Not sure what is going on with Jeremy and AIO's
I put Magicalls on him today when we were out and they held his poo just fine but we had major wee leaks twice!
Any ideas???
Should I give up on AIO's????

It is REALLY quiet in here - where did everyone go???
I have decided to sell all my AIO's and pockets and just stick with fitteds and covers since I'm having so much trouble with leaks and such.

lilprecious - have you tried side snap aio's? o a double gusset cover?

hey girls. How are you all? I haven't been around a lot... actually pretty much at all. SO much drama here. Mum found out she has cancer after she had a part hysterectomy. Jamie and I were on the rocks big time but things have settled... all I can say about that is Champix is evil!
Ashton is still in cloth nappies though we have decided to use sposies at night atm as we don't have enough NN that fit. Waiting for our nappies that we lent Leash to get returned and we should be ok. Magicalls and GF are pretty much the only ones we can use atm. He is so chubby! He is exactly 15kg at 15 months!!
Bubba is due in June so going to have some fun getting newborn nappies again, waiting till after Christmas as Im so broke atm.
Hi All,
I have noticed that the elastic is going on two of my Bummis Whisper Soft covers that I bought when James was about a year old (so they are at least 3 years old and I suspect I bought them used)!
Is it worth replacing the elastic in them and continuing to use them? The PUL seems to still have lots of life in it.
If they are worth fixing up does anyone in here want them? I don't sew? If someone is willing to pay the postage I would be happy to post them out to you.
Let me know - otherwise they are going in the box that will head to St Vinnies when it is full!
In other news - Jeremy rolled from his back to his tummy today!! There will be no stopping him now. That might actually explain why he woke up SEVEN times last night!!
WOHB: a zoo animals AIO - I have found I can use SOME of my AIO's for short periods!
remember me ???
for those who are wanting NB fluff :shh: a little birdy has told me a certian nappy brand will be discontinuning NB size , so a bargian to be had me think ;)
as for us , welllll i have had DD in sposies overnight as her NR was bleeding and blisterd and the only thing was a sposie and heaps of paw paw and emu oil , i could slather it on and not worry about my nappies , but finaaly the major rash is gone and ive stripeed washed all my nappies about 3 times , and now hopefully wont giver her rash again , if so , then i guess she has developed a sensitvity to sinthetic :(
luckily i have my BBH fitteds to fall back on even tho its a pita to fold the front down on to infant size as dd wont lie still long enough for me to get it ready so she walks around with it hanging between her knees . ive come to love flushable liners and they go in every nappy change now .
MM : wow 15kgs at 15mths !! strapping young lad there ! Gabbi is 9.1 at 16mth  shes lost a bit (600gms ) in the past week as her diet has changed , as she now has an intolerance to yeast , and soy and allergic to apricot (i knew that already ) and kiwi fruit ,so now its on to rice milk and the simplest of diets , hopefully we can all eat what she is and benefit (ie no crap food .... ) i will wait till after xmas
havent been on her much at all , im just enjoying the free time i have with the kids and DH ... i suspect i will become quieter on line as the month rolls on !! busy busy ..
oh and im having withdrawals .... whats new/cool/for sale /2nd hand that i can nab ?! :P
Hi ladies, mind if I join you?
I've had DS2 in cloth during the day and sposies at night, but I want to stop the sposies. But we co-sleep & I haven't been changing him everytime he wakes if he hasn't pooed - what can I use? He's over 4.5kg now and I expect him to be a chubby baby like his brother (and me & all my cousins). I've got one BBH Bamboo and a Cute Tooshies Hemp.
Is a wide crotch better with chubby bubs? And sidesnappers?
ETA: thought of another question - I bought a Green Kids Xmas pocket - can I use it as a cover (to get maximum time useage on Xmas day)? Thanks
WOIB: Zappy with BBH cover
hey snowylove !
If would say a broader bub can wear a wider crotch , but if they have a short rise and a narrow privates than i would go for narrow crocth no matter the size .
BBH is good for night , i just use a minky magicall and a extra night booster for dd at night and DS who is 3 wears a multifit BBH with a night booster jic .
if the GK xmas pocket fits properly over a fitted nappy than go for it:)
SNOWY - welcome petal !
i had a skinny nb, then from 4 - 11 months she had the chubbiest thighs. So i kept thinking "surely chubby legs will need a wide crotch nappy". but all our wide crotch brands gave her "camel toe" and fitted terribly.
Despite her chubba bubba thighs, she STILL had a narrow crotch width, and it was the narrow crotch nappies that fitted her well.
Then crawling kicked in at 11 months, the rolls dropped off and STILL, the narrow crotch nappies suited her the best, even with slim legs.
I tried to fight it the first year, kept trying and being frustrated wehn the wide crtoch styles wouldn't fit her right. By the time she was one, i had succumbed to the idea that i would have to sell teh wide crotch ones, and hunt down the narrow crotch ones.
So - that's a long way of telling you,
Ya Cannae Go by the size of their chubby wee legs alone!
i nearly forgot, you actually asked about side snappers too.
i personally think that side snappers are great for the chubbas and the skinny ones, as they are more adjustable IMO. SS fitted my child at ALL her body shapes so well.
the RISE of the nappy has an influence too. Good to know YOUR child's rise, compare it to the rise of the product you're considering buying.
e.g itti bitti is an example of a low rise nappy
i had a SHORT baby, with a LONG rise.
(for ages i assumed she would have a low rise, cos she was so darn short)
so you can't just go on their height.
my shortie had short legs and long torso, so mid - high rise nappies suited her best. I ONLY got her higher rise night time mcn, excellent for containment. never had to wash ANY bed linen due to night nappy leaks in 27 months of mcn use - brilliant. i am so impressed (laundry is not my fave thing).
each child is different, stuff that worked brilliant on one child, may not work brilliant on another child. it's more than the weight, more than the closure, more than the crotch width, more that the rise, it's the combo of all those things, on ONE particular child.
i don't believe ANY nappy is perfect fit on 100% of all nappy wearing age children. Some tt early, some tt late, so the OSFA thing can be very variable too.
LEA - you want 2nd hand natural inner fitteds? email me if interested. bilby had the same issue - reacting to synthetic fibre inners (at 14 months onwards).
and why did you think you'd been forgotten? as if we would forget you Petal ! LOL.
LIL PRECIOUS - anyone who has FOE (foldover elastic) and knows how to sew it in, could fix those covers, it's more a matter of the unpicking of current shot FOE. I know someone who replaced the FOE in some covers, it can be done, if you know how to sew with FOE, have the time to do it.
the person that i know that did it, she used that as a way to practise, as she wanted to make her own covers from scratch. so learning how to repair ready made ones (with shot elastic) gave her an opportunity to practise the skill BEFORE she attempted to do it on her brand new groovy PUL cover creations.
for non-sewers, the covers may be of use, to people with bubs in the UPPER WEIGHT RANGE of that size cover. or people who use flats (bulky nappies).
Fluffy mail! Unexpected fluffy mail!!!! :leap:
Our custom widdlewuns arrived today. I knew they wouldn't be too far away but I though with all the Australia Post strikes that they wouldn't make it before xmas! But what a lovely xmas pressie I was sooo hoping to put them under the tree for DS. And they're just divine too. So nicely made, and the designs turned out even cooler than I hoped.

