Jaki - i saw you posted on the pic of my nappy on the fb page - stunning huh? can't stop looking at it. for those of you on the fb page, my new custom is the gorgeous green slushy minky nap with the dragonfly emb - so in love
I re added myself to the page and am addicted again so need to leave again soon after buying another nappy today lol but i have a couple of little things for sale on there so can't leave yet :P
Glad to see some sun here today, my nappies need it. Especially since little miss has been unwell and had panadol and i now have a horrible stain on my best nappy. Der, totally slipped my mind. Luckily it's a pocket and it's only the insert. I'm hoping some sun will help.
I have found the most lovely detergent. Ecover. It rocks! makes nappies smell divine and is super gentle. a bit exe but worth it
What other things besides panadol can affect nappies? i've been playing it safe as we have been using chest herbs with DD for bronciolitis and wondering if that would stain?
=( I just lost my post =( =( ...oh man... you dont realise (well you probably do) how much energy it takes me to do anything atm....
so...now to remember what i posted...i might just jump to my question rather than all the buildup =P
basically i want a main stash of nappies that i use all the time - and ones that i will use for ages. and then ill have a few 'pretties' which will be custom patterns that will be for special occassions.
I've been looking on the net and i like the sound of the BBH magic all multi fits. cause they look like they will last for years. (growth wise). will i be right if i just buy a whole bush of these? or should i really buy one of every different types? i'd rather buy the nappy and use it...im not keen on getting different types to then not use them..
those magic all multi fits are all in 1s, i like the idea of all in 2s... can you still add boster things into all in 1s??
(oh and i plan on using flats for the first few weeks and then go to the mcn.)
please help me set up my stash!!! (i know its early days but as i described in my lost post i plan on buying a few at a time rather than them all at once.)
My stash is set up as follows for my soon to be newborn
12 Newborn Prefolds, 6 New Born Covers half PUL and half Minkee, 4 Grovia Newborn AIO's
3 Microfibre Boosters
3 Bamboo Boosters
12 Infant Prefolds, 6 Small Covers (half PUL and Half Minkee),1 HH Pocket, 3 BBH Magic all Pockets, 2 Bear Bottom Pockets, and 7 Little Britches Pockets.
(Plus all the inserts and boosters that go along with it)
Quality wise, I really love my Little Britches. I am probably least happy with the Happy Heiny there is nothing actually "wrong" with it, but it does have that mass produced feel IYKWIM, so that is why I only have one beucase I wanted a cow print. I tend to prefer the press studs over velcro so almost all of mine are prestuds.
Hope this helps This set up was recommended, especially the newborn prefolds becuase they need more changes, and the prefolds cost alot less and can be used to boost other nappies later on. I'm going to get a few more new born prefolds just so I dont have to wash every day.

is it worth buying the prefolds?? or will i be right with just flats?? i thought the only difference was prefolds were that...the exact same as flats but already folded. or do they do more than that?
You can use either, the Prefolds are smaller and trimmer than terry flats and can be dry pailed with the rest of your MCN's rather than soaked as far as I'm aware. Rather than folded, they are usually divided into 3 sections, with the middle section having the most layers and the outers less so more padding where it's needed. As opposed to the terry flats which are just one peice of cloth.
They are also really cost effective, 12 costing approx $40 where as MCN's start at $25 each unless you get them on sale, which is why I opted for half of each. Covers are also way cheaper, you can get new BBH PUL covers on ebay for like $6, and fleece ones for about $15, but I do like the MCN's as well.
Oh I also forgot my night nappies, I have 4 Popin Bamboo MCN. They are much bulkier but also that is what is needed at night
If your interested Daily Baby Deals often have nappies for sale, so it may be a good way to get some differerent types are lower than retail cost. Also a few places do Laybuy which is how I got most of my stash. Nappy Bucket, Baby Bee Hinds etc as I know how much the outlay can be daunting

i used flanny flats for the first few weeks just folded another one on top when she peed more then we had bamboo prefolds then we moved onto MCN we use dragonfly magik GK pockets and small BBH magicalls and a few small ittis
we got rid of the smalls at about 6 months and all her nappies except for one are osfm just hope she doesnt outgrow them but ds still wears nappies he fit in at 8 months old and he is 2 and a half
but i have skinny bubbas lol
i guess it depends on what u prefer to do but i know the flats were easy and i just dry pailed i didnt soak them i never used terry flats though but i know someone who only uses flats her bubba is 1.5
thanks TJ, yea i would be using the terry flats...
those dragonfly magik ones are where i think i will get most of my 'pretties' from =) i love some of those designs. are they good? which others ones are they most like?
