me at the post office.
Will have to wait for adam to get home so i can go get, just got lil man out of the car after his 4mth vac, so dont want to make him mad by going out again :)
Yay for fluff
Yay for me
Not so yay for lil man an hour ago.....:(

Thank you everyone for your well wishes - it has been hard with Caitlin being in SCN so DP has been talking about how cute she will look in some of the nappies and covers I have bought... he realised fluff made me happy PMSL!

hi all
not a lot happening nappy wise so i've been a wee bit quiet! E has stopped filling every nappy, and only goes a couple of times a day now. i think i preferred the every nappy thing - soooo much less mess!! she's a little gassy bum through the day though!
she sleeps 8+hours every night, and doesn't tend to wet much over night - first feed in the morning usually results in a doozy though - feed, burp, fill nappy, change, feed, sleep again for a few more hours. love it!
nappy wise - itti's and widdlewuns are our faves here - they are a really good fit on my little poppet. she's finally started outgrowing some of her nappies (first nb cover from maz, and monkey doodlez nb's) - but all her other newborn covers from Maz still fit nicely. i keep thinking she's getting bigger, but her nappies aren't reflecting that!
WOHB - ummmm a flat and Maz Elf cover. all the yummy nappy's are drying in the rumpus room - we tend to have one day home, one out - so the good nappies are used for out, flats and covers at home
ETA - congrats TK!!
-
gee that 2 months has flown by BG!!
Got my 2 nappies today from the nappy swap :) Loves them.
No other nappy news here.
We went to the Seahorse World and Platypus House today and it was awesome! The kids got to have a hold of some awesome sea life... hermit crabs, star fish, sea cucumber and some others. Get up close to the echidnas, Chase was a little scared as they sniffed his shoe hehe look at the platypus and seahorses up close. Had a great day :) Ashton slept the majority of the time in the ergo.
OH I got my babyhawk today! Going to belly dancing soon so get to use it for the first time. Think I should have gotten a toddler one, I have a feeling it's gonna be too small, his head is not where I expected it to be :(
-
Fluff, are you still looking for a jack in the box embriodery?
-
MLM YEP hun still after a 'JACK-IN-THE-BOX' ebroidery pattern

Hi Ladies,
Can I join this thread??
I have been converted to cloth progressivly over the last month and it was the best decision ever! My beehinds FINALLY arrived today after 7 working days so I have something to put DD in when we go out. Im going old school terry squares at home which I actually like suprisingly, they are cheap and dry in no time which is good. So I got magic alls and Ive heavy duty double hot-washed them and cant wait to use them!
Hope your all having a good night :)
-
hi all
well i don't know whats going on with my Lachlan today but he has managed to leak through every nappy today except for his bb magicall which he slept in. I think though the lady at occasional care may have not done them up tight enough. apart from that i think he was power weeing today.
He finally had his 12 month immunisations today as the dr gave him the all clear from all infections finally.

The BH fits WONDERFULLY! I love it!!!! *puts ergo in the cupboard*
Nappy news, poops are still runny :( Needing to change almost hourly which is a pain but im SO glad I have 100+ nappies cos i've needed them!! Been horrible weather so nothings been drying! Might have to stop washing the clothes for a day and dry these nappies.
-
Hi peach! Welcome to the fluffy side! Another terry-flat user here too :hello:
Um, no nappy news here either. Except I think something's been eating our wipes. Somehow managed to run out this morning and cant for the life of me think where they've all gone. I have dozens... oh, but wait! DP's probably put them somewhere completely random. Must go check the fridge.
WOAB: zebra minky blueberry
-
Well I have now built up enough nappies that I am full time woo hoo. No sposies since saturday night, as the night nappies where drying. I am thinking maybe need one more night nappy to make sure that I have enough for when waiting on washing to dry. But will wait and see.
I know have 15 med itti bittis snap in, with 8 extra inserts. 4 aio itti bittis, 4 bbh minkee magicals (thinking maybe boost and use overnight if need be. and 4 bbh bamboo and 1 wool cover, (another on the way), so enough to go full time.
WORB um itti of some type can't rember which colour

Novice needs help
Hi - I need some guidance ....
I have a lovely Bubblebub night nappy here from the nappy swap - and I am very scared - it has confused the crapola out of me with all the bit and I dont really know what is supposed to go where and why if that makes sense. Inside is a snapped liner - does a bamboo insert get folded and put under that - OR on the outside another bit is snapped on with another insert folded to fit under it - do I use both inserts???
HELP me girls  pathetic I know.
-
There is a small optional booster that gets folded into four and snapped under the bit on the outside. There is a fleece-topped booster that snaps on the inside. They're pretty challenging, arent they??
-
Sami - did you get two A4 type booster things with it? If so, then its the setting for a heavy wetter. One goes under the fleece liner that snaps in the inside of the nappy, the other goes under the other liner type thing that snaps on the outside. I have two of them, I think they are good. Freakin bulky - but good.
Hi Peach - welcome :D
Tan - if it makes you feel better, Aricyn wet through everything he was wearing yesterday too :wall:
-
Thanks so much Nana and Mel - yes 2 x A4 type boosters - so for a trial I should do both and see how he goes first yeah - best to be safe than sorry - but yeah seems to be bulky - dont think it will fit under a Bonds wondersuit!!
-
I just have the one extra A4 booster for DS, and the medium size just fits him still, but the waist is on the tightest setting. Another booster and he wouldn't get into pants! He's a heavy heavy wetter but only just manages to soak thru that. Haven't tried it with longies tho, because the longies are red and anything that touches them ends up pink!
-
Feeling pretty excited here - will be back in MCNs tomorrow - had bad nappy rash (so red it was raw and had to see the dr and got antibotics :( ). Spent the last 2 weeks in sposies and sudocream.
Big question - how can I minimise nappy rash in the future - (apart from frequent changes which we had been doing)?
I have got MSM moo goo (now) and the black paw paw cream. tried the paw paw cream before seeing the dr and it didn't seem to help - might have started use it too late.
-
find out what is causing the nappy rash :) With us it was 2 things in the beginning, a reaction to washing powder and a reaction to synthetic inners. I lined everything with bamboo boosters and started washing in hot water with nothing else. Since then we have been able to go back to whatever inners we want but still no powders because that still makes him come out in a horrible nappy rash :(
-
leckert - what kind of MCN are you using for bubs? Just a thought (and it might be a bit horrifying...) but the inner or lining could be a factor in causing the irritation. Some kids react to synthetics, some kids develop a reaction over time, others are fine. Also, what wipes do you use? Cloth or disposable? Do you use a wipes solution with cloth wipes?
I'm no expert, coz DS only gets rashy when he's teething, and then only a little bit. I would consider everything that comes into contact with bubs bot and go for an elimination process. HTH.
I am also a bit excited. SIL is committed to using cloth on her little girl due in 6 weeks. Not for the first few weeks, probably, but thru observing my obsession my parents have decided to get all the other relatives interested to chip in for gift vouchers from MCN stores! Where do I start? How many WAHM MCN makers do gift vouchers?
Arimeh - the fluffy mail arrived and was passed on immediately, and they were totally stoked!! I hope you're not closing up shop when you head south!
ETA - yeah, we posted at the same time Mel. I forgot about laundry detergents as a factor too, since I hardly ever use it for MCN, and do a hot wash every couple of washes.
-
NaNa, just had to say your ticker gave me a bit of a giggle... "my parents call me "no"" It's so true, for all bubba's!
