the title of "gayest baby in the village" was a tie between my DS and Suse's E! I think it was the "gay pride" pot of gold m-a-l cover, the rainbow babylegs and the rainbow striped shirt, plus the amber beads that did it... am I a bad mama?
WOAB: red HH
NaNa, we own the babylegs and the pot of gold and the amber beads, just gotta get the shirt.
Gunna go make some muesli bars
WOLB Purple sewn in itti, hopefully for the nxt 2 hrs while he is sleeping
Hi Girls
Quickie questions - Z is on his very first course of anti-b's for an ear infection :( - is there anything I need to be careful of with the nappies - I expect him to be having quite a few poos over the next couple of days as can happen with anti-b's.
So nice to know I can pop in and ask these questions
Just look out for sorbitol in the ingredients if you're worried about staining. Poor bubba, hope the ear infection clears up quickly!
well we are definetly fully cloth now, and dh has even changed her a few times, I worked today and will be tomorrow. Dh droped me there then took bub, the went and did a few thing he brought her home, down for a sleep and change then brought her over to me for lunch and a bf. He even went visiting his mum with cloth. So proud of him. Picked me up, and came home, no big probs with any thing, he had a great day.
WORB bbh bamboo and pink wool cover, down for the night.
big day in our house nappy wise - i decided i don't want to use flats anymore, bubba should be big enough for some of her small nappies rather than newborn, and we'd check out the OSFM as well. Iish flys - great fit (on the smallest setting), BG's (the same - kinda weird calling nappies BG's though!), GK fit nicely, small Envoy fits nicely - cushies, not yet - leg gape issues... so we're washing and semi-retiring the flats - still a sure fire back up, but we're gonna see about being in MCN's full time rather than just flats overnight and at home for convenience. lots more pretties to show off now! haven't check BBH and BBB but dragged out some bigger HH sherpas and spunkybutts fitteds for over nite use
WOEB - ummmm i think it's the GK but can't be sure - DH did the last nappy change
BG, how much does E weigh? cause I still cant get my GKs to fit lil man and he is 6.5 kg but (I think it was lea who described Gabs like this) he looks like a frog! He has this big round belly and sort of a short flat bum and these little frog legs that even come out at the same angle as kermits. Anyhoo, I am rapidly finding out that narrow crotch, short rise work for us. The gk might be ok folded down in a sort of NB fold but then the tabs wont cross over to stay stuck.
I am sure he will grow into them.
But I am not so sure about my WC bling, I think they may be too long in the rise :(
And the BBB, still fit funny, even on NB, they sort of look like a bamboo sarong, hanging down near his knees :)
AHH to cull or not to cull?,my gut tells me to bugger them all off and go buy 10 pop ins. What should I do?
Help
MLM :  yep i have a frog here too , def what gabs is like lol !!! i can just picture you lil man , kicking his kermit legs around like gabs does !!
SAMIH: wanna add me to FB ? lea johnston . the proflie pic is me with my sis (has balck glasses on ) its in my recent pics ... other wise i'll jump on photo bucket and post a link .... HO i'll do that now
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...nsmama/179.jpg
the nappy was $42.50 , i thought seesh thats exxy but its a one off and a special one , so i didnt mind ... plus $7.70 of exp so it was about $50 .
FIL chaneged a nappy yesterday  gabbi even did a poo for him :) ... he did put a sposie on and when i came back he was worried he didnt put the sposie on right ... so i didnt want to scare him with a cloth
Well i'm back (for a bit)... Been taking a break from BB for a bit but just updated my May baby thread so thought i would pop in...
T is going well with the MCNS still... Its been great to have no NR and the Moo Goo is FAB stuff. DD is getting so big now i'm in almost all Large sized MCNS now So many dont fit or are wrong shape for her now... I have about 20 large MCNs and thats been ok to handle so i dont really need more... So i have a few girly ones for sale if anyone is interested in what i have PM me...
