AGHH! I think I have a toxic poo-er (as opposed to a toxic wee-er). We got the nappy rash cleared up with anti-b's and I have been using a mix of cloth and sposies since it's cleared (thanks for the ideas on how to prevent NR returning) and it's back! Mostly around the poop hole and I've been using moogoo most changes and changing frequently but agghhhh it's back and starting to look a bit nasty again. I've re-washed nappies today so they haven't been near any detergent (2 washes through machine without detergent) so hoping that fixes it a little bit. (been using the ecobubs, cute tushies, spunky butts which had only been washed in water today). Haven't changed the wipes over to cloth and water yet (still a few to go in the pack & DH probably won't use them(cloths) as wipes - still working on the idea of not using disposables when we go out or overnight.) We also did about 10 min of nappy-free time this afternoon after wetting yet another nappy (about 3) in the space of 2hours. Have ordered some silk liners to use with the GKs that I've got to see if that helps (not 100% sure the order was paid for properly - the website didn't send me a paid receipt yet - have emailed them to check)
Poor boy is not a happy chappy this evening, constant feeding and crying and not sleeping (think he's overtired as well)

Leckert, is Blake an obvious pooper? e.g enough noises to make you aware of when he is pooping? You're prolly doing it already, but i'd be changing him IMMED he poops.
At one stage as a newborn, bilby had irritation around the anus too and it turned out to be i was drinking too much fruit juice, she was getting it through my breastmilk, and then when it exited her body, it left her with a sore bottom. Up til then, i had no clue, that me drinking something i regarded as healthy (i had CRAVINGS for oj at the time), could cause her physical distress.
ANother time, i was drinking way too much coffee, adn that caused her problems too. (i was so stressed out at the time, i felt i NEEDED that amount of coffee just to keep going - bilby was not sleeping much and i was so scared of going to sleep when she needed me, when she and i were alone most of the time).
So, i'm raising the idea of what you're eating, that might possibly be affecting Blake's system.
Cloth wipes and water would be good. The propylene glycol in most disposable wipes could be irritating Blake's skin.
Sometimes bubs have an adverse reaction to teh STAY DRY fabrics e.g the microfleece and suedecloth many pocket and all in one nappies are lined with. That happened to us at the 14 month mark, i changed over most of our stash to natural fibre inners, and the synthetic inner nappies i just COULDN"T part with, i lay in a separate liner made from two layers of cotton velour. Cheap solution that worked.
i ahven't read the last few pages, but i'm guessing someone would have already suggested the mild wash detergent, and to use very little of it, angle.
good luck working it out Leckert. SOrry if i'm repeating stuff you already have tried/have been told/already know - i don't know what you know already, so just threw in what came to mind, as i read your post.
Leckert. hun, I sounds to me that it may be his poop, especially if it is starting at the exit point. I would have thought if it was the cloth then it would start on his little cheeks. Does he do runny ones that go everywhere or little "logs" (or in this house, when the dog does them - cigars )
I dont know if your BF or formula, but around this age, Lil Man went from perfectly fine on the regular formula he was on, to being really, really smelly and windy and evil green foamy poos (consistency of moisturiser- a sign of lactose intolerance)
We change his formula and he was apples. The point is, BF or formula, it seem that feeding drama seem to pop up around the month mark. Dont ask why tho
CM I hope you fell better soon.
Gigi one day Bilby is just gunna you with her chatter, sometimes it just takes a little longer. xx
I put myself on a BB ban so I could get stuff done......was hard but I needed to do it...sort of prepping myself for next month when it will be 2 weeks
now im going back to read what everyone has been up to
WOMB - Mushroom embroided GF..and one of the only front snappers we have left
Leckert - it's a scary idea, but it could possibly be something in your diet if you're BF. It might only be a temporary problem tho, so it's not the end of the world, but it might mean taking a look at what you're eating or drinking, or if you're taking any medications, at least until bub's gut flora is better established. I know how hard it is, since I'm going thru an elimination diet myself, for DS's sake, as he's still BF (and being a BFing vegetarian, spice-addicted chef, that's a bit tough on me!). And definitely try avoiding the sposie wipes for a bit! I think I used cotton wool and warm water for DS until around 8 weeks or more. I still use a pop-top thermos of warm water and a little bowl for the cloth wipes now. I hope that helps somehow...
OK, I have to go shovel up the remains of our poor dead burnt car and go to playgroup... thank the fluffy goddesses I didn't leave the nappy bag in the car on Sunday!!
YAY ! I got some possum pouches capri pants with a skirty over the top , sooo cute .. BUT surpirse surprise , even with providing the measurement and having her knit it a small sz 1 - its too big
like waaay too big ... i thought about felting it but im chicken ... pics of them on my FB !
sigh ... well on the birght side they should fit her for 2 summers at least !

