I rinse my wet nappies as well (mostly). I'm trying the RG shaker stuff too - seems to work most of the time (unless I forget to get DH to rinse the night nap).
I had this issue awhile back - tried leaving the lid slightly ajar - less build up of ammonia, putting a drop or two of eucalyptus or Tea Tree oil, airing buckets outside and rinsing well before going out for an air, tried the citrus sticker things for the nappy bucket (can't remember what they're called) that worked for a bit but it was strong on the citrus smell instead.

My bucket's in the laundry with no lid on. I have 3 buckets I alternate between... (1 proper nappy bucket, 1 small nappy bucket I got from a discount shop & the other one is the one that comes with the pink breast cancer awareness car wash bucket, from woolies)
    I rinse/air outside between buckets

I have a swing top bin, and every time I empty it I sprinkle bicarb in the bottom and a drop or so of lavender oil. Then I just dump that in the machine with the next load, and so the cycle continues.

I'm watching some poo stains fade in this intense sun... it's literally happening before my eyes! Is there such a thing as too much sun? Hope not...

I rinse even wee only inserts in this heat. Our bathroom gets the westerly sun so heats up of an afternoon. I also leave the lid off even though bathroom smells a bit piddly. I feel a litttle pee smell is so much better then the burning, gagworthy, eye watering ammonia smell that develops if lid is on in heat. I also alternate between two buckets. Bucket not being filled with nappies is wiped with lavendar oil and left to air outside for 24 hours. I do daily loads in the heat because even the rinsed nappies go too whiffy for my liking.

All my nappies have been almost dry before I've finished hanging them on the clothes horse lately. It hit 45 on friday. I've been hibernating in front of the A/C

I thought it was strange that Viktor from Russia was posting random symbols in a cloth nappy thread!

Ittis aren't a great fit on my little miss. They work but they're not perfect. I have some mediums... sell or keep? Especially the cow print one! Torn...

I was thinking the same thing Audax. I'd like to try some tuttos as the mediums are getting a bit small. May aswell replace with something I can use on the next baby!

I think tuttos are great, although I don't know how they'll go with a heavy wetter... Audax, if they're not working great I'd sell them on and find something else, there's so many brands out there to try.

WONB: BBH fitted and tea cosie wool soaker (haven't gotten him out of bed yet).
