DD has also gone on a poo spree and done 5 in the last couple of days. Must be solids?

I had a win today. My girlfriend is 15 weeks pregnant and I told her I had bought her a cloth nappy because I am giving everyone ONE so that at least they have one nappy that can be reused. She then said that she was pretty interested in using them and her DH piped up and said he didn't care either way!! So she is considering getting her Mum to make some or buying online. So YAY another convert :D

Only 5 in 2 days? :o lol, my DD has been filling her pants ever 1.5 hours. If she's still doing it monday can we swap DD's so I don't hurl everywhere? :lol:

I love when people convert. I said to my sister "even if you only use them at home you save money and waste." She liked the idea so I bought her a half dozen. My younger sister was saying that she's always got some in the nappy bucket so older sis uses them. Older sister's DP refuses though. Not all men can be as gorgeous as my DP :D

girls pleeeeeeeaaaaaseee remind me NEVER to put a velcro do up on izzy again when she goes to bed! she had a great nap this arvo, hollered to get out of bed, went in there thinking to myself wowsers thats a stinker! but no,little miss talented had taken off her poo nappy and decided to paint the cot with its contents, threw the bigger..ahhh...balls of it out onto the carpet and given by the smears on her face....may have eaten some too!!!!
i was gagging cleaningn her and the cot up!

oh no i didnt know that biozet is bad!! it works wonders on DF's gym clothes and work clothes. im off to the stupidmarket tomorrow anyway (out of disposable wipes *sigh*) i must buy something else then... ecostore was it? can u get it at foodland/IGA?
man DS has been peeing a freaking river in this heat, flooded the bed last night despite 3 nappy changes and 3 outfit changes :wall:

I think ecostore is only at woolies. Basically anything with optical brighteners is bad. Even when I run through a radiant load with DP's uniform I run a load of kitchen cloths and tea towels with only sensitive liquid in post wash. I found any heavy duty washing liquid/powder leaves resiue in the tub and DD's bum gets pink.

Skybie~ I really think you'll remind yourself about velcro after that effort. Try some of the overpants if you have to use them maybe?

im so glad DS cant get his nappies off though he has come mighty close now i have to be careful with these GK's coz they are velcro and at the moment its too hot to wear pants or even shorts these days

Angel pants, the more natural the better for washing your nappies :)
I don't use anything else, except DH likes fabric softener on his clothes because it "smells clean" :rollseyes: that stuff is so strong it gives me a high! otherwise ecostore washes everything.

haha! I stopped remembering to buy fabric softener Helle. Did you know vinegar is supposed to be good as a natural softener? You just have to give an extra rinse so the clothes don't smell like a fish and chip shop. You might want to google how much to use though because I can't remember with preggy brain! DP doesn't complain though so it must do a good job. He wears the stiff cotton drill stuff to work and it comes out like cardboard usually unless I put something in to soften.

Angelpants- there is also a eucalyptus powder with no fillers or dyes in too that Bosistos make. Maybe if you can't get your hands on ecostore stuff tomorrow then that could be another option. The powder brought my nappies up really well except the smell of eucalyptus makes me feel ill so I stopped using it.

Getting very excited, have to force myself to stop buying bloody nappies!! Doing the nursery this week and next, so so looking forward to setting up the change table! (Is that sick?? :rofl:) Still have some new nappies to wash too, my clothes line is gonna look so purdy... hehe

I just wanted to add that I checked the load I did in the ecostore powder last night and they have really come up well. The stains from the calm faded a tonne and I know it wasn't sun because DP moved the clothes airer into the laundry as we had guests for a bbq today. I missed a few inserts that somehow didn't make it into the nappy bucket today (and the last load) and they are all marked. I also grabbed all the black marked ones from the nappy tub that were clean and chucked them in a inserts only load which I will pause shortly and soak overnight. Is it possible I'm nesting in the first trimester? I can't stop cleaning even though I feel WRECKED! Maybe it's because finally DD lets me do housework without getting upset that i'm not paying attention to her and playing... She still gets HEAPS of cuddles though. *sigh* I hope she isn't getting too independant in her toddlerhood

Vinegar is an ace fabric softener. I use about 40 mL with some kind of essential oil, and never get the chip shop smell. No good for nappies, although I use it on terry flats and cotton prefolds. DD has grown out of her cotton prefolds now, but they're good for when you need uber-wipes, which I will soon, hopefully....

WONB: Spunky Butts fitted in Latte, ME Rikki Ocean cover. Not very colour coordinated, so unlike me, but it was dark when I changed her.