Miss T is VERY keen on the potty and toilet... i'm not pushing but she is always bringing me the potty and she actually does use it... I'm just going with her flow but she really hates to have a wet nap... only 1 wee and she wants it off... Should i look something to help her feel dry or should i try trianing pants??
MLM - we haven't had E weighed for a while now - when she was 8 weeks, she weighed 4.8kg - she's now a bit over 11 weeks - if she gained weight at the same rate as she was she's probably about 5.3kg now. she is reasonable long, stocky up top, slims down heaps at her hips - but she still has a bit of chunk on her thighs. the GK was probably the worst fitting of the ones that fit her yesterday - but it will do as a back up nappy. it didn't have leg gape and fit nice around her tum, but gave her a droopy bum down to her knees! was ok when we first put it on but didn't stay ok lol. i figure it's one that will do her for a while, so it will go in the "no other nappy available, i'll use this" pile. it was given the seal of apoopal (loved this when i read it!) so it can't have been too bad!
spunky buts small fitted was a success last night. we did have a small blow out this morning - but i don't think i've come across anything other than a Maz cover that can contain those morning poops - they are rocket powered!
WOEB - MAL nappy and cover
:redface:I take it back about the WC, they went from zero to hero in the space of 1 day:redface:
MIL and FIL came over for brekky and I knew Lil Man had no poos left (arrgg, sooo gross -got him out of bed, played morning kisses and knee bouncy, and didnt realise he was loaded  ohh, it was nAsty and huge. Thank god it was a sposie, but I recon there wasnt a square inch of that nappy that didnt have poo on it, plus a bit of leg seepage, ICKY.)So I decided to be a show pony and put the bling on. Anyhoo, PERFECT!!
Now I have to revisit the others and see how we go.
My baby has morphed..
BG, I treat my GKs the same as you, cause I know in my heart of hearts that they WANT to be a good nappy, they have everything going for them, they try so hard, just not yet for us.
I cant wait to try a BBB now, I hope they go better, cause I really want them to work for summer for us. (no cover, just dagging around at home but breathable)
BTW, it was evil MIL who was over here and she was busy telling me how I have to take DS to her place later in the week cause all her family have been told about my "wonderful" MCNs, grrr, was singing a different tune 6 months ago:wall:
Oh Oh, meant to say, went to Toys r us for the first time today, I lurve that place... so much to see.....
WOLB Blue pop in
LOL Teagz....My DH has requested a Holden nappy or two aswell (he works for Holden)...If anyone knows where, let me know!! :)
Lea...omg!!! That nappy is so very very gorgeous!!! Wowie!!
AFM...Ive been away from the pc for awhile....DH had a week off work so I had to share lol :( SO Im very much behind. Thinking this year I might try to play along in the Nappy Hunt thingy :) Still going along with the trial and error thing with my MCN....mixing and matching covers with boosters etc. Im really getting used what is working and what isnt, tho I guess I shouldnt get too settled to that cos its bound to change as soon as DS grows a little more lol. Im thinking about making my own boosters for some brands that just arent lasting very long, so Ive finally popped into the nappy making board too...just trying to decide if its worth the fabric cost and effort or if I should just jump in and get a 10 pack of the GK boosters....hmmmmm
WOJB....green Pop In
WO?B- whats on (insert babes inital) bum :)
or WOTB (whats on their bum)
every one asks ... we all started somewhere ! i rememeber asking it too :)
What's On J's Bot... Or What's on His/her Bot.
WOAB: dodgy green BumG. Need to fix the elastic again!
Hi all,
Well it has now been offically a week since we have gone cloth full time. Woo hoo.
WORB green itti bitti
yay sweet pea ! its addictive hey :)
wogb- no idea - mum is looking after them ... prolly a badly put on itti or something
Congrats on full time cloth Sweatpea! And BG - out of the flats - another milestone!!
Well I'm very proud of us . . we just went to our 3 day annual convention at Acer Arena for church, and we did it all in cloth (Although, that did mean kneeling on the toilet cubicles floors whilst changing DD it was well worth it. Not a leak, not a problem, not a cent wasted on a pack of sposies.
