I'm not 100% sure but I think you could get away with that, my pop in shells never get wet cause my boosters never fail, even after 12+ hrs the bottom booster is still dry. The night booster is so so thirsty. And I fold the top one up and over in half for the willy ;)

Crystalwings- once DS stopped pooing over night I stopped changing his nappy. If you have a good night nappy there is just no need, plus it really wakes them up!

I keep my pins in a bar of soap and run them through my hair as well, and I still hate them. CL I keep my bar of soap inside a sealed container, would that help?

I use microfleece liners and Gaia skin soothing lotion (contains zinc) They're black liners, so they don't stain. Or I use earth child baby balm.

Crystal - I don't change through the night. I just boost the bejeebers out of a bamboo fitted and use a fleece cover. I'm not getting out of bed if I don't have to!

kuraiza - I love your theory. My fave detergent now is my homemade jar of special: 1 tsp soap nut powder, 1 tsp washing soda and 1 tsp Borax. Fill jar with warm water, shake, then use 20mL in every wash :D It's perfect. Oh, and I soak my cloth wipes in a little bit of Earthchoice and water, so a tiny bit of that probbbbly goes in too.

Maybe if it was padlocked :lol: Pixie is the master in opening EVERYTHING.

I have 2 dresser draws filled with flats, prefolds and the bonnibuns I'll be using until the new addition outwets them (if the fit suits). If they don't suit him then I'll put them on MCN buy/swap/sell page for someone else. Bubs is looking rather hefty in build compared to Pixie in utero. I had a peek at the measurements at the Ob's and they dimensions are a little denser than Pixie's at 32 week ultrasound.

A local close parent distributor / demonstrator has them for $13 so i thought i might just hook up with her next time i'm in town. She also has a deal on pop-ins at the moment - buy 2 for $36each and get the third one free which equates to $24 per nappy. Lots of people seem to rave so i wanted to give it a go as it would be good to do away with my night time sposies and use them instead with a night booster if i need it. I think if i do get that deal then i will have enough nappies and i'm going to have to ban myself from looking :)

WOHB - a sposie. she is asleep on me atm. we have been for our first trip to the hospital tonight. Ear infection and croup, poor bubba. Might be a looonng night me thinks.

The pop in night boosters feel divine and seem like they'd be awesome. My sister got me a couple of them from a baby expo for $3 each. I haven't had the opportunity to use them yet.

Still working on potty training here. 1 accident today but she was reeeeeeally tired by 6. Did a poo before book time in the potty though :D

WOCB: usual night sposie. The days using those are numbered though because she's only doing 1 wee overnight (if that) now. Will be trialling cloth again after the sposies are done.

Defo try a night booster crystal, they are super thirsty.
I'm told they also make excellent prefolds for newborns.
Only thing is they go a bit stiff from the sun, I need to pop mine in the dryer.

You can just scrunch them a bit WMM. I found the boosters went crispy when they were overdried in the sun. If they only got say morning sun then finished drying the last nit in the shade it was awesome.

My mcn's- happy with our AC/DC custom. Not sure if the embroidery will go the distance, looks a bit loose in some places. But IF I'm happy with the actual nappy I may try some plain Velcro ones.

I wash mine once to get the manufacturing residue off it, then use it as normal in my stash, but only use it for like, 1 hour, instead of 2 hours

Otherwise - its a waste of water just to keep washing it until its at the right absorbency - may as well use it in the meantime!

AFM - with a kilo of poo stuck inside DD1 that we have to use medicine to get out of her - I'm going sposies for a while I think... imagine washing a kilo of poo down the laundry sink.. bahahahahaha

I only wash mine once too, but because I'm lazy ;)
I've never had any leakage with any nappies that wasn't my own fault. Lol

That is cute :) I'll have to give my DH a lesson before i go back to work (boohoo) p/t next month.

Well first night in cloth Bamboo BBH with the long insert and bamboo trifold with wool cover over the top. No leaks! and it was on for about 13hrs. Pretty impressed.

I noticed that too! I think the added oxygen in the bottle does something to the sorbitol after first use.

DD used wait for it............ ONE NAPPY during her nap (I think it was dry when she woke up too) and only had one accident so 2 pairs of "unders" yesterday. Even though she was "I'm not going to move off the couch because death has warmed up" sick she still requested undies and potty. All the congestion has wreaked havoc on her guts :(

WMM, you're in trouble... I'm in love with bonnibuns. They fit DS perfectly! I was surpsied... they seem so teeny for a OSFM.

I noticed the bonnibuns seemed tiny too but they're surprisingly generous in fit. At least they're a good, reasonably priced workhorse. The only thing I found was that the sewn in bamboo in the shell meant they took a bit longer to dry. I put one on DD the other day for a quick shopping trip because she's mostly waiting until we get home now. She's barely down the row of snaps. It's kind of a pain to use them on her though because I have to flip the insert over and lay in an old CT insert to stop the suedecloth contacting her skin.

Oh that's a bugger... I bought WMM natural ones, I think they're bamboo velour inside? N'yeah I noticed the inner bit in the shell too, but all my CT's are they same so they'll just have to stay on the line a little longer with them :)

I have my nappies on the clothes horse with the inner up either in the pool area, on the front verandah or under the heater. I just make sure the elastic isn't stretched tight. They seem to dry faster because the moisture isn't trying to evaporate through the PUL.

so i have to ask... what exactly makes a "workhorse" nappy?
are we talking that they're less on looks, and more on practicallity?

Yep. One of mine is an oooooooldie with micro inner and black bamboo. But otherise, all suedecloth. Which is only a problem here if we do it two nappiess in a row.

No nappy news here. Need to de-stash. Can't.

yep helle exactly that except i know some ppl that their pretties are their workhorses ive always mostly had workhorses except i count my DM's as workhorses and pretties can even get a night out of them in emergencies by adding a trifold pretty much all jazzys nappies are DM's except for a Petite peony and a few GK's with issys on the way lol oh and nic nap nights

FINALLY got around to a strip wash today of all our nappies. boy did they stink! DS still has a nappy rash which with bepanthen and curash powder is slowly clearing up. looks much better then what it did the other day! almost gone now. so fingers crossed he will be back in cloth tomorrow depending on whether they dry in time or not. its horrible weather here today. extremely windy and raining. was going to do some gardening in DS's nap time but decided against it when it got windy.

Are you sure she isn't going to honour the list first? I know when cgr announced she was closing she said she would finish all customs on the list.

I ended up with the dream dri cause she only had one bamboo left. don't like the synthetic against bubs skin as much but it will be good to have fast drying nappies in bad weather. They are in the wash now.
