How often do you wash your nappies? Daily, every second day etc...
Every few days, generally when I'm out of my favourites. I could easily go about five.
I wash every second day. I don't like to leave them sitting around to long when they have wee or poo in them.
Used to do every 2-3 days; currently everyday as I'm chucking ds1's odd nappy, along with the training pants and wet/pooey clothes in with ds2's clothes (haven't got ds2 in cloth yet  ) and my breast pads

Thanks for answering my question, I usually wash a little less than that a week but happy to do nappies every second day
Sorry, another question - when you have got rid of the poo off the nappy, I am assuming you don't rinse them or rinse the wee ones? And do you just put them in a dry pail?
Once poo is off nappy they just go in the nappy bucket - wees don't get rinsed (unless it was the night nappy as that one stank something shocking in the morning) and just go in bucket.
On a side note can someone remind me how to get that wee smell out of nappies? DS1's are a bit whiffy even straight after a wash. Should a strip wash sort that out?
Thanks Leckert!
I use bi carb for the smell or sun... Strip wash also works if I have the time. :)
Thanks cat - might try the strip wash and sun (what's that? ) I suspect the reason they smell is cause I've been drying them inside lately and not out in the fresh air and the same ones seem to get used rather than rotating through them as we're only using them for day naps with ds1 or if he's decided not to tell us (or go by himself) when he needs to go to the toilet at home - he can use toilet appropriately when out but not at home :wall:
Gah - line full of nappies *almost* dry last night so I left them out for this morning's sunshine. And it rained!! Lucky I have heaps. Working through my second best stash while they dry inside now. Good rinse with rain water can't be bad for them, right?
Rainwater rinse helps soften them I find ;)
Rainwater also helps shift stains I reckon.
I did a Jen in reverse though. Gambled on the extra two hours of sun this morning, yanked them in, it rained 5 minutes later for 30 minutes, then I hung out the next load. Double triumph!
I bought Barnacle (number 2) and Noodle's first matching Nappies on Friday. GroVia cover for Noodle and AIO for the newbie. With bike print outer. So little and squishy and good!
I am sooo resisting the temptation to get my nappy stash out and look through what i have.. I know i have enough.. there is noooo need to be looking at nappies. (but oh my gosh the 'pretty' nappy market has gone nuts since i last bought MCN)
so many nice pretties out there, my favourite is my "where is the green sheep" nappy.
I am thinking of putting mu Itti tuttos up for sale, they just aren't a great fit on DS compared to the itti bittis, anyone interested?
I'm full up in my stash, Kitten. Clearly, since my rainwashed nappies are still drying, the bucket is almost full again and I'm still okay. Put them in buy, swap, sell, they'll be snapped up.
WOHB: cream BBH AIO with prefold booster (I'm at the hairdressers so it needs to last!)
hey guys im still here plodding along nothing interesting except jamie is toilet training so nappies are going to be either sold or given away i dont think any of his are in sellable condition lol pretty much outworn most of them and some just need to be thrown in the bin lol most of his have been second hand or more though so they've had a great run jazzy is next and i think she might actually toilet train soon :( not fair i love the little fluffy bum i think the olny nappy we havent owned yet is a scene nappy and they just seem a bit much for me i think the tutu bum was extreme so that didnt last long here

WORB ~ terrycloth with pink minky cover
=D
(and its massive on her!!! but she looks so cute!!)
Yay Teirae!! Now we just need a photo of that fluffy butt.
WOHB: white bum genius with prefold booster. Sooo much rain, so many nappies to dry.
Finally got sorted to get ds2 in cloth (aka finished off Huggies newborn sposies box) :leap: now the bin might not need changing so often ;)