WOEB: Terry Fitted and BBH Cover (which DH forgot at first but caught it before any dampness)
argh! back to nappies not lasting long - how could i forget the lack of absorbancy first few wears?? feeling a tad bit ummmm, daft today! DD has graduated from NB to small in the HH sherpas - still plenty of room to move around her in the nb, but not in the rise. anyhoot - she woke this morning, filled her nappy as is her morning ritual - and mummy put on a nice new sherpa nappy with maz cover. she had another feed and back to sleep and we came out to get brekki. not 10 mins later she was having a big whinge so DH went to get her - and given that she doesn't wee much overnight, her first morning wee is HUGE - and soaked through the nappy, leaked out the cover, through her clothes, her wrap, and our bedding!! will teach me to let her sleep in our bed in the morning i guess...
on the upside, i'd been lazy this weekend and hadn't changed the sheets - figured they could wait... i now have nice clean bedding again lol
WOEB - yellow itti, soon to be something else entirely - depends on what my hand finds when it dives into the stash lol
sigh - best go get the washing out of the dryer and hang it all up... just wish the poppet would sleep while i do it
mlm - laa was like that too with WC! they were ok one day then awful the next - so I sold them once we found great side snappers!
bg - laa only fit into NB for 2 weeks or so, I put them away a few weeks ago and i cant wait to use them again. I want to try next year, DH is thinking not yet.... ahhhh we'll see
I am waiting on some special fluff, I hope it gets here soon, i get so stressed. I think one of the wraps I bought has gone completely missing in the post :(
anyone see those beetlebum night nappies on B4B? I put my bid in but not enough to nab them, that lady beetle was sooooooooooooooooooooooo freaking gorgeous but missed out on that too
wohb - sugarshot! baby pink pocket
Hello everyone.
Nothing to report here, well except that my wedding is f*cked f*cked f*cked.
That's all from me.
Thanks
AGHH! I think I have a toxic poo-er (as opposed to a toxic wee-er). We got the nappy rash cleared up with anti-b's and I have been using a mix of cloth and sposies since it's cleared (thanks for the ideas on how to prevent NR returning) and it's back! Mostly around the poop hole and I've been using moogoo most changes and changing frequently but agghhhh it's back and starting to look a bit nasty again. I've re-washed nappies today so they haven't been near any detergent (2 washes through machine without detergent) so hoping that fixes it a little bit. (been using the ecobubs, cute tushies, spunky butts which had only been washed in water today). Haven't changed the wipes over to cloth and water yet (still a few to go in the pack & DH probably won't use them(cloths) as wipes - still working on the idea of not using disposables when we go out or overnight.) We also did about 10 min of nappy-free time this afternoon after wetting yet another nappy (about 3) in the space of 2hours. Have ordered some silk liners to use with the GKs that I've got to see if that helps (not 100% sure the order was paid for properly - the website didn't send me a paid receipt yet - have emailed them to check)
Poor boy is not a happy chappy this evening, constant feeding and crying and not sleeping (think he's overtired as well)
Leckert, is Blake an obvious pooper? e.g enough noises to make you aware of when he is pooping? You're prolly doing it already, but i'd be changing him IMMED he poops.
At one stage as a newborn, bilby had irritation around the anus too and it turned out to be i was drinking too much fruit juice, she was getting it through my breastmilk, and then when it exited her body, it left her with a sore bottom. Up til then, i had no clue, that me drinking something i regarded as healthy (i had CRAVINGS for oj at the time), could cause her physical distress.
ANother time, i was drinking way too much coffee, adn that caused her problems too. (i was so stressed out at the time, i felt i NEEDED that amount of coffee just to keep going - bilby was not sleeping much and i was so scared of going to sleep when she needed me, when she and i were alone most of the time).
So, i'm raising the idea of what you're eating, that might possibly be affecting Blake's system.
Cloth wipes and water would be good. The propylene glycol in most disposable wipes could be irritating Blake's skin.
