better than a big wad of plastic ;)
So true!
Call me lazy, but I just wet as I need to. A quick check before I get her gear off and then I go and wet a couple. She only has cold water....it's like 4 million degrees here so she doesn't care.
How exciting that you're getting all the nb stuff ready, Audax! I got to go through my nb stash to give my gf the non-girls ones a few weeks ago. Hard to believe I was getting them ready this time last year for DD2!
I found an American site that sells fleece covers and awesome toys and stuff. They even have doll MCNs (under $4!). And so close to Christmas... May have given Santa some stocking stuffer help. ;)

I have a link to a survey that entitles people who complete it a free wetbag. Am I allowed to post it here, as I am in no way affiliated with it except as a customer. Trying to pass on the free goodies.
I prewet my wipes in a huggies wipes container and leave it in the window. Seems to warm the wipes nicely when the suns out. DS seems to get upset when the cold wipes touch his you know what.
I keep a resealable container of water on my change table, so I wet as I go. Reminds me, it needs topping up. If I am particularly organized, I add some ecostore or Gaia baby wash.
When we're out, I wet under a tap if I can, but otherwise my squirt bottle does the job.
Just rearranged my change station into a two-kid setup! I still need a nappy stacker for the terry flats, but they're ok for now. New nappy bin on the wish list now.
AND I have packed three little Baby Safaris in my hospital bag. Not sure why three, when I plan o be there for 6 hours or less, but better to be safe, right?
WONB: Bonnibuns pocket. They're her poo receptacle of choice at the moment.
Hi Guys,
Am in a bit of a pickle. I finally relented and sold my stash at the beginning of the year, but we have now just decided to have 1 more. i am kicking myself, but hey what can you do. Because I am only having 1 in MCN's they won't be used for more babies, where can I find the cheapest, but not nastiest nappies? I used the Bumgenius with my other babes, and I liked that they were OSFM, and a pocket. Please tell me all you know
i have cheap bbh for sale. osfm, pockets, excellent condition
Hi, do you have a link to a site with pics? How many? what prices/colours? Thanks in advance. Haven't yet fallen pregnant, so I might be jumping the gun. All depends on what DH says ATM. :D
Details on in the buy sell swap thread. I have a photo of the inside of the hot choc, latte, red and orange ones, but its too big to post on BB, I can take photos of any of the colours you want, and play around so it isnt so big. just let me know =)

There's also a buy and sell mcn's page on fb if you're interested.
Hi ladies,
Have tried to start using my stash of MCN's but DD is leaking out the sides of them all. Seems her butt & legs are too skinny but around the waist they fit. I am using the itti bitti d'lish (AIO & SIO) atm. I also have some BBH's, itti bitti tuttos and pea pods but they all seem bigger than the d'lish. Anyone else had issues or am I doing something wrong?
No I don't think you are. Even my thunder thighed DD2 had gape at that age. They're just so little.
Are you using smalls?
I found my nb sized MCNs worked without leaking, but I didn't use OSFMs until about 3 mths.
I found most brands a bit hit and miss for the first couple months. I found it was easier to get a good fit with velcro rather than snaps.
Try putting them in the dryer on low to ensure the pul is fully sealed. I had that problem with my BBH Magicalls. It was pretty obvious that the leaks were going through the nappy not out a gap though, so this probably isn't the problem. Another option is to add a cover to give that extra layer of protection.
Another reason mine would leak is if they were too full. They have to be changed a lot in smalls as their just isn't as much absorbant material in them. I tried to aim for 2 hourly at the max except overnight.
I found the Itti Bitti Tutto's fit DS better than newborn sized nappies from other brands. He was 3910gms and 54cm at birth.. long and skinny.
That being said, I think there's a bit of trial and error with getting cloth to fit right.
Is there wing droop? I place the nappy higher up DS's back, then really pull the front over so the elastic around his skinny little legs stretches and is firm. So the nappy is a bitty harry high pants LOL but no gapage around his legs.
Thanks all for the replies!
I am using the D'lish smalls. I'll put them in the dryer even though they are used, they are in really good condition as they wern't used that much.