Hi All -
It has been SERIOUSLY quiet in here! WOW!!
Jeremy wore his GNST nappy last night and leaked out of it for the first time ever. It is size medium! Is this a sign that he is outgrowing the medium?
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was quiet and nice!
WOHB: BBH bamboo with BBH PUL cover
Hi again
So I put Jeremy in the BBH bamboo last night and he has leaked badly in that as well. Is it possible that at only 5 months of age he can out wee a BBH bamboo???
ARGH - I really was hoping BBH bamboos would work for nights for him - don't really want to go down the expensive road of night nappies for him.
But then, don't want to be washing sheets (his and/or ours) every day either!
Suggestions would be appreciated!!
WOHB: Cheeky Butts and Mother-ease Air Flow
at 5 months DS was the same i boosted it with a BBH bamboo booster and i also folded a flat on the outside inside the cover and i used fleece and wool covers
ACK - new problem...
I forgot about Panadol causing purple stains in the nappies!
Will the stains sun out eventually???
WOHB: WAHM nappy with Bummis PUL cover
ahhhhh the good 'ole panadol stains...lurvly grey/purple colours...hehehehe YES they will EVENTUALLY sun out
Thanks Fluff!
If memory serves Nurophen doesn't cause the stains?
Jeremy is teething something fierce and the Panadol helps him sleep so I'll switch to Nurophen to save the nappies a bit!!
WOHB: super boosted BBH bamboo (both snap in boosters and a pea pod bamboo trifold) this gives us 14 layers of bamboo and thus far is getting us through the night.
lilprecious, nurofen will stain too luffs. :shakehead:
Sorbitol is the badboy that makes the stains.
You want one with no sorbitol, but unfortunatly, I cannae help ye.
We dont gets no panadol stains in this house:leap:
Dont arkse me why, but we dont
Hope ya's all are having a noice festive season.
WOLB Blue Babyhosen. xx