Sometimes bubs have an adverse reaction to teh STAY DRY fabrics e.g the microfleece and suedecloth many pocket and all in one nappies are lined with. That happened to us at the 14 month mark, i changed over most of our stash to natural fibre inners, and the synthetic inner nappies i just COULDN"T part with, i lay in a separate liner made from two layers of cotton velour. Cheap solution that worked.
i ahven't read the last few pages, but i'm guessing someone would have already suggested the mild wash detergent, and to use very little of it, angle.
good luck working it out Leckert. SOrry if i'm repeating stuff you already have tried/have been told/already know - i don't know what you know already, so just threw in what came to mind, as i read your post.
Leckert. hun, I sounds to me that it may be his poop, especially if it is starting at the exit point. I would have thought if it was the cloth then it would start on his little cheeks. Does he do runny ones that go everywhere or little "logs" (or in this house, when the dog does them - cigars )
I dont know if your BF or formula, but around this age, Lil Man went from perfectly fine on the regular formula he was on, to being really, really smelly and windy and evil green foamy poos (consistency of moisturiser- a sign of lactose intolerance)
We change his formula and he was apples. The point is, BF or formula, it seem that feeding drama seem to pop up around the month mark. Dont ask why tho :dunno:
CM :( :goodluck: I hope you fell better soon.
Gigi :comfort: one day Bilby is just gunna:jawdrop: you with her chatter, sometimes it just takes a little longer. xx
:hello: honey's :)
MIss me ...NAH~!!!!!!!!!
I put myself on a BB ban so I could get stuff done......was hard but I needed to do it...sort of prepping myself for next month when it will be 2 weeks :(
now im going back to read what everyone has been up to
WOMB - Mushroom embroided GF..and one of the only front snappers we have left
I missed you Maz!
Leckert - it's a scary idea, but it could possibly be something in your diet if you're BF. It might only be a temporary problem tho, so it's not the end of the world, but it might mean taking a look at what you're eating or drinking, or if you're taking any medications, at least until bub's gut flora is better established. I know how hard it is, since I'm going thru an elimination diet myself, for DS's sake, as he's still BF (and being a BFing vegetarian, spice-addicted chef, that's a bit tough on me!). And definitely try avoiding the sposie wipes for a bit! I think I used cotton wool and warm water for DS until around 8 weeks or more. I still use a pop-top thermos of warm water and a little bowl for the cloth wipes now. I hope that helps somehow...
OK, I have to go shovel up the remains of our poor dead burnt car and go to playgroup... thank the fluffy goddesses I didn't leave the nappy bag in the car on Sunday!!
WOAB: Swaddlebees AIO. Fire-engine red, appropriately.
 To you too, NaNa.
I read about your poor car.
How very scary, and such bad timing for you.
I really hope it all works out for you.xx
PS what does really runny, mucous-ey poo mean,? full mustard colored, snotty, watery poo:sick:
Vacination related maybe???
awww CM - I hope your wedding isnt really f*cked :(
YAY ! I got some possum pouches capri pants with a skirty over the top , sooo cute .. BUT surpirse surprise , even with providing the measurement and having her knit it a small sz 1 - its too big :(
like waaay too big ... i thought about felting it but im chicken ... pics of them on my FB !
sigh ... well on the birght side they should fit her for 2 summers at least !
woGb - a pink butterfly fleece GF .. one of my most flogged nappies :)
Well we have been cloth for over a week now, all going good. Last night I used a BBh magical for her night nappy as the bbb were still wet and it work, better than i thought and actually better then the bbb. I pust to bosters in it, so now thinking need to make a few boosters to use with them. Durring the day she wheres itti bitti's.
WORB midnight itti bitti. (sleeping)
sweet pea , i use the minky magic alls at night , every night with out fail , i just use the booster that it comes with and a bbh night booster :) great hey !!!
am getting more ittis and bbh minky this week !!!! squeeeeeee i nearly have every coulor bbh minky !! how sad !
