I remember in the early days with DD2 that I was changing her nappy every 1-1.5 hours, so that's about 16 changes. I might look into some prefolds as well.

we were on a similar changing schedule for a few weeks - and nearly every nappy was a dirty one. we had 24 nappies that fit her at the start and were washing everynight (thankfully flannel flats can be turfed in the dryer!!)
i need t stop looking at fb - i keep seeing new nappies that i want to get. when these ww's arrive, that will make 10 new nappies for her... yikes! she's starting to get to the end of being able to wear her iish fly (med's) and maybe her small twinkle lily's... i may need to cull the current collection a bit i think!
WOEB - an iish fly of some sort - even though they have the most pieces to them, they seem to be DH's nappy of choice - go figure!
sorry BG lol
lolololololol
yes but i know what you mean, its terrible having all those pretty nappy shops on FB soooo tempting
WOMB: nothing, time fro a bath lol
Sorry- I'm bit behind to catch up on everything!
For girly nappies I think minilala's are gorgeous.
What NB kissaluvs do you have kitten? Are they the contours?
I have nothing for newborn yet! I remember washing our small stash of OSFM pockets every day last time and making up some short fall with a pair of eenee pants. I'll be getting at least a dozen prefolds this time.
WOEB: Bumgenius
pa ha ha yes sorry - it might sound like lots of washing but if you get prefolds/flats etc they can just go in the dryer as jodi said! It really wasnt that much - DH helped and DD1 helped too![]()
Maz - if you are talking beetlebums you know where to PM me! (as delicious as you make it sound ROFL)
AH you know in my list I actually meant fitteds but you have reminded me that I do have 8 Kissaluv contours.... somewhere! Now I have to find them, they aren't in the nappy box! I got them for a bargain, $30 for the lot
WOHB - teal green sugar shot pocket
lol we only go for about 6-7 nappies a day
WOMB: a kawazukee long haul ( over night )
Anyone not have a dryer? I feel like the only fool who does cloth without a dryer sometimesWe have a drying rack of nappies in front of the heater ALLLL winter!
ME meowmines broken but I very rarely put nappies in there. Mine sit under the heater vent aswell....which reminds me I need to buy another one.
I need a fluffy fix...hook me up people
WOMB - BBH fitted and growl cover
We've never had a dryer- would be handy for the inserts from the pocket nappies sometimes!
I just asked my H if he would mind if this baby had a few different types of nappies that went on different ways such as prefolds & fitteds and he asked "Why can't we just use the ones we have?". Errr... cause our big boy will be using them! Anyway, last time I stuck to just pockets so he could get the method of one way and not get confused and it seems I'll need to do the same with the newborn nappies too. You would think he's a complete idiot but he's really smartAnd he's shocking with sleep deprivation so I'd rather make it as simple as possible.
What to get? Fitteds, prefolds, contour prefolds? I don't think I'll go for pockets or AIOs- too expensive given we already have a huge OSFM stash. Neither of us seem to like snaps either- haven't like them on anything I've tried so I'm thinking not fitteds... though the NB kisssaluv fitteds look SOOO good kitten!! I'm leaning towards the kissaluv contour prefolds at the moment- they look idiot proof![]()
my hubby was the same.
i found as long as i left them set up so all he ahd to do was open put baby in and do up he was fine
so thats why AI2's did well for us. as i set it up and bam just like a sposie.
and very quick to dry as you keep extra boosters and if the booster ins't dry grab a fresh one out of teh draw and pop it on while the other is drying
and i foudn OSF work well for us. as it means hubby knows the nappies and knows which are night adn day etc no issues
lol yeh those first 2 montsh are horrible i felt liek i was constantly changing her bum lol
WOMB: same as before a Kawazukee long haul..
meow - we don't have a dryer. But I live in Cairns, so don't really need one. I mean, it's the beginning of winter and it's sunny with a top of 28 here today! I'm in a denim skirt and singlet right now lol
thanx for reminding us what sumemr is like jodi lol
its 4 degrees here but out house is 24 inside.. mmmm love aircon.
i dont sue the dryer much now i use an airer under the aircon they are dry over night.
WOMB: kawazukee day tripper in chineese ladies
i don't have a dryer. have 2 clothes horses permanently stationed under the reverse-cycle air con (our heater).
below is my newborn stash, most got second hand so i have different types:
nappies
flannel flats- handy, dry quick but not used that often on her bum. good for underneath her for nappy free time and for spit-ups.
maz-a-licious prefolds- good but need to fold down at top as well to fit into small covers
motherease sandy's- needs a cover, good
kissaluvs kissy's-need a cover, good
swaddlebees-with sewn in booster-need a cover,good
not sure what brand but i love them- fluoro colours with trifold sewn in booster, rainbow thread overlocking, front snaps-need a cover, favs (does anyone know which brand they could be? i bought them 2nd hand from someone on BB but can't remember who)
BBH magicalls-good but bulky take longer to dry- will last awhile sizewise
covers-
bambino mio PUL- love them, funky patterns too
motherease PUL xsmall (not so small ok for us but would be too big on a little bub)
squeaky cheeks fleece- DH doesn't like them
BBH PUL- small still too big
maz-a-licious- so cute
haha i think i just underestimated the number of nappies and washes im going to be doing!!!
we have a dryer but dont use it much unless DF's work clothes havnt dried in time or something
meow- i would hav thought the egdes of the velcro would rub and be more likely to come undone (or be undone by a Houdini)? mum was telling me the other day that (back in the days of velco on car seats) i used to be able to undo the velcro straps by the time i was 5 months...
ah jodi im so jealous right now!!!! my uncles in cairns and always remembers to rub in the fact that he only owns 1 jumper! atm its 9degrees here (but i am sitting in front of a nice gas heater with a couple of kitties to keep me warm (puppy decided she was going to go visit with my mum and sister for the weekendyes decided, walked out the front and got in sisters car when normally she wont go near the front door when my sister is leaving in case my sister tries to kidnap her lol)).
so far i have the change table set up so the 1st nappies u see/reach for are the AIO/AI2(all ready to go) and u gotta reach around the side to get to the fitteds and prefolds. i figure thats the easiest way to get DF to actually use them..
WOHB- sweet fa except as jwithj said, amniotic fluid. something much cuter very soon.
I have a basket full of nappies ot hang..sunshine but ice cold wind.....I'll pop them outside in the sun and bring them in under the heart at 4pm.
Jodi - thats it...im coming up...put the dame kettle on woman!!!!!
I swear to god, everytime this boy of mine gets his bumble bee GF on he shiats in itanyones else's child have a favourite poohing nappy???
WOMB - tiger GF