I'll also try the tutto's like you suggested lady_neon and try fitting them a bit better on. I was just putting them on like a disposable. I'll give them a go during the day until I get it right then switch for night. Thanks again x
I'm pretty sure Itti Bitti have a video on how to use the nappies. I've never actually watched it, but I'm sure you'll find something on YouTube.
got fluffy mail yesterday =D. last in forever. i have no money and enough nappies to last 3-4 days. still hoping to sell my BBH cause i have enough pretties for a full stash =p
Itti Bitti have a awesome sale on atm
I got 3 small dlish snap in for $33... lucky dip colours but im not fussed. ou can chose from lucky dip unisex/girl or boy
tuttos are $16 each!!
not seconds just old colours
Don't tell me that ness, I was thinking about getting some more SIOs but its more of a want than a need as I have the full standard colour range but ds2 does go through them all in 2 days (have extra inserts so that's not a problem). ... Might have to virtually wander over to the itti site later and check them out
I was so tempted to go nuts with the sale, but I was desperately after the patterned ones as I've already got most colours, so got some used instead.
Since DD2 is the only kid I've had success with ittis for I thought I'd get some more at that price but they had sold out of the large AIOs really quick. Oh well.
If you like ittis, check out 'wombutts' on facebook. they are similarly trim, reasonably priced and aussie (wahm) made. i really like them.
hi!!
The time has come where Spock's poos are getting some chunk in them =) yay, that transition between bf and solids...yum! but i have had a few I need to scrap into the loo before putting them in the bucket. I've just been using a spoon so far, but its very fidley... it will get easier when its more solid right? should I just stick with the spoon for now? I was looking at getting a little sqirt, and by getting I mean finding out what bits I need to get from bunnings to put it together =P
so what do I need to get to make one??
Try flushable liners!!! Seriously WAAY better than scooping haha
Eww scraping  I just bought a little squirt ;) But if you must make one, it consists of a hose from the wall to the toilet with a connector piece for the little squirt at the toilet end. Another hose from the connect piece to the sprayer and the sprayer. It's a basic spray nozzle like what comes with a hose but only has one setting.
There are other nappy sprayers that are cheaper than the little squirt if you shop around.
but liners defeat the purpose of mcns for me....i started a thread about that a while back...I couldn't understand why you would use mcns if you just use liner too...i dont know, just one of the things that i cant get my head around
The little squirt comes with everything you need hun :)
I must say, after almost 4 years of poopy nappies and at probably at least another 1 or 2 years to come, the little squirt has been well worth the investment ;)
so i am better off paying for an offical little squirt, rather than getting the bits and building our own? money is really tight
I bought a nappy sprayer (like a little squirt, but cheaper) for $45. Best investment yet! DD2 is 11 mths and most dirty nappies are still not 'formed'. Bm is still a major component of her diet, I think i'll be waiting a while to simply tip each poo into the toilet.
I get flushable bamboo liners that are really soft and make it easy to clean up. But I don't use them all of the time. If I can guess which is likely to be a dirty nappy, then I might use the liner. Particularly if we're going out, because then i can flush most of the mess and don't have to carry it away. Don't bother for overnight or when she's already had her dirty nappy for the day. Although when she was littler every nappy was dirty! :/
That reminds me - I must put a nappy sprayer on my Xmas wish list!
Yes. Yes yes yes. I had a homemade job, which I liked. It worked. Then one of the cheap components blew. While I was pregnant, and napping, and DH was on a flight to London. Mid renovation. Water spewed out everywhere, onto our bare floorboards. I couldn't turn the tap off, and called a plumber. I could have bought three nappy sprayers for what that ***** charged. But a friend gave me an LS and it is soooooooo much better. Just do it. Buy and Sell sometimes has them 2nd hand, keep an eye out.
Meanwhile, liners are wonderfully easy, and great for travel. As another alternative, use your garden hose, spray into a bucket (or outdoor loo if you've got one ;) )
Two in cloth - waaaaay easier than I thought it would be. I have heaps more nappies than I need. Story of my life! DD2 is in OSFMs a lot as she just wets through the other stuff so quickly.
WOB1: pink Bonnibuns workhorse, needs a change!
WOB2: bike print GroVia AIO, also change worthy!
thanks Row =) I've never bought or sold from ebay...Im guessing it is dangerous territory to get into though =P I will hunt around buy sell swap groups and see what pops up. Ill wont bother trying to make it myself if they are that cheap, cause thats about how much parts would be anyway I am guessing. I think I have a little time, only been 2 or 3 in the last few weeks that I have had to put in the loo, but I guess it will just be more and more from now on.
I got mine new from an online MCN store in Australia for only $45. You might have to hunt around, but I saw another like it recently, so they're still out there.
i have never had a squirter and have 2 kids in cloth, so you can get away without them . i do have a poo knife though.
i recently acquired some funky embroidered nappies. quite nice after only having functional 'boring' nappies.
