WOJB: nic nap nights
I missed out on the one in the firefly stocking that I wanted (size 1 peechee) but I scored one for my friend that she was after, she's just moved house so no internet, so she was trying for another one on my laptop, and I was trying for one for her on my netbook, and we set DH's computer up with the one that I wanted to buy - I scored the one for her, she missed out and DH was still in with the girls so I missed out.. LOL
Then I went to the Peechee site and she had 2 minky pockets on there, so I grabbed them instead, for heaps cheap cos they aren't as "pretty" as her embroidered ones.
WOMB: Widdlewuns night pocket - custom (with tie dye bamboo velour inner.. scrumptious!!)
WOEB: Beetlebums WNP - which I'm not sure if it is reacting with her skin cos her rash isn't getting any better.....
WOSB: Um can't remember but I stuffed a prefold in there as well cos she outwet it last time I put it on her overnight....
I got one in the firefly stocking by total fluke!! Was on facey and saw their link and checked it out, saw one I liked and add to cart. I thought it was just a normal website purchase only realised after it was a stocking. Yaaay! Plus itti bitti are having a sale, plus on Friday another website had bbh 40% off or something for a closing down sale. Eek I'm officially on a ban. DH will have a sh*t fit when he sees it all arrive!!!
Lol!!! Awesome work there mate !!! (and which website had 40% off?)
Hey Mel, it was a fb page I had liked called 'bubs n stuff', I just blindly follow links my 'like' pages put up lol!! They're closing down I think. I got 2 bbh magicalls,1 bbh fitted, a cover and a swim nappy for about $70ish I think.....
Ahh ok cool - good score!0
I've been meaning to come in here for ages - (Hi Mel! *waves* )
DS and DD are both in cloth - DS full time, DD full time except for nights. I'm still building up DD's stash which is lots of fun! :D
Ellasmummy: Wow, how lucky to just stumble onto the firefly stocking and get something! It's so competetitve, lol!
I managed to score the Fluffy Bubs Cute Critters nappy set last night . I then went onto the Bubs n Stuff site this morning after seeing EM mention it, and I picked up a BBH magicall and a wool soaker. I'll be stalking the postie all week!
A quick question about night nappies: What would you recommend for nights? DS has always just worn a bamboo BBH with a cover. This works fine for him as he's not a huge wetter. DD on the other hand is a big wetter, so I'm not sure if the same combination would work for her.
WOOB: Dragonfly Magik SS
WOAB: A sposie atm since she's still asleep
i just checked it out and it's 50% off now - thanks for that one ellasmummy
All good here, my wool cover is a bit smelly so have to wash it for the first time and lanolise, hope it goes alright. My nappies also need sun bad, stains are mounting lol
Love my pop ins, so trim and they dry super fast. Have had to use terries a little and man do they leak sooo much more then mcn's!
Anyone tried Ms Cute Bottoms nappies? They seem quite reasonable
Do you take your bucket and naps on holidays?
WOHB - Pistachio Pop In Dream Dri
^no expert here lol but i use either a BBH magicall or bamboo or hemp fitted with boosters and a bamboo trifold and cover. that works well too
Sterla... THATS THE ONE I WANTED :( :( LOL. was it the one with the gekko and spider? So cute!
wowb- Bonnibuns baby boy print
WMM: The ones I got were for DD, so they're probably not the same ones you went for. One has a ladybug design on white minky, the other is a bee design on pink minky.
Aah cool, there was a boy version as well :D
Oooh sterla I saw them!! But was too poxy to get 2 lol. Didn't know that the stocking was so popular. Meanwhile I am 4th on the customs list for chic nappies I think its called, the lady that was doing petit peony, and she's starting customs this week or next week wooooooo! I am on a serious ban aside from that lol. I was looking through an auction page for a sick bubba, and Fe fi fo bum nappy people donated a custom spot, and it went for $362!!!!
Holy poop that an exxy nappy! I think that the nappies people donate make alot of money for those auctions which is awesome but i do wonder if the price they pull is more about the cause or the nappy???
Im waiting for mia moo to open their customs list again. It was over 100 when she closed it!!!
Sterla - we use a mirabai here at night for S and it works well. You know that nappy I got off you? Put S in it last night, chucked a prefold in there as well and she still flooded it lol thinking of getting some twinkle lily super nights for S as well so that might be an option for you? They are really absorbent
EM - nice score! Well done.
So my de-stash? Sold 5, bought 5, swapped 1. Fail.
Fluffy mail waiting at the PO! Will be my Bubblebubs order.
CW - I have a giganto wetbag that we take on holidays. Still sitting pretty on 5 sposies since birth!
WONB: ME Sandys. The small still fits. Awesome little nappy.
Haha audax destash fail!! I've put the ones I want to sell in a pile, but can't bring myself to list them!!
WOCB - fushia tutto
:D Well the point of it was streamlining, really. There is a lot less brand diversity now, which means one less excuse for hubby when it comes to folding the washing!
WONB: Bamboozle. They were a good buy.
Nope, I took a wetbag that held about 8 nappies but I was able to wash/use the dryer. I found the wetbag was easier to transport than a bucket.
Well, it's official I have a TTed DD. We've had several outings and no accidents for a week. We are now using cloth for naps and overnights because she seems to dump most of the contents of her bladder prior to changing into a nappy. Yesterday's nappy wasn't even wet when she woke up from her nap.
