Use a liner if using bepanthen teirae or try moogoo msm cream.
Also my DH won't do nappies either although now he does with DD but his excuse with DS is I don't want to hurt his willy!!!! He won't change pooey nappies though, unless he is home with DD by himself which is very rare.
Tei, make your liner microfleece if you use bepanthen. I use microfleece liners pretty much all the time, they really cop a beating! My DH was a bit hesitant to change nappies too in the early days. I learned eventually that he was a bit intimidated by them all and preferred velcro. So I set up our change table with nappies in order of degree of difficulty - easy ones on the left, harder ones to the right. I worked from the right, he worked from the left, and we were all good from there The Bubblebubs AIOs are the most dad-proof nappy I've come across. Easy to wash, easy to fold, easy to put on. Take a while to dry, and the elastics can go pretty quickly, but they fill an important niche.
We are dealing with some epic poos here. Every single nappy. I saw the bottom of the wipes box today for the first time in months. And I have the nappies on an airer next to the heater for the first time EVER. I feel kinda dirty...
I find DH is okay with the pocket nappies like the BBH magicalls, rumparooz and bumcheeks, not so keen on the snap in ones like the tuttos. Yes they're colour coded but even then the colour coding has options which he finds confusing. He'll change them ok but won't fold them, where-as he'll help fold the pockets.

We took MCNs with us instead of sposies for our snow trip and went just fine. Helped to have washer and dryer at hand. Def needed the extra absorbency so I didn't have to change her too often. Even came back with plenty clean.
I've never holidayed without cloth. It's getting harder, but I'm pretty determined! I'm staying at Mum's at the moment, she is so supportive. As are my trusty flushable liners. I love them more than I love my husband right about now! As helpful as mum is, she finds all my different brands confusing, so I only brought Bubblebubs AIOs (no snapping) GFs (boosters match the outers) and bitti boos (colour coded snaps) for night. Win. Went out for lunch with some friends today, came home, and mum had sorted all the nappies, no help required. I was stoked
Really struggling to get nappies dry this Winter. i need another clotheshorse but can't find one that i like. I ended up buying 10 ebay cheapy nappies, and they are actually doing ok. i have some bamboo to make some extra boosters but it is not on the top of my list of things to do and the others are working ok on DS.
I am wondering if DD (2 yrs 3 months) is holding on to wees and then flooding cos the cloth nappies don't seem to be holding it. At first i thought the nappies were on the way out, but they work ok for DS. DD is curious about undies and toilets but hasn't quite made the connection. i am using disgustables when we are out with her atm (double reason with the washing as well).

I got a great clotheshorse from bunnings. Quite cheap too. Very sturdy, bigger frame. Didn't like those skinny ones. I bought two, which sit in my loungeroom, at window (north facing). Central heating vent right above, but think when the sun pops its head out does the best job. FWIW.

Yeah, my good clotheshorse i got from bunnings a couple of years ago, but they don't sell the same one anymore. it is high and sturdy and the rails are not all in line so you can fit all different sized clothes on it and they all dry. i had a look there and at Masters and Kmart and couple of storage places but haven't found any similar ones.
we have 3 clotheshorses.. and our middle room where the fire is is like a chinese laundry house! only bad thing is that room doesnt get sun. i dont use our clothesline cause its right up the back in the pool yard... i really need to sort that out but theres no sun atm anyway so no point.
i tried more of my stash my dragonfly magiks are amazing!!! first brand that hasnt leaked! first one was on for like 5 hrs and we were out n about in tiwn and no leaks and could have taken more the next one started to leak but only after 6-7hrs and she had done a massive poo in it. im so impressed.
currently test driving bbh magicalls and so far only 1 leak but i think that was my fitting ratger than the nappy.
im thinking of selling the itti bittis. i should give them another chance but eh...
I have one clothes airer but the only way it works inside is if we have the fire going at night time (which is good as it's generally one when the weather's cold and wet). I can easily lift it out the door into the sunshine if the weather permits.

if my little one has creeses on bum and elastic marks on her legs etc am i making the mcns too tight? how tight/firm is too tight/firm, cause dont they have to be a little to stop leaks?
I can normally fit my finger down between it and him, but not loose enough to not have any pressure on your skin. I normally get a little indent from elastics.

I back off when DD2's legs turn blue! Lol not quite, but she does get indentation marks. Nothing that lasts longer than a minute or so once the nappy is off.
She just has such chubby thighs!

ok, all good cause i felt bad, her legs havent turned blue yet, =) but there are marks where you can see the rolls have been squeezed together. but i dont feel so bad now =) thanks girls!
OMG...I just worked out I have been adjusting the MCNs wrong =P HA!! I often thought it was a sill design that the snaps didn't line up with the rise adjuster....I have just worked it out!!