Congrats Teirae! Newbie in Cloth = Cute as!
WOEB: Sposie lol. We are using sposies for night. I was loving her cuteness today - dress with huggalugs. Then dress with ruffle huggalugs because she pooped on her first pair. Sooooo cute. A wee little bit of chubba bubba thigh with cloth nappy & legwarmers. :D
So much to dry indeed! The ones I washed last night are drier than the ones I washed on Wednesday! Our yard gets NO sun in winter, so it'll be a while.
Tried my first bitti boos on the weekend, as night naps. Quite pleased, I have to say. Which s good, cause I bought 5! DD rubs them on her face, she loves velour!
WONB: pink GF Workhorse. AKA the nappy that will never die.
Just realized that I don't have enough sized smalls for ds2  I look like I barely have enough for 1.5 days at the rate he's wee-ing this morning (sticking to sposies overnight).
Problem is I has no $$$ to buy new/secondhand mcns :( the GKs might have to get used (emergency back ups). DS1 won't like that as he used one Sat before I'd gotten his itti inserts off the line (I strip washed all the inserts as they smelt badly of wee) and now I won't be able to use them with ds2 for a bit.
I've tried 2 fb mcn pages for secondhand ittis in small but no luck unless I wanted to pay the same as what I'd pay from the itti site.

Bugger. I have sold on all my smalls so can't help you. :(
I'm an itti sio snob ;) guess we'll be doing a mix of sposies & mcns until we hit the itti mediums - or I just suck it up and use the GKs - I don't like pockets or rather the stuffing of pockets (& DH doesn't remove inserts before putting in bucket so is not a pleasant job getting nappies ready for washing)

How do you deal with a baby who only poops a little when farting (so not enough to realize nappy needs changing) and so gets nappy rash because there's poop sitting there a while in cloth nappies? Currently gone back to sposies because I'm using sudocream. I'm not used to this as ds1 pooped a lot everyday for ages whereas ds2 does little bits and maybe one or two big poops a day (at 8 weeks)

I'm finding the MooGoo nappy cream excellent and you can use that with cloth. Someone on here recommended it. Have you tried that?
If I changed ds2 every time he farted I'd be out of nappies before lunch (if I'd realized he had farted; sometimes the poop comes out with a quiet fart that you barely hear :()

Do you know what is making him fast so much with follow through, sounds a little incontient?

He's having trouble passing wind (also doesn't like burping). I often have to bicycle his legs when changing as well and get a lot of wind out then. We're seeing a Chiro at the moment just for a check sort of thing; will remember to tell her this week. Pead wasn't concerned when I mentioned the gas issues at the 6 wk check (hadn't noticed the little poops at that stage)

Hey, leckert, what about liners? I used to do this with DD. I used micro fleece topped terry cotton boosters, so they caught a bit of liquid, and all of the solid, and you could just whip it out and pop in a new one.
so..stains, mine already have them... after 1 use! I didn't do a rinse before the wash... is this a must? it that help?
They'll wash out. Then come back. Then wash out again. Plenty of sun will help. :D
Ds2 is 8 weeks (just FYI). I just gave away the "chux" type liners that I had as I barely used half a dozen from the pack, and I've no idea where I put my raw silk liners (which I accidentally washed with detergent  wonder if I find these if they'll help) the problem is the poop doesn't really make out of the crack ITMS.

Defs liners then. I'd go for just straight micro fleece.
Tei - rinsing first is good. Do you spray the poo off? That helps, but sun is your number 1 best friend.
Well the good thing about winter is that I can leave the Nappies wet in the machine overnight :D Drying time suuuuucks though!
Can I get microfleece at spotlight? (and do I have to hem?)
Saw Chiro today and it seems ds2 was blocked up (not moving internally) adjusted now and should be better (back to check next week)

What are the best night nappies you've used? I'm happy with both the BBH and Widdlewuns, but I'm going to need the next size up for this chubba at some stage. Might as well keep an eye out for specials or secondhand now!
WOHB: BBH night nappy with white PUL cover
leckert - Lincraft yes, Spotlight not sure. No hemming required.
Jen - GF night Nappies are awesome. I have two that were used for two Nerd Burger kids, and have been in use here for over a year. Still going strong! Bubblebubs GNSTs are good too, they have a special on this weekend, I think.
WONB: BBH NN (snap!) and TotsBots fleece cover.