Rhyb hun i have commented on your gorgeous~precious girls :D making me cluck cluck cluck....
So cute Rhyb. You're doing better than me, I'm using sposies for all kids at the moment cos I've packed the nappies away (I HATE MOVING) so bit run off my feet at the moment trying to get a routine with the kids, dealing with lots of milk vomits and trying to pack and clean the house for our move.
But I bet you are wayyyyyyyyy busier than me!!! lol
Rhyb those pics are just ADORABLE. I have no idea how you are finding the time to use cloth, let alone take pics to share - you really are wonder woman! They all look so content too :) CLUCK!!!!!
I managed to score me a beetlebum fitted yesterday - can't wait to try it! (only prob there is that it will probably make me want MORE argh!).
WOHB - she is still asleep so, seeing as all our night nappies made her wriggle and wake like crazy, we have been using sugarshot pockets with a quadfold.
OMG Rhyb...I so cant believe thier in the covers

Rhyb, saw the girls in their fluff....too cute mate. You must be so pleased to have them all home with you.
Well I'm still drooling over my Widdlewuns. They are awesome. No leaks, perfect perfect fit for DS. I am super impressed. Must get more!!!!!
Hi Everyone :hello:
Its been ages since I have been here but I thought I would pop back. We are still in fluff 24/7 which I love and just survived 2 weeks camping in them... They camp site had washing machines so every 2nd day I would toddle there with the washing baskets in the pram (they were too heavy to carry) and then have all my fluff on the clothes rack outside our tent. luckily we didn't have much rain so they dried very quickly.
Rhyb - I saw your photos and they are just tooo cute! Congratulations on having them all home and getting photos on FB.
Lea - I've seen photos of the new BB naps & as soon as I offload some of my stash I'll be getting some to try them out. Let us know how the nn goes :)
Ok, off to sort out our teething bubs, who will be getting a teething necklace soon cause I'm a bit unhappy about the panadol stains in her naps too :(
Hope everyone had a great christmas and a happy and safe ny tonight
WOGB - blue swaddlebees pocket
Bimboo I didnt prep DS at all and hes adjusted beautifully. Have faith in her she might surprise you :)
Yay! my husband installed my little squirt..woohoo!!
OKays questions:
Can someone who has a BBH wetbag please measure the dimensions for me...they are not listed on the site.
Also Gigi if you are lurking, what were those eco friendly, no nasties baby wipes you talked about a while back...I can't remember the name of them now.
baby C will officially be making his exit via the sunroof on feb 12 barring any complications in the meantime so I hope I have everything organised by then...yikes!!
OMG Mel - Feb 12!!! Thats only a month away - eeek!!!! :D
SOooooOOooo exciting !!! :leap: :leap:
hey girlies! Sorry to just randomly pop in and dump a question on you but...
i was wondering for those of you that use disposable/flushable liners, where do you get them from??
bambino mio or enee from BBH :)
i use them every change now , as i was sick of the spray back from the LS
MELBEL: the BBH wet bags are : 30 x45 ish ( mine was filled with booklets, and measured about 31 x 47) they are pretty big !
I get mine from ebay - not sure of the brand though, and they are pretty nice, well as nice as flushable liners get.
melbel - the date is coming up very quickly, how exciting!
oh MelBel how wonderfully exciting!!!
I didn't like the BBH wetbag, I found it gaped too much when trying to get things into it. Planet wise are my ones of choice :)
As for the wipes, you can get NatureCare from the supermarket or Seventh Generation on line. Just a heads up though - even these gave Laa nappy rash in the early days. Switching over the plain cloth wipes was much gentler on her little bum.
Liners - I have NFI what they are, bought a roll of 100 when Laa was born and we are still going strong!
WOHB - SugarShot!
Hi All,
I just washed my nappies last night (admittedly they sat in the nappy bucket a bit longer than usual) and this morning as I've been hanging them outside I've noticed that one BBH hemp has disintegrated around the snaps on the front, and my pea pods bamboo insert has holes in it around the pea pods tag!
The ONLY thing I did differently was I did a 60 degree hot wash because they were a tad on the stinky side from sitting a bit longer.
Jeremy has been taking some panadol and/or nurophen for his teething - the sorbitol/manitol in them doesn't break down the nappies does it?
I'm thoroughly confused and totally peeved at the moment!
GIGI!!! Where are you with your ultimate nappy wisdom???? ;)
WOHB: sposies as we were away for one night over new years and then I had nappy washing to catch up on
Just popping in to say hi all!
Been FLAT OUT as i was visiting family on east coast for 2 months. We got back on the 29th and had to move house >.<
Through ALL the chaos Charlie was only in 2 sposies and only because i forgot to restock nappy bag mid house swap/pack/clean and the long forgotten sposies were sitting in the bottom.
How is everyone on the fluff front? all have good xmas/new year/whatever religious holiday people celebrate?
WOCB: Orange Cushie Tushie Couture that is a lil whiffy from teething pee
Another question for you all - I can't remember which thread it was in and am too slack to go and search for it
How do you stop your nappy buckets from smelling? (and where do you get the stuff to stop it smelling) My buckets are starting to really get on the nose :o
I put a couple of drops of tea tree oil in my buckets - they smell lovely and fresh!
