Wow, Pholi, never heard of that either! We've had a plumber in who never said anything about it. But he was a toss pot.
Bubblebubs liners are my fave. We only use them on holidays though.
I need to do a massive nappy cull. I over purchased for two in cloth, so some have to go, and some are really on their last legs, and I'm starting to prefer terry flats anyway.
WOSB: GroVia bikes newborn AIO. Last wear, I think, at 9 weeks old.
i dont understand P. like the tigger itself? why would you leave it in the bowl?. ours is also set up so it has a seperate tap to turn it on and off.
i have a mate who is a plumber ill ask him
Proper little squirts have a back flow valve but home made ls don't so they would technically be illegal due to the risk of water flowing back and contaminating the water supply from what I've read
Ours is a branded one, also bought here in Oz, but I've no idea if it has that valve in it. I'm really curious to see what other plumbers have to say about them, because I normally don't do illegal things, and it does make me feel a little bit uncomfortable, even though we would never ever leave the spray head and trigger hanging in the bowl!
so talked to my mate the plumber. he said they are all illegal. to get on fitted properly with vavle and whatnot you would need a plumber and would cost thousands. he even did a search for me on any cheap legal stuff and didnt find anything!
i cant believe it!!
he said he wont dob on me tho. ill just hide it if we ever need a plumber
as if little squirts are illegal? So so many people would be caught out by it!!
I have my old one which i plan on reattaching once bubs is born....
I am actually on the look out for some cheap newborn/small covers, i have a heap of prefolds but no covers and dont really want to pay full price so if anyone knows anyone please feel free to pm me
Audax yeah I'd definitely just remove little squirt before audit, although I think its pretty ridiculous I mean its not likely to get left in toilet bowl (eww!) or cause problems if it was accidentally in there, and isn't it Australian owned (and made?) company? I don't actually have one but anyways.
Ness I got given around a dozen small fuzzy buns covers just last week that I'd be happy to give you some of. But the elastics a lil iffy on most and would obviously have to post. Pm if you want more info etc.
Yay for me... I managed to nab 3 (as new) bbh night nappies and covers for ds2 for wait for it.... $10!!! For all of it, I'm so happy coz I'd been looking for ages and now to get such a bargain for him means I won't have to beat myself up too much about spending so much for a few more each for the other children
Carrie re stinkies a longer wash isn't likely to do much (unless you have on a really short wash). I'd suggest a strip wash and then prerinsing if you don't already or just extra rinse at end of wash. Sun drying if you don't already also.
Lady neon if you ended up going to booloo babe the other week and want flushable liners perhaps try pop in there again sometime and grab some if theres so no postage? I found after a lot of just making do lol that liners are so wonderful in a way especially for little bubbas coz it takes much longer go wash out poos that have 'soaked' into the nappy than older bubs that most just tips off. Just my opinion
12 Baby Beehind nappies (blue, orange, green and purple)
4 BBH day covers - large
2 BBH wool night covers - large
2 BBH magicalls pocket nappies
4 Parents & Pumpkins pocket nappies (Adelaide made)
All the above nappies fit newborn to toddler
4 large Fuzzi Bunz pocket nappies
5 large Starbunz pocket nappies (monkey, tiger, bear, ladybird and dog)
All nappies have the liners/stuffing they came with plus I have
2x large Starbunz hemp liners
8 microfibre cloths
38 cotton wipes (need to be overlocked)
2 muslin throws
1 bunny rug, 2 pillowcases, 2 x nappy changing mats
All bought new except the Fuzzi Bunz and 1 Starbunz.
all this for $200. Little Squirt $40. So $240 for it all.
This is the stash I bought today. A few are a bit sun faded but I'm not worried about that. Woo hoo can't wait until they are washed and folded ready to use!

I do:
Rinse (with deep rinse on extra dirty)
Wash
Rinse
Dry in sun (unless it's like now where we have 300-400mm of rain in 24hrs :/ then they get dried inside)