WOCB: undies
Audax: Haha, no excuses now! Maybe that's what I need to do with my DH!
Thanks for the suggestions re: night nappies. I have a wool soaker coming, so will try a bamboo BBH with that, probably with an extra booster or two. Will definitely look into the Twinkle Lily nights :).
Okay, I have another question which I feel a bit silly asking seeing as I've been using cloth for 2 years now, but... what do you do with newborn breastfed baby poo nappies... you can't really get the poo off the nappies and into the toilet like when they're older. I always put a liner on, but more often that not DD's poos spread further than the liner goes. I have just been washing them poo and all, but I'm starting to get some rather yellow stains on my nappies from them sitting in the nappy bucket for a day or two.
Sterla, I rinse her nappies with the other ones then chuck in the bucket. I wash every night though cos I go through about 20 nappies a day here.
I just rinse the NB poo off in the laundry sink. Once it get more solid I will flush down the loo :)
I never rinsed....just chucked in the bucket lol. Was lucky enough to sun pretty much every load though, and have no stains. Now dd poos once a week lol so I save a load for when I know its coming. Once solids start I'm guessing I will need a new game plan lol.
Which flushable liners do you all use?
Sterla re night naps, dd is 4mths old and sleeps at least 12hrs overnight. I either use bbh magicall with extra booster or bbh fitted with a cover and I've never had a leak :)
Thanks for the advice girls :).
EM: I use washable microfleece liners which get washed along with all my nappies and wipes.
Will be giving BBH a go at nights with DD once the wool soaker arrives :).
So last 3 nights I have been clothing Pixie and she loves it! Every night we used to get a tantrum when the sposie went on. I am testing the pop in night boosters my sister got me tonight because the trifold for my bonnibuns night nappy was a tad damp. Last nights Maz nappy with cover lasted til this morning but once again it's her post bath wee that's huge. She drinks so much water with dinner that once her tummy gets cold after her bath she needs to do a huge wee!
I also got my snappis today. I could only find happy baby brand ones in Kmart, are they okay? I am feeling it's a tad close to EDD to order stuff now because I had DD at 36w 5d gestation. I have no idea where else to purchase items like that here except maybe the baby shop (which charge double the price!). They seemed to grip the nappy that I tested on Pixie's bear well and are currently getting stretched on the rug in the spare room. Any suggestions on how long to leave them stretching?
WOCB: Bonnibuns choc dot night nappy with pop-in night booster and an abby gro care bears fleece shell as an additional cover.
Oh man a pop in night booster would kick a$$ in a bonnibuns night nappy!!!
Why didn't I think of that!!!
Cl - happy baby brand is fine. As for where to get them, woolies or Coles sometimes stock them, or big w.? And I usually give mine a half arsed stretch with my fingers before use, probably less than a minute lol!
EM - I use reusable ones like sterla. I use flushable if I take cloth away with me for a holiday easier to clean nappies!!
All im gonna say is arrrggghhhhhh. People sh*t me! Whats so wrong with using cloth? Why do people have to get an attitude about?
Ugh jak I know!! I would never give anyone a hard time for using sposies. I find some people have opinions on all aspects of other peoples parenting, even if they don't have kids!!! Opinions are like ar*eholes, everyone has one. don't take any notice hun. What got said to you?
So true, and i always admit i 'judged' alot of my friends parenting styles years ago. Now i just say 'what the F*** did i know?'. Now i have one all my opinions are sooooo different!
Wow, I'm really surprised that people say negative things about cloth like that! Luckily, I've only ever had people say nice things. There are more positives with cloth than negative, and it's really not as hard as some people think it is! Plus, they're so pretty! :D
WOOB: Dragonfly Magik SS
WOAB: Peechee Cloth pocket
*Well that didn't last long, lol*
WOOB: Hemp BBH with Maz cover
My package from Bubs n Stuff arrived! Yay! So, I now have a BBH magicall in retro gala for Miss A, as well as a wool soaker to try for night time. Can't wait to try them both!
WOOB: Another Hemp BBH with a maz cover
WOAB: Custom Fluff E Stuff fattycakes.
Oooohhh, Sterla, luscious bottoms at your place!
We just went for a fluffy walk to get our Bubblebubs delivery. Two large AIOs, fully husband approved as they're his faves, and only $20 each. And one is cuddlefleece. Even better.
WONB: MagicAll
question!! Are the bonnibuns work horses (the quick dry ones) minky or just PUL?
They are PUL :)
I got a large bubblebubs from bubs n stuff, will be a while before i can try it. I also got a Nooni (?). Looks similar to a pop in but its a pocket. 50% off :)
wowb- bonnibuns hawthorn custom

WOMB: BBH magicall
WOJB: DM ooops might have to just put her in the pics with her nappies lol only realised after i opened the packges
i have a friend who really likes mcn's but has decided to use sposies coz she cant keep up with the washing that she has now. mind u this is the first baby and she doesnt work! very frustrating!
The only negative response I've had to cloth nappies is people saying they don't want to have to deal with poo. I had to inform them it's actually illegal to dispose of human faeces in the general garbage and they're supposed to dump poo from disposables as well, of course no one knows that and no one does that, but how gross is it to fill garbage tips with poo, let alone nappies that never break down.
