Bugger! There's always some other fact huh? A friend recommended nurofen over panadol for teething because of the anti-inflammatory! And it does work better. At least he's pretty much done with teething for a couple of years now... I will look into that for next time. Thanks

Can't use anything ibruprofen based because of her reflux. It'd eat into her tummy! My younger sister used to get asthma attacks with nurofen too. I think I might just stick with the panadol and deal with the nappy stains. It's working so don't want to swap it over now. She only has mega issues when more then one are errupting at once i.e 3 or 4 sitting under the gum.

but we are going through it here as well.
very interesting about the neurofen.
DD responds better to neurofen as well.
gave her panadol and her temp didnt budge gave her neurofen 5 hours later and it was down and she was settled in 30 min.
did a canasten wash on my napies that were dirty so see if it helps our rash issue.
and im going to just add lavender into the wash every now and then adn do teh big canestan wash bi monthly

Hey guys, it's actually the sorbitol that stains the nappies, BUT panadol is so much gentler on their little tummies, personally I wouldn't give nurofen to a little one.
Plus, the stains tend to come out rather quickly (after around 3 washes.... or so), I haven't really found it to be an issue.

Yeah, it only lasts about 2 with me because we get heaps of sun here. If a nappy insert is looking a little bleh I leave it out for a couple of days and it comes up great after the next wash.

Dunno why, have used proper and generic panadol and nurofen.

Well, I used some lavender oil in a nappy wash and they smelt lovely! I wont bother again for now as there is no need but I'm glad I'm onto the oils
I've finally got the newborn nappy buying bug! I've decided I want newborn sized velcro fitteds. Hoping to find a bundle second-hand but I'm not sure how many to get. I have at least 1/2 a dozen bumgenius I can set to small to dedicate to the newborn too.

Hoping my Abby Gro customs are in the post because I'm a tad over DD's poo-a-thons causing me to run out of nappies. She's been eating up a storm preparing to walk but it means more poo, more water drinking and more wee.

I have been using lavender oil in all my washes, just for fun. We wash with soap nut powder here, so no fragrance, and it was so nice to have them smelling all beautiful!

I haven't even looked at nappies on ebay for ages. Since they banned used second hand there were so few lisitings when I looked.
I've ordered 3 kissaluvs so far- snaps and not velcro but I love the umbilical cord spot so I'm planning on having a few of these ready for baby's first few nappies at least. Just the idea is making me clucky and excited
Last time my son wore flannel flats for the first 24 hours while at the birth centre then we took him home in a white bumgenius OSFM.

Well I have been bad lol Have bought a few second hand nappies, and some organic BumG OSFM AI2s. Got yellow, green and white, 5 of each
Just FWI for those who like the BumG v3.0 OSFM Pockets - they have now been officially discontinued. I know Nurture Nappies has some very limited pink (blossom and zinnia) left, for only $28 each.
Not sure what will replace them yet but will keep you updated as I find out
Also getting some BumG bamboo sized fitteds to use - never tried them before, but always loved the BumG's.
Trying to be good, especially as we don't know what we are having yet! lol

Hi everyone
Our little miss is now 4 weeks old and I am happy to report we are a cloth nappy family. During the pregnancy I bought some BBH petites and OSFA, thirsties, prefolds and peapods and we are using everything except the OSFA. The prefolds are working really well for us and I love love the BBH petites. I was wondering - with the petites, if I buy the next size up - will the small inserts still fit into them? Or if they don't, do you think I can still use them? We only have 3 BBH shells but 6 inserts and they work fabulously. I guess if they don't fit the next size up I could use them as inserts...........if anyone has any thoughts on this - I'd really appreciate the feedback
Also - with the BBH, they seem VERY tight on her little legs and leave marks. We have had zero leaks but I was just wondering how tight is too tight??

With the BBH you should be able to use the small inserts, the snaps are the same width apart, but they may not be long enough, just check. You do get one insert with the Petite nappy though, so no need to use them really.
Because they are a side snap, you can set them differently - meaning you can have the waist on snap 2, the leg on snap 3, which will give you more fit in the leg, there shouldn't be a big deep red mark on her leg after wearing them, so I would loosen them off a snap and see if it makes a difference. Sometimes you just get to that place where one is too tight and the next is too big, just need to wait it out and see how she grows.

I'm starting to sell off my nb's, it's sooooo hard. DH has said "no" to any more babies, so it's a waste to have them around here, and I've noticed a few of her smalls are becoming too little now, so it won't be long and they'll be added to the list. I guess the upside to this is I can buy more nappies (not that I really need to, she has heaps, but that has never stopped me before).
I'm in the process of buying a couple of nappies for a gf's new bub. I thought it a much nicer pressie then a bunch of clothes, I know when I had Miss M, we were given so many clothes, she didn't get to wear them all.
