Hi girlsI just wanted to have a little grissle about the eenee snibbs that I purchased and am now so annoyed that I spent money on them
Gigi I should have listened to you
On a much happier note I LOVE the BBH bamboo foldups and the covers and small petite's I gotGosh I can't believe how small the Petite's are and that my baby will really fit into them! In hind site I guess they are pretty expensive considering they can't possibly fit into them for very long but they are really adorable! I'm also really happy I did order them last week instead of waiting for the nappy hunt cause for one they dont' participate and for 2 I got online to order more covers this morning (cause i only got 2 to see what they were like) and now they aren't on sale anymore 9bummer) But I guess I totally got a bargin last week saving $57
ezymay I tried the nappy hunt last year and it took so long to find the icons on some sties that it just annoyed meThis year I am enjoying having a list of online baby stores cause I'm interested in buying stuff especially nappies! So I think the list is useful for me in that way and if I come across the icons that great, so far I've only found 6.
I have a ? about wipes. Do you use them dry or do you wet them with water & witchhazel or some other solution, ring them out and then keep them in a container? sorry if that sounds really dumb but I just have not idea?

Oh bimboo I'll def be praying and thinking of you. Fly free angel
I'll have a candle burning for your little angel Bimboo. My thoughts are with you and your family hun![]()
Hopefully there is someone on here who can direct me to a type of MCN information sheet to give to DS childcare. They just don't get it so I think I need to provide them with written info so they can understand why, and how and all the dos and don'ts!!
Thanks everyone! I don't come on here very often because the conversation moves too fast and I can never keep up, but it is always nice to know it is here when I need it!
Thanks!
Hi ladies
I have been watching this thread for about 3 months now.. thanks to everyone as you've all given me alot of advice. Im a bit pre occupied with the nappy hunt at the moment, no bub yet, but I am certainly addicted.
My stash so far is:
34- NB - 15kg fitted's
5- NB covers
10- 5-10kg covers
6- 10-20kg covers
12- 8-20kg fitted's
18- AI2 OSFM
And today I managed to make 2 fitted AIO's, I bought some fleece and terry and flannel to make some breast pads and I bought too much so I thought I'd have a go. they look like they'll work but not sure what size they are, meant to be newborn but are waaaay too big.
I have no idea how many I'll need, but I love buying them. Can anybody suggest I get anything else? And hi! I might post from now on as I dont think my cloth addiction is going away any time soon!![]()
mummy tummy.. Oz cloth nappies have a very thourough FAQ section and all the info you'd ever need. You could probably cut and paste most of the info you need for the childcare place.
cherished - Wet, definately wet. In summer I just keep one of those spray bottles on the change table and spray the wipe with that first, in winter I run the wipe under warm water first. My bub is pretty easily irritated by chemicals so just water here
Bimboo - I've been thinking of you and your little girl today.
Poopie - Dude - you already have more than me and I'm gonna do 2 with mine
Maz - I got some oh so lovely little covers in the mail and they are so small and cute thanks lovely, I've put a fitted and a cover on one of DD's teddy's that's how tiny which she just thinks is hilarious so think it will stay put till #2 arrives.
Side Point: Every time I say expecting #2 I think of the toilet lingo, hmmmm.
Mini La-La's, DROOOOL! I am resisting, I am strong.
cherished, I wet a whole bunch of face cloths. You know those huggies wipes containers, the big ones? I wet them, ring them out and put them in thoseWet wipes on hand all the time. Re: the petites, I got a medium and it fits Ashton!! Sure he is on the last snap, but it FIT! (was brought for bub in tum) I have a layby on with 2 smalls, 2 mediums and 2 larges and I can't wait to get it off. The larges will fit him great and they are so trim
Bimboo, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this tough time
Well girls I am back. It's been a very stressful time for me the last 6 months, so I haven't been on here much, and I haven't since I think december! But I am backAshton is sort of toilet training, he uses the potty at home most of the time. I am in no rush though, as when he says "YUCKY MUMMY YUCKEEEEEEE" I usually have about 30 seconds MAX to get him to a toilet... and there is no way I am waddling my way over to a toilet that fast if we are out!
Levi has a nice stash coming along! I am almost completely done for him nappy wise. He will have Ashtons m/l nappies and I've brought all the nb and small nappies I need now![]()
Does anyone do a canestein rinse? Where do you get it? How do you do it? Ashton has 'nappy rash' which wont clear up. It's like little sores on his bum. The doctor gave us AB but it hasn't worked, only changing him into sposies with sudocream has helped but I don't want to keep buying them. As soon as I put him back in the nappies he gets the spots again. I am thinking maybe it is fungus or something??
lol sas #2
boring here at the moment i only have 4 fitteds and one nappy for this baby but im buying a massive stash off maz coz i have all the medium stuff and i only started having issues with changing jamie since 6 months so i think prefolds would be ok seeings as jamie lasts 2 hours in cotton prefolds now
WOJB: GNST with OOAK large ABC tv maz cover
I've never done a rinse, but do you use natural or man made inners in your nappies? Maybe he is sensitive to one type? I have also heard really good things about silk liners which help with the healing. DD2 had a nappy rash that nothing got rid of til I changed my diet, and it cleared up, that was when she was younger though. Is there anything he is eating that could be causing it?
As for us, I got my first GF's the other day and OMG I love them! so cute and such a good fit on DD2I just realised that a whole heap that I made for DD2 are now too small and I am either going to make a bunch more (in what time I have no idea) or go on a shopping spree (baby expo is here next weekend...) oh the decisions
DH will probably forgive me if I spend up since I am being a single mum this week while he is crewing a fringe show.
WOGB - GF nightit lasts the night, she is such a super wee'er
Ryatha I have tried everything. It can't be food related or it wouldn't clear up when he is in disposables. I have tried strip washing, using liners, only using bamboo velour inners, washing without powder, washing with powder, using the drier, not using the drier. He's had the rash for over a month now, probably closer to 2 months. Both times I have changed him to disposables it has gone straight away.
He's always been sensitive to washing powders and synthetic inners, this is different. It is sores and some are open.
ryatha - i went to the baby showhere in melbourne. Got tickets for free from edison chopsticks, im a bit of a cheap skate. They had a few good deals, but not as good as I thought it'd beBut I guess there are no postage costs involved.
What kind of pattern do you use to make your nappies? I used one from ottobre but it'd be good to try another oneAlso, what do you use as a waterproof layer? I used fleece, but I have no idea. I'm not that keen that I'll buy fabric online, just having a play with sewing things atm, dh is on a bucks weekend and I got nothing to do.

Thanks sas & missymooI will look into what wipes to buy, do you have any recommendations on what fabric is best?
I am a big terry toweling fanI have all sorts of 'wipes' from stores, but the good old face washers are what I use the most. They are grippy and perfect sized and they always clean up all the mess using just one.
Missymoo- I was talking to a lady down the shops who's little girl had the same issue. She SWEARS by silk liners. Charlie is teething right now and when a tooth is about to pop she gets a BRIGHT RED bum and little blisters. Going to try the liners so see how I go. Poor little munchkin screams every time she goes in thje bath even if it's just plain water when in that state. 12 nappy changes a da gets exhausting.
Anyone know which dishwashing liquid is best for stripwashing? I read someone used one that rotted her bamboo. Which ones have people had sucess with? Charlie's nappies are getting wet through really fast right now so i'm guessing i need a stripwash.
WOCB: Abby Gro Minky all days in orange. Charlotte adores the abby gro nappies.
