Jennifer if you want something for a little bot, try Bambooty smalls. They are lusciously little, pretty cheap, and a really easy intro to MCNs. We loved them in the early days (we had a 4kg baby, but she was on the larger settings from birth, and they were designed for little bubbas) I haven't used Rumparooz, but Mrs Nerd Burger seemed to liek them and she's a pretty harsh critic.
Pockets: Little Britches are pretty good! Very thirsty, and very hardwearing. DD has been in hers since about 4 weeks (And she's 11 months tomorrow! Sob!) and still look like new. I also love GKs for their versatility, they can be stuffed with anything.

We just got our LS set up again after a two month hiatus. And thank god. The watermelon and edamame nappies were hard work, even for me, the most dedicated cloth user in the world, ever.
we started off with pea pods and cushie tushies for when DS was born. he didnt fit into them until he was around 7 or 8 weeks old tho and had hit that 4kg mark. he was 2.7kg when he was born.
bbh petites in small might fit a little baby. the weight range starts at 2.7kg.
It has been AGES since I've been in here primarily because I've had DS2 in disposable nappies most of his life now.
However, I've found some bamboo nappies that I THINK are going to work for him - in which case I will use them for our new baby who is due to arrive around 19 April.
Here is my question... I know that bamboo nappies need to be washed three times to reach their maximum absorbancy.
BUT do you have to wash AND dry them or can you just wash them three times in sucession and then dry them once and they are ready to go?
Because if I have to wash AND dry them three separate times I won't be able to put them on him until next week - such is life if that is the case!
You can just wash once or twice- to get rid of any residues from manufacturing- and put them on bub but just for short periods (knowing that it won't be at full absorbency). You don't need to dry between washes. I think it still takes 8 or 10 washes until bamboo gets to full absorbency.

I just unearthed three bags of MCNs, covers and pilchers from my baby storage pile that I picked up from a lady on Freecycle about two years ago (lent some to another friend at the time). I had no idea but there are half a dozen BBHs, Green Kids, Bun Genius MCNs with numerous boosters and about thirty different sized random brands of fitted nappies and covers!! I'm so excited! Some are in really good condition and others are well used, but all in all I won't need any more. I can certainly do full-time cloth now.
I'm glad I bought NBs mostly so far, because I certainly won't need any more once baby is out of those.
I am doing a strip wash on some of my nappies this morning and I'm not sure if I have done it correctly.
I put what I thought was a good squeeze of dishwashing liquid in the machine (I have a front loader so was terrified of putting to much) - but I'm not sure if it was a full teaspoon or not.
Anyway, I've been peeking at the wash as the machine has been going and there are hardly any suds in it at all.
SO, when this cycle finishes should I put some more dishwashing liquid in and start all over again - or just rinse and see if it worked as I did it??
No worries - I found the strip wash sticky and it answered all my questions.
Good thing too as it seems to be MUCH quieter in here then it used to be when I relied on this thread regularly.
Great find Jennifer! I haven't had a lot of luck with Freecycle. I went to pick up some nappies a couple of weeks ago, thinking it was a good stack of terry flats, and found it was 5 holey flannie flats that had been used as rags. Booooo.
I have a basket to fold. Am procrastinating. Meh, it's the weekend.
still loving our cloth. i have made some which i'm really happy with. Mum is still using flats on her babysitting day and i use them at home sometimes too. got some bad panadol stains on some of my nappies, just don't think of it at the time.
i currently love my new AT nap i brought SH. great fit on my bubba. i'm still only using boosted bbh's at night, they work fine for us .

but there not much news here i came to the realisation that i dont need more nappies my son is well on te way to TT if i can get him to wear pants that is lol and if jazzy outgrows any of her nappies she can get his ones its really depressing and we dont want anymore babies

Haven't been around here for such a long time, and there are so many new faces. Looks like our MCN (and nappy) days are drawing to a close as well. Miss M rarely keeps a nappy on, doesn't matter if its front or side snaps - velcro has been a no-no for a long long time - within minutes she's ripped it off. I've been busily making some training pants out of the nappy making fabrics I've got here, just so I can use some of them up. No more babies (of ours) here either. I'm actually considering saving the OSFM or multi-sized nappies and using them in my FDC, not sure if thats just a sad reaction so I can still use them, or for the better of the children and/or environment. Just need to put it to the parents.

DS doesn't need anymore fluff (not trained yet but can't afford anymore and the GKs and IBs are doing him fine)
I started using our newborn fluff yesterday - once the meconium poos had stopped. I started about one nappy change too early - since the first poo was a complete explosion! I only feel slightly better knowing that even the disposable would have struggled to contain the output. She's settled down since into only normal sized newborn poos.
So far it's been good. I really like the Cheeky Butts Minis that were actually relatively cheap brand new. DP installed the nappy squirter the other day and it's working well to clean them off. So far we've only had a few to wash, but DP is insisting that's his job atm.

We are rocking terry flats at the moment. Nasty humidity related rash, so I'm using terries and my crusty old naps while I bombard her backside with cornflour. Pretty sure it's MCN friendly, but just staying safe anyway.
In other awesome news, we got through the night in a terry flat last night! I popped a trifold in there, ust to see how it would go, and ding ding ding! Winner! This is great news for when we travel to MIL's house, as she is a renowned nappy trasher.
