for those of you who use a bbh night nappy.. What cover do you use?
I never had a pooplosion with my DD, but I've already had 2 with DS in only 8 weeks. I think it has something to do with hitting the dam wall (ball sack) and therefore it havs to go up and back or out the sides because it can't go forward the same. It's just... wrong! LMAO

Hahaha I asked mum if she wanted to buy P some more BBH Magic-all Multifits yesterday (I put one on him and she thought it was gorgeous) but she almost fell over when I told her how much for one... It's was funny cos DH had the same reaction. Good thing I'd already bought them before I told him
Made some cute flannel flats the other day, only prob is snappis don't work and the cover will hide them... Thinking of investing in some good old nappy pins for when we're just around the house and a cover isn't absolutely necessary
WOHB some fitted nappy (no brand label on it) and a cute cover from BigW with cars/trucks on it...
for our night naps we use maz covers :) we have a couple of personalised ones coz he only uses them at night we have 4 but only use 2 im thinking of selling one of them that isnt personalised
WOMB: raspberry slush monkey CGR love my mum for buying this for him :)
WOSB: flat and maz hands and feet fleece cover
with our bbh nights we use either a disana wool soaker or a swaddlebees wool cover, although hubby forgot to put a soaker on overnight the other night and his clothes were still dry in the morning.
I used wool covers when we used fitteds overnight, my fave is the loveybums :)
managed to score a couple more BB nb/s's so now nappy stash for the squish is perfect!!! come out baby as laa keeps saying
wohb - SS! koi ai2
I managed to get some of the (not made anymore) bbh wool covers.

Hi girls
I'm starting to build a stash, my bubs not due for a while yet, but I wanted to ask halltribe about peapods. I have bought some to start with and am looking to prob get some prefolds/flats and covers for the newborn stage. But just wondering how they were for NB stage?
thanks
Hi ladies! I might join you if that's ok :)
I'm fairly new to using MCN.. I started out with PeaPods but have now advanced to BBH Magicall's and IttiBitti D'Lish which I am loving!! I have just ordered another 10 itties! I am still using sposies overnight at this stage and I'm a bit scared of progressing to nighttime mcn just yet! I do have a few BBH bamboo fitteds that don't fit DS the greatest around his legs (I was going to sell them) but would they be ok to use at night with an appropriate cover?
Also, does anyone else find the slightest poo smell lingers on the nappies straight out of the machine? Using earths choice liquid at the moment.
I am looking forward to learning more about mcn and to getting to know you all :)
Heys Stoked,
I'm just rejoining as I'll have a newborn soon!
I use bicarb for my MCN, or some lux flakes (about half as much as it says) dissolved in hot water with bicarb in the rinse (bicarb will get rid of soap). Poo smell should't be there, do you rinse the nappies before putting them in? Or use a liner?
With night nappies, I initially used BBH with 2 long boosters instead of 1 long 1 short - it bulked it up and made it fit a lot better. If you're after some good side-snappers, try MazNights maybe?
Heya Kaz!
Stoked: What she ^^ said lmao. I used BBHs boosted for night-time with a Maz cover or flongies & they worked fine; were generally soaked in the morning though the cover/clothes/bedding would be dry.
*sigh* Was expecting all sorts of fluffy mail but alas gave been told that the covers that I thought were posted a week ago weren't & the CTs I got on fb have been accidentally sent to TASMNIA!!
Have 2 Issys on their way from a sale but I think they are in WA so they'll be ages too... All that & being overdue makes for a bit of a disappointed/bored Mama!!
They might not be that long QM, I've found that the prepaid post bags only take two days, hence the reason I don't often splurge on express because if they don't post it by 11am it's not next day delivery and would come the day after anyway.
Peapods are not suitable for newborn - they are just too big. I love my prefolds for newborns.
I have a CGR coming that Amy made for me special - can't wait to see it - should be in the post today
WOSB - Angeltears - my fav nappy.
Does anyone use soap nuts for washing their nappies? I just got given some.
Ta
ok i haven't been in here for what seems like FOREVER......over 2 years in cloth here (well not me but DS) :P
i have a gorgeous stockpile for next bubba (starting ivf this month) and i am wanting to get some of the kissaluvs hybrid contours but can't find them readily available at many stockists here in oz online...may look at the US as the dollar is strong...but girls spam me via PM if anyone knows of some available
i didn't think lux flakes were to be used on MCN's as it is a stronger/concentrated 'soap' than detergents and soaps/too much detergent will make that 'barrier'thus causing absorbtion issues??
katones - good luck with the ivf hun. hope first try is successful for you. have you tried the buy and sell mcn group on fb? someone on there might have some for sale or thinking about selling their stash.
i found my pea pods still dont fit very well even now...so they are in my "only if i haven't done the washing" pile but i found that with most of the BBH as well. including the cover i used last night :wall: that for some reason leaked where the velcro is stitched on so everything was soaked this morning....in his bed and ours cos i didnt notice before i put him in bed with us at 3am this morning...
i have some kissaluvs fitteds.... i bought them 2nd hand off the FB page or nappy addicts.... but didnt use them for NB cos the were too wide in the crotch i use them for nights now.
QM- oh no!! tassie!
katones- sending sticky vibes ur way.
WOCB: cute tushie spaceship pattern.
I've actually found bbh bamboos fit p really well, and given how small he is in build it is awesome.... We have soooooo many cheapies we bought in nb size that still don't fit him
Wohb.. Disposable cos daddy did it after getting home from work
thanks everyone for your best wishes :) means alot
shall check the FB group

