Hey you guys. Just popping in to let you know we have created a cloth nappy buy/swap/sell noticeboard. It's a sticky here.
I may have accidentally purchased some large Swaddlebees on sale while browsing for covers (that I actually do need). Whoops. ;) Well, I did have a voucher I had to use!

I have a stack of tie dyed fitteds that I was going to sell. I made myself wait until warmer weather, and I am so glad I did! They are gorgeous.

I cannot get babylegs to work for us. DS used to wear them but DD2 has thighs that are just a bit too generous. Thankfully it's already warm enough here for singlets and ruffles and nothin else :D
yes the nappy hunt....lets not talk about what purchases may or may not be headed here.
I'm generally pretty safe from purchases in the nappy hunt. Whenever I see something I like enough to consider buying, they have invariably sold out in the size I want. I'm currently looking at a site with some gorgeous baby girl shoes - not too exxy esp with discount. All too big. I don't want to have to put them up for a year or two for them to fit :(
That is true. I've bookmarked a couple of sites to go back to later and missed what I had wanted.
moo goo is the stuff thats safe for mcns?
The MSN one is. Works really well here.
The nut free or regular msm cream is fine but not the bum cream (can't remember what it's called exactly) as its got zinc or something else that will stop absorbency.:
Moogoo MSM. I got a big tub and we use it on everything!
thanks girls i would have just bought the nappy cream one but i did look at the ingredients and saw zinc and that made me second guess it. it willbe good might try it on DH finger too (its dry and itchy and driving him nuts)
Well, I got some fleece covers on sale a few weeks ago and I love them. They're so soft and no marks on her legs! No leaks so they clearly do their job. Anyone else used them?

I love fleece too. Plus they are so much easier to care for than wool. I use fleece longies in winter, but now it's hot, they are just too warm for here. What sort did you get Jen?
You'll all be proud of me, DD2 has a cloth night nappy on tonight (usually I use sposies). I gave up on cloth long ago at night with DS since he wee-ed soooooo much. But, DD2 is not like him, and I won a Sandman's in the nappy hunt. So, I pulled out DS's old bonnibums night nappy and am giving it a crack. :D
I got Sugarpeas (I think). Something like that. Three plain with side snaps. I figure they can't be hotter than PUL anyway.
Fleece breathes heaps better than PUL. Keen to know more about yours Jen! I'm a tots bots devotee but they've stopped making them.
Today I'm sorting out. Our change station so that we're newborn ready! So hard to figure it out!

Sugar Peas, Audax. They were on sale, good fit. Little on the smaller size than weight indicates, but I tend to find that anyway because DD2 is quite long.

Just gotta give myself a round of applause for that homemade nappy... I was having a Bad Mother day and forgot to change DD for quite a few hours. It totally stood up to it, and still felt dry to the touch! It's a bugger to wash and dry, but worth it! And I made her a dog tail out of the scraps, which she wears all the time, and now they match! Yay!
Change station didn't get done. Ah well. Still got ages to sort that stuff out.

ive just cut up some of my old terry flats to use as cloth wipes. do others use them? what is your routine with them? do you keep them in a tub pre wet ready to use? or do you wetten them as you use them? how do you do that? Im just thinking I can picture me getting to the change table, putting Spock on there and realised I have to wet the cloth and means leaving her room to go to the bath room to wet it, and that would mean picking Spock back up and taking her. (there is a strap on the change table to strap her down but I'm not trusting it for when i leave the room).
I have a huggies wipes box that I use for my cloth wipes. I pre-wet them and put them in the box so they are ready to go. I have heard of some people keeping a thermos of warm water on the change table so bubs gets nice warm wipes. I'm mean - mine get cold wipes lol! No wonder DD doesn't ever want her nappy changed lol!
how wet to you make them? the cild isnt a problem Spock doesnt seem ro care about the cold
I wet them under the tap so they are wet through, then give them a little wring so they are wet but not dripping. I don't bother with any special wipes solutions or soaps either.
I don't think my DD cares about the cold much either, she just prefers to be naked so the moment her nappies off, she starts trying to get away lol!