Last night I used a BBh magical for her night nappy as the bbb were still wet and it work, better than i thought and actually better then the bbb. I pust to bosters in it, so now thinking need to make a few boosters to use with them. Durring the day she wheres itti bitti's.

Nana - I still cant believe that happened to you hon why do people do such horrible things!!!!!
I hope your alright and not to stressed
Leah - I had every colour IB now none...breaks my heart ot know M is to big now.
We only have 2 front snapping nappies now...an AG and a GF. the AG isnt going to last for ever....its on the last snaps already but the GF is still good.
Loving our SS now. I do think we have enough..... but there is always roomf or one more spesh one which reminds me...I have to make some tri-folds for our eco wool pockets...I cant use the microfleece boosters in them.
Does anyone else use SS bubblebubs and what do you guys think of them???
maz - the bubblebubs, the only reason i didnt like the bubble bubs is because the snaps arent hidden - and i hate seeing snap marks on little miss, otherwise they are great. You really need to get yourself some sugarshots woman!
speaking of which i am hoping some arrive very soon!
leckert, you poor thing - we went through that too. eliminated foods, got rid of the dsposable wipes (even though we only used the natural ones it still made a diff) and lined everything with natural inners. It does clear up hun, you just have to slowly re introduce each thing (including the foods you are eating). Could even be cheese in YOUR diet. Its so hard but basically you need to go back to minimal basics really.
CM - what on earth is wrong hun? what happened?
sweatpee = congrats on being in fluff full time, its really not a biggie once you get used to it is it?
MLM - that sounds gross. It's just my opinion but I'd say it's vaccination-related. If he's otherwise healthy anyway. If it doesn't clear up soon, get him checked out maybe.
Maz - I'm ok about the car. I don't really care so much about the silly thing, since I don't even drive. It's more the fact that someone randomly set fire to it so close to my house where my family was sleeping, and our neighbours too. The potential for tragedy was WAY too close to home. Like, inches... And also the incredible environmental impact of a burning car... it's too horrible. The black, toxic smoke that was all over the place, and the bits of concrete from our driveway that have chipped and blasted all down the street... and talk about reducing your carbon footprint - there's a trail of black footprints all around our house now because there's burnt stuff an inch thick everywhere. Nappies will be getting dried indoors until I can get rid of all the soot!! I have a cold too, so I'm blowing sooty boogers all day from being out there trying to clean it up. I don't know when I'm going to be able to sleep "properly" again (don't get much of that anyway!). Last night was terrible, a cat kept running past and setting off our sensor light, and I just couldn't close my eyes. I'll get over it, tho. But it's definitely enough to make me consider moving. Even back to Queensland, and I never thought I'd say that!
To make this nappy related somehow, I need to finish strip-washing all DS's night nappies. The stench-factory seems to have abated a bit, but the nappies are whiffy still. Might have to go borrow some sunshine at a friend's place to dry them outside!
sweetpea - congratulations! they're an encouraging bunch around here, aren't they? dangerously so...
sugar shots you say....were does one gain one of those????
Kaz hon - you'll turn him round...specially when you fall pg at christmas
Nana - friggen exhasting hon and stressful .....I hope that the bastards hurt themselves doing it. Is the smell right through the house? Is your house a rental or do you own hon? I jsut cant shake it now either . We use to have people jump our fence when we first moved in here and shot up in our front yard and leave their disgusting needles everywere.......until we pulled the old hedge out and the fence...and put up a 6 foot high one that couldnt be jumped over. Now that scum has gone due to commision selling up all their homes thank god. honey

yeah, karma (and a good dose of witchcraft) is brewing right now. We're renting. It sux. Fortunately the smell has cleared since the wind is blowing thru the other way. But there's burnt Melways pages scattered for about three blocks now!! DP wants to go back to Africa now. That's a tad extreme for my liking...
Kaz - I smell more boys germs coming your way soon!
WOAB: sandman, bear bottoms pull-up fleece cover