I'm so glad I decided to pop in to this thread. All you lovely ladies with your massive stashes are making me feel much better about the fact that I might too become a little MCN obsessed once I actually have this bubs! I have to somehow control myself as I have told DH that MCN WILL save us money!
My velcro BBH leaked through too - they only velcro I use now in Nicnaps as Nicky puts PUL into the velcro tabs so no leakage. Velcro is great though in my house because with the velcro nappies my hubby and even my older kids can and will change the nappies!

ok so i washed my new petite 4 times and put it on my son today but within an hour it leaked :(. i was just wondering if there is a special way to put the snap in boosters in with the long tails as i think i must have done it wrong. i really love the look of the nappy but sad it leaked. anyone got any tips?
WOHB - pea pod
No suggestions sorry hun, I bought my petite 2nd hand and had the same issue. Ended up giving up on it.
Teresa, I fold both the long tails in three then sit one on top of the other under where DS's wettest spot would be then fold the top layer over the top ITMS.
Also Kazbah, I have a couple of reusable liners but wasn't using them on that day. The nappy in question STILL smells of poo even after spending all day on the line in the sun. I did use an extra rinse cycle too. I don't much like my washing machine, it never seems to get stains out either! Grrrr! Can anyone suggest any good disposable liners that won't block up our septics?
I bought one petit to try and got sick of it leaking all the time - found something better for us now.

Hi everyone :) Haven't been in for a while but felt like sharing the fluffy love!!! We are still loving using cloth and I am happy to report that when we took DD for her recent needles, we decided to put a disposable on her for the first time in as long as we can remember because at the Dr's they take the nappy straight off to weigh her. I went to get the sposie and came back to put it on her and wondered why I couldn't get it to fit right. DH also had a go and we were laughing at how we didn't even know how to USE sposies because we are so cool with our cloth. Then I realised........the sposie was a newborn size!! It was from the only sposies we ever bought (before DD was born) and she no longer fit into them. Silly Mummy and Daddy.
We use BBH petites without any problems.......we are even able to just change the inserts and reuse the shell over and over. I wonder if they had a bit of a bad batch or if maybe they aren't a good fit?
WOHB: BBH night nappy with night cover.
Haha ky that's funny!
Mr P has been doing water poos so I'm doing a lot of fun rinsing and washing... He'd also been doing a lot more lately which sucks...

Katones I am LOVING the Kissaluvs contours, they are fabulous. The Beetlebums, Swaddlebees NB's and Kissaluvs contours are my faves of all the nappies we have for The Squish. Playing with all the fluff is so lovely!

No TTing for DD yet because she's still too unsettled and missing her grandparents... No fluffy orders/mail either so a tad mopey on that front. I did however get a sewing machine so I might start sewing as a hobby. Maybe I'll be good enough to replace elastic if any go dodgy on me.
WOCB: Um.. No idea, daddy put it on her after the bath.
no leaks from the petite yesterday! woo hoo! so excited. now to get some more. i folded it like the pic showed and it was awesome. :D
WOHB - pea pod
It's a bit sad having only one in cloth again but no complaining about the washing.
