Now i was wondering about liners? Bub has a pretty mean nappy rash atm and was thinking of getting some silk liners. Has anyone used them? Are they worth the $$$ The other option i have is cutting up some microfleece and using it for liners so i can smother bubs butt in sudocreme and not worry? I washed all the nappies in hot water and a ts of The Right Stuff instead of Aware to see if that makes a difference as well. Is it ok to use Earth Choice washing liquid? coles had a very limited selection today.

I've heard they're the bee's knees for liners on sensitive bums. I was going to order a bunch in the last nappy hunt but Pixie's rash cleared up. It turned out to be teething combined with the washing product we were using at the time (can't remember which now). I say go for it!

I've actually got some green raw silk scraps and thinking about making my own mmm maybe i'll try that before paying $30 +p+h for 3 liners and see how i go?

WRT night nappies, do you change your bubs through the night if they wake or are the nappies you have good enough to last a whole night? ATM when Hazel wakes i just pop her in bed with me and don't need to change her with a sposie til morning so not keen on a midnight nappy change as it wakes her up to much and i'm lazy lol

I cycle through the different Eco brands of washing powder because I think each brand will help wash out the other brand's residue. What do you think of my theory?

I'm thinking of selling some nappies, can you recommend a place to sell? I'm clueless.

also, those pop ins. are they designed so that only the insert/ booster gets dirty and you can reuse the cover without needing to wash it? I don't like pockets because you need too many covers because the liner always gets soiled (no matter what they claim). What other nappies can you recommend?

Crystalwings nup. I use maz night nappies with a maz 2 up cover and they last a full 12+ hours. DS also takes a drink bottle to bed with him (one of those nuby no spill straw ones...) that is usually empty in the morning if that gives you an idea how much wee they can handle

DS has been doing the most feral poos. The kinda where your elbow deep in poo washing it out in the laundry trough and thinking "why on earth do I use cloth?!" I so need a LS.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you could get away with that, my pop in shells never get wet cause my boosters never fail, even after 12+ hrs the bottom booster is still dry. The night booster is so so thirsty. And I fold the top one up and over in half for the willy

Crystalwings- once DS stopped pooing over night I stopped changing his nappy. If you have a good night nappy there is just no need, plus it really wakes them up!

I keep my pins in a bar of soap and run them through my hair as well, and I still hate them. CL I keep my bar of soap inside a sealed container, would that help?

I use microfleece liners and Gaia skin soothing lotion (contains zinc) They're black liners, so they don't stain. Or I use earth child baby balm.

Crystal - I don't change through the night. I just boost the bejeebers out of a bamboo fitted and use a fleece cover. I'm not getting out of bed if I don't have to!

kuraiza - I love your theory. My fave detergent now is my homemade jar of special: 1 tsp soap nut powder, 1 tsp washing soda and 1 tsp Borax. Fill jar with warm water, shake, then use 20mL in every wash It's perfect. Oh, and I soak my cloth wipes in a little bit of Earthchoice and water, so a tiny bit of that probbbbly goes in too.

Maybe if it was padlocked Pixie is the master in opening EVERYTHING.

I have 2 dresser draws filled with flats, prefolds and the bonnibuns I'll be using until the new addition outwets them (if the fit suits). If they don't suit him then I'll put them on MCN buy/swap/sell page for someone else. Bubs is looking rather hefty in build compared to Pixie in utero. I had a peek at the measurements at the Ob's and they dimensions are a little denser than Pixie's at 32 week ultrasound.

I need a wet bag. I made a really funky one out of rubber backed curtain material but it wasn't water proof - whoops :S
A local close parent distributor / demonstrator has them for $13 so i thought i might just hook up with her next time i'm in town. She also has a deal on pop-ins at the moment - buy 2 for $36each and get the third one free which equates to $24 per nappy. Lots of people seem to rave so i wanted to give it a go as it would be good to do away with my night time sposies and use them instead with a night booster if i need it. I think if i do get that deal then i will have enough nappies and i'm going to have to ban myself from looking

The pop in night boosters feel divine and seem like they'd be awesome. My sister got me a couple of them from a baby expo for $3 each. I haven't had the opportunity to use them yet.

Still working on potty training here. 1 accident today but she was reeeeeeally tired by 6. Did a poo before book time in the potty though

WOCB: usual night sposie. The days using those are numbered though because she's only doing 1 wee overnight (if that) now. Will be trialling cloth again after the sposies are done.

Defo try a night booster crystal, they are super thirsty.
I'm told they also make excellent prefolds for newborns.
Only thing is they go a bit stiff from the sun, I need to pop mine in the dryer.

You can just scrunch them a bit WMM. I found the boosters went crispy when they were overdried in the sun. If they only got say morning sun then finished drying the last nit in the shade it was awesome.

My mcn's- happy with our AC/DC custom. Not sure if the embroidery will go the distance, looks a bit loose in some places. But IF I'm happy with the actual nappy I may try some plain Velcro ones.

I wash mine once to get the manufacturing residue off it, then use it as normal in my stash, but only use it for like, 1 hour, instead of 2 hours

Otherwise - its a waste of water just to keep washing it until its at the right absorbency - may as well use it in the meantime!

AFM - with a kilo of poo stuck inside DD1 that we have to use medicine to get out of her - I'm going sposies for a while I think... imagine washing a kilo of poo down the laundry sink.. bahahahahaha

I've never had any leakage with any nappies that wasn't my own fault. Lol