I use vinegar in every wash, with oils or without & never smell like a chip shop ;)

Will have to get the epsom salts out if it's no good for nappies though (why is that? curious)

Pie spent her first night in cloth the other night with no leaks, thank goodness...until DH got her up in the morning & didn't take her nappy off straightaway :rolleyes: but still, I think it scored a few points with him. I am hoping he is slowly coming around to the idea.
We have used the few that we have, waiting on more...everything works well so far although some fit better than others & I now have to figure out what is what, I am still feeling flummoxed by it all :lol:

Bicarb rocks! I used to put a tablespoon in the pre wash rinse. Never had a pongy nappy unless we missed some errr........ solid matter with the LS

Bicarb is great. I chuck it in the bottom of the nappy bin when it's empty to keep on top of smells, then toss the whole lot in the wash.
But it's only wee smells.... now on day 12. There's nothing I can eat to fix it, all my go-to natural laxatives just make her really windy and super-uncomfortable. I'm just waiting it out, carrying spare clothes everywhere I go.

OOOOOO ME! what days were you's supposed to have been posted? Maybe she did express post them but they just managed to get the trucks through. Mine was supposed to have been posted on the 20th so I'm a tad concerned.... It was my rasberry slush outer and I really like that one!

Audax- I'd be seeing a dr hun. 12 days is a LONG time and they might have something stronger to prescribe. At that stage she might hurt herself pooing if no laxatives are given.

WOCB: Pink BBH Medium with a trifold in. I couldn't be bothered going outside to get a booster from out of the sun to make an abby gro for nap time.

CL, I think you will find that delays on despatch from AG are common (and its not the fault of AP) :( They eventually turn up, but "they were posted on such and such a date, its AP's fault" is pretty standard from her.
A shame, they are lovely naps, but there are many who wont buy from her as often stuff is listed as in stock when it is not.
You will get them though, ask her for the tracking #, that may hurry her up.

i bought some ecostore our foodland had it :dance: now to wash/soak a few (read 1million) things... only thing was i had to pay $8.25 :angry:

I think it's 50/50 really. I have gotten a bunch of stuff registered and it's dawdled through the post sytem because I've watched its registered progress. Other times she's sent me a message saying it wasn't actually in the lot she got to the post office when she thought it was.

ok, i think im done!!! i had a stash count yesterday, and we have 37 in use 1 put up for her bday and 4 are on the way for krystal, and for baby-yet-to-be-named i have 7 mcn's, 20 odd flats and 3 on the way. so i think im prety much set! just need to get a few more nb and we will be set!might have to look into some prety covers to go over the flats:think: have to save a little first! df was helping me put them away and said he thinks weve got enough! but i know he secretly is loving opening the new ones with krystal when they come!! i think ill get rid of the 2 magicalls if i see one i realy have to have, so farive been tempted, but havent bought, see how long that lasts tho!

ok i massivley jinxed myself last post, we have not had a poo yet today, normally there is an epic one at about 6am and another slightly less epic one at about 8am or 9am. i am still waiting... i even went and checked the nappy bucket to make sure DF hadnt taken it upon himself to change him since he got up early. nothing...im thinking the rice i gave him last night didnt agree with him so well...
im thinking maybe i did something wrong with the ecothingo. i did a superwash (inc. soak) and they came out looking and feeling the same as with the other stuff (albiet smelling better) the stains might even be worse than with biozet :(

OMG, my nappies need sunlight!
We haven't had a decent sunny day since before christmas. Facing flooding here as well, but thankfully nothing compared to QLD.
Roads may be closed & washed away (again), but we are on very high ground. Other than inconvenience we'll be fine. (Hope DH doesn't get stuck at home... the river/creek near his work is on the rise...)

7 nappies have arrived :D
4 IB's, 2 swaddlebees & a bottom bumper. Still waiting on 4 more itti's, 2 delicate delights (currently affected by floods though) & my MAL order.
Hoping the IBs arrive this week :)

May need to sell off a few, or replace. DD is fine with PUL inside a nappy, but has been going red inside her thighs & I'm trying to work out if its the bare PUL against her skin, or something else (heat etc).

Best go get the dry nappies in (if there are any) & try to dry some clothes!

Still no poo, but not game to leave the house in case I can't get back.

im taking nappy inserts to the laundromat to dry im not in brissie but family live there and everyone is in my prayers im so sick of the rain i can only imagine how it would be up there :( kids are in sposies at the moment

Woo HOO - fluffy mail!!! Got the new solid IB colours in AI2 - bubblegum (is really pink), navy (denim-ish tone), and silver - looks good - already done a pre-wash. Just waiting to dry the outers so I can snap in some dry boosters and DS can wear them!!!


Do I need to pre-wash the boosters? I usually do 3 wash & drys before using the inserts/boosters.

Going to try the RG soak on some of my inserts later as I got a bag with the IBs.

POO! In a terry flat! And a bit on a backup prefold. She's now asleep after that massive effort.