Nana - I still cant believe that happened to you hon :( why do people do such horrible things!!!!!
I hope your alright and not to stressed
Leah - I had every colour IB :( now none...breaks my heart ot know M is to big now.
We only have 2 front snapping nappies now...an AG and a GF. the AG isnt going to last for ever....its on the last snaps already but the GF is still good.
Loving our SS now. I do think we have enough..... but there is always roomf or one more spesh one :D which reminds me...I have to make some tri-folds for our eco wool pockets...I cant use the microfleece boosters in them.
Does anyone else use SS bubblebubs and what do you guys think of them???
womb - Cowboy auriel
maz - the bubblebubs, the only reason i didnt like the bubble bubs is because the snaps arent hidden - and i hate seeing snap marks on little miss, otherwise they are great. You really need to get yourself some sugarshots woman!
speaking of which i am hoping some arrive very soon!
leckert, you poor thing - we went through that too. eliminated foods, got rid of the dsposable wipes (even though we only used the natural ones it still made a diff) and lined everything with natural inners. It does clear up hun, you just have to slowly re introduce each thing (including the foods you are eating). Could even be cheese in YOUR diet. Its so hard but basically you need to go back to minimal basics really.
CM - what on earth is wrong hun? what happened?
sweatpee = congrats on being in fluff full time, its really not a biggie once you get used to it is it?
WOHB - beetlebum inside out "clouds"
heys ladies,
sorry haven't been n here a while, work's been busy as.
still trying to get Trev to use cloth - but sposies are coming out of his pocket!
MLM - that sounds gross. It's just my opinion but I'd say it's vaccination-related. If he's otherwise healthy anyway. If it doesn't clear up soon, get him checked out maybe.
Maz - I'm ok about the car. I don't really care so much about the silly thing, since I don't even drive. It's more the fact that someone randomly set fire to it so close to my house where my family was sleeping, and our neighbours too. The potential for tragedy was WAY too close to home. Like, inches... And also the incredible environmental impact of a burning car... it's too horrible. The black, toxic smoke that was all over the place, and the bits of concrete from our driveway that have chipped and blasted all down the street... and talk about reducing your carbon footprint - there's a trail of black footprints all around our house now because there's burnt stuff an inch thick everywhere. Nappies will be getting dried indoors until I can get rid of all the soot!! I have a cold too, so I'm blowing sooty boogers all day from being out there trying to clean it up. I don't know when I'm going to be able to sleep "properly" again (don't get much of that anyway!). Last night was terrible, a cat kept running past and setting off our sensor light, and I just couldn't close my eyes. I'll get over it, tho. But it's definitely enough to make me consider moving. Even back to Queensland, and I never thought I'd say that!
To make this nappy related somehow, I need to finish strip-washing all DS's night nappies. The stench-factory seems to have abated a bit, but the nappies are whiffy still. Might have to go borrow some sunshine at a friend's place to dry them outside!
sweetpea - congratulations! they're an encouraging bunch around here, aren't they? dangerously so... ;)
 sugar shots you say....were does one gain one of those????
Kaz hon - you'll turn him round...specially when you fall pg at christmas :D
Nana - friggen exhasting hon and stressful :(.....I hope that the bastards hurt themselves doing it. Is the smell right through the house? Is your house a rental or do you own hon? I jsut cant shake it now either :(. We use to have people jump our fence when we first moved in here and shot up in our front yard and leave their disgusting needles everywere.......until we pulled the old hedge out and the fence...and put up a 6 foot high one that couldnt be jumped over. Now that scum has gone due to commision selling up all their homes thank god. honey
yeah, karma (and a good dose of witchcraft) is brewing right now. We're renting. It sux. Fortunately the smell has cleared since the wind is blowing thru the other way. But there's burnt Melways pages scattered for about three blocks now!! DP wants to go back to Africa now. That's a tad extreme for my liking...
Kaz - I smell more boys germs coming your way soon! ;)
WOAB: sandman, bear bottoms pull-up fleece cover
